The pledge is shit I don't fucking care have the police arrest me and at my school we only have the moment of silence on veterans day or if somting really really bad happens
@ererye I'm glad we have differing opinions! Also, just saying, if you're that devout, you should probably have written God's, not gods...capital letters make all the difference =)
the reason that i don't stand up or say the pledge is because i believe its purpose is to subliminally plant the seed of patriotism and nationalism in the public from an early age. i mean come on! what is this a dictatorship?? were not in Nazi Germany. remember history repeats its self, but it doesn't have to.
He isn't saying to stay seated and disrupt people while they are saying the pledge, but simply that you shouldn't HAVE to say the pledge to either fit in or look patriotic.

I was in JROTC, and we had to say the pledge, but I muttered certain parts, I didn't really agree with, like "under God."
