And liverpool are trash right now so its not like gerrard is putting the team on his back. Admitted I support chelsea, but I always favor the players that demonstrate skill and finesse over work-rate and strength: henry, lampard, berbatov. as opposed to tevez, rooney, pujol. To me, lamps outshines gerrard in this aspect.

When you average 20+ goals/assists (yest i said assists, that means setting up goals if you didnt knew) then how can you say Lampard is wasting attacking plays when he doesnt just set them up, build them up but also scores them? I agree with Snejder and Xavi being great, but Lampard will give you that and goals in your team

@Rookiebrow I tend to agree with the assessment that English players are overrated when playing for their national team, but at their clubs, they play a fantastic game. I guess when the majority of players in a league are foregin, world-class athletes, you tend to adapt to your teams specific style of play. Xavi and Iniesta are good with Barca and team Spain because team Spain play a similar style to other La Liga teams. This cannot be said of premier league and the England team.
