I see two voices in the song. The first laments his position in the lonely, inscrutable universe. The second, in the final two stanzas, says "hey guy, make your own meaning and face the universe as it is, fuck yeah existentialism!"
atheists, do yourself a really fun favor: lay on the hood of your car while this song is on repeat (at night) and look up at the stars. this song really hits you.
@TheLostSniper47 Play it dude. I live in East Texas and had a discussion about religion today. The zealots got a little heated, but I kept my cool and I think I made some progress. If a discussion that goes against the theocracy of Texas can be held without me being shunned from my small town of 1300 people, then you can play this song without fear of threats. If they do theaten you, remind them that only God can judge.
After being forced to listen to Christian music throughout my childhood, this is so encouraging to hear! Oh and it doesn't hurt the melody is kickass as well! You're just incredible talented and the message is something that really hits home.
You need to make an album ASAP. Thank you SO much Bryan for making my year!
@TempleOfSin unfortunately there is no physical copy of Residual Soul. So as of now the only way to get your hands on the tracks is to purchase them online.
Setting up your credit card on iTunes is worth every second it takes though. Its safe, extremely easy, and it gives you access to millions of artists and their music.
I strongly suggest taking the time to get iTunes etc etc.
I have the 10kth view? Omfg, such a good song >:3

@bryansteeksma Bryan, I'm not set up on-line with my credit card. Is there any way someone in my position could purchase the tracks on an album?
I hope there is... I really want to hear more of your music! It's great stuff, thanks for sharing this one.
