  • how i wish. i could play like this. you are amazing my friend.

  • just wonder, why the version of sakura i heard before is 7 min long and it includes a Tremolo at around 3:20? can anyone help? thx

  • love your style of playing.

  • journying through the sacred sakura hills of japan

  • Honestly Michael, with fingers like that I don't see why you aren't playing the mandolin. :)

  • When the song ended, I was two or three minutes still immersed in that atmosphere. I think the compliments are unnecessary.

  • I think You are the best classical guitar player I have ever heard. I love you playing and now I realy want to learn to play the guitar.

  • Thank you vary much. Start practicing. You will fall in love with it like it did. Best

  • Part of variation harmonic slower and let it sound longer is perfect

  • 00:27 Amazing

  • you made me cry....my father -who died- used to play the guitar...and God I miss that "noise" in my ears....thank you so much...

  • i love it. Thank you.

  • I play this piece too. Figured it all out from a vid on youtube. It was a pain in the arse, but totally worth it. :P

  • Amazing performance!

You should write the full score name and the arranger's name so that people can find the original score: Sakura Theme And Variations by Yuquijiro Yocoh

  • thank you

  • @mrstapir That's some funky, non-Japanese spelling. As far as I can tell, it should be "Yukihiro Yoko".

  • wonderfull.

could you please explain the diference between natural and artificial harmonics?

  • @DRORZANDMA Natural harmonics are played on open strings whereas when you play artficial harmonics you press a string to shorten it.

  • mi piace molto l'arrangiamento di Yoko Yoquyiro.

    Grande interpretazione,la tua,sensibilità sopraffina.

    Non ho altre parole.

  • its either middle-age white men or teenage japanese guys with guitars in hand on the internet.

    anyone else notice that?

  • almost scary

  • Beautiful!! :D i hope i learn to play it as well someday :)

  • The sound you produce is exeptional, respect.

  • awesome!!! i love it specialy the part at 2:25 fantastic !

  • gran video

  • thank you vary much. Glad you like it!

  • so beautiful

  • Master Piece!

  • You made me cry.

    I am now a fan

  • The best non-koto performance of sakura I've ever heard!

  • holy crap man,,,,,Im almost positive that that harmonics run you went on is pretty difficult!!

  • The song is beautiful on its own. You tell it with great grace and intensity., Creating an atmosphere so intense you could cut with a knife

  • I did not like your take on variation 1, the melody somehow didn't ring enough. Then again, that's opinion based. Variation 2 on the other hand was really great, you've practiced artificial harmonics very well.

  • I had no choice but to subscribe to your channel! Your playing is lush! :]

  • very well played

  • nice can anyone help me on where i could download this online? or any version of it thanks in advance :)

  • i played this on the violin such a great song

  • @newyorkhorseman he's using a loriente, from cordoba.

  • beautiful interpretation

  • Sakura It is beautiful music.

    桜 とても綺麗なな演奏ですね。

  • Balsam for my ears. Great.

  • This goes to show you what hard work can do as a reward to create a beautiful sound of music.

  • Oustanding Piece of music

  • You seem to have the same problem with me on the last variation. The tremolo is tough to master and keep at a constant speed. I tend to sound like a horse galloping on my tremolo.

  • DIOS....awesome,increible.soooooooo nice men ....y dont have more expresions xDDD...

  • beautiful! just beautiful!

  • He played japanese tradition very very well.

  • Absolutely fantastic!

  • wow im amazed by your sound n skills

i trying to figure out what kind of scale this is, it sounds like A minor pentatinoc or something like that but its not.. specialy on 0:22 - 0:26 can you tell me what kind of scale it is it sounds so exotic :)

  • WOOT!! WOOT!! Where did this guy came from!! O.O he should be more famous than Yanni! Why is he still in youtube @_@ omg omg omg !!

  • While youtube is quite an ample source of talent, it is an even more ample source of idiocy. It's difficult to find gems like this among all the junk.

  • very nice, I must say

  • Far out that is amazing.

Such variety of technique and it just sounds amazing!

  • I like it. きれいな音!

  • I have performed this one too. :)

  • I would wish i had the money to fly you to denmark and an excuse for having you perform.. this is awesome

  • this was amazing, your articulation and colour is amazing

  • O_________O

    W O W ~~~~!!

  • Where can I find the tabs for this arrangement?

Also, I am really trying to find some good japanese songs to practice, any recommendations?

  • Just fantastic!

  • im learning this same variation.

  • Good job! It's a pretty song ^^

  • Man, this was really nice!! I´d never had the idea of playing this song...

    I need the sheets... o.O

  • Graet. For us Japanese this melody sounds too close to us, but your paly and Yokoh's composition on the thme of Sakura sounds very fresh.

Owing to John Williams this variations on the theme of Sakura became one of the popular pieces for guitarists worldwidely. When John came and visit Japan, he took this music note with him. A guitarist and a good composer Yokoh should be known more. The other his arrangents are also well made.

  • Incredible. Can someone give me the name of the technique at 2:25? Is it just tap harmonics?

  • A combination of natural harmonics and artificial harmonics.

  • Thankyou, I watch this video everyday as I wait for Christmas in hopes of getting a classical guitar.

  • Great!!

Going to learn it) Thanks for inspiration)

  • you sooooooooooo good

  • Amazing, that's all I can say.
