  • i wana buy your 4into1 or old pipes

  • Hey Cliff,

Josh from the forums here. That front end looks really nice, and the bike sounds great. Is your 4-1 header off of a Fazer? I like the line and the short can, looks cool.

  • Hey Josh.......sorry for the long awaited reply.....I dont check here much, as I dont get those automated replies...

Yep, its a Kerker for the FZX........Short can was cut in 1/2.........

    Thanks Bud!

  • do u have ur old pipes

  • Wow that bike sounds really cool. Very unique sound!

  • one of my fazers had original pipes but yesterday i put a 4-1 exhaust on it. its a kerker too and its a short muffler on it. It is soooo loud lol im going to put a vid soon of it.

  • Ohhhh, Defonitely.........they have laws against that stuff......I always roll off the throttle when around coppers.......If I ride for any long distance I lose a little hearing in my right ear.......a nice helmet helps, and so would ear plugs IF I wore them........Yeah its gonna get loud in here.....

  • Yeah I changed a whole lot on the bike if you read the write up on it I did. straight Handlebars, FZR600 front end, XJR 1200 rear end, Kerker 4-1exhaust, removed grab bar, changed gearing to 48T, reworked the carbs mega, seat recut by hand removing 1 1/2", fake Ohlins rear shocks, and I just installed progressive springs in the front end, paint, and a keyless fuel cap.........did I miss anything?

  • @cliffiniraq i have 2 fazers myself. One has a little windshield w/ Buell Front head lights. it looks great and one is completly original, paint, seat, pipes EVERYTHING

  • @cliffiniraq

Hello Cliff, Just got a cherry Fzx on 10k miles. Like your fzr forks. I didn't hear you say how you came about them. Would you share that. Thanks, Jay

  • @usedboats1 ONLY 10K MILES

  • did you change the handlebars? they look straight compared to the stock ones

  • I love that bike!! That's gotta be the coolest 80's street machine I've ever seen;) ride on....

  • Hey cliff, sweet fazer! I just picked my own 86' in damn near perfect condition. Seeing that you are the YouTube Fazer guru, I'm curious if you have ever adjusted the rear suspension on your bike? I bet I have about 30-40lbs on the previous owner. Is this an easy thing to do? Seems like it should be... oh yeah, and also It would be great to be able to see how you did your rear fender. That is something I plan on doing as well.

    THANKS

  • Marshal,

the only change you can do to a stock FZX is to make the suspension harder, look at the body of the rear shock and it will tell you softer or harder, all you have to do it twist the whole unit. I does twist! See the holes at the bottom those are the marks.

The rear fender is just some aluminum bent for the plate and lights, really simple, and just take off the old chrom one!

  • very cool, sounds simple enough.. As far as turn signals go, how did you make sure they are compatible? Sorry if these sound like dumb questions!

  • Nope its actually a good question. YOU CANT USE LED.....unless you have the proper control mechanisms. The ones I have are just regular bulbs. Short stalk, Lockhart Phillips if I remember. you need 2 wire in the back and 3 wire in the front for the markers......bet you didnt know that?

  • @cliffiniraq3 do you think police can pull you over if your bike makes alot of noise? i dont trust riding mine cause of that lol

  • ok, lookin' at all the post from the Fazer boyz has got to me. I am an original owner of 86 Fazer, not runnin right now. Need carbs rebuild(badly) would love to get those 4 into 2 pipes off. Any help would be appreicated.

  • Well your in the right spot, ask away in the forum.......loads of info and knowledge here.

  • @DontheBody do you want to sell it?

  • I just bought an 87 yesterday. The front calipers are sticking badly. As soon as I get that fixed, I"m going to enjoy taking it out.

  • Hey glad to hear you bought one! You may just need to bleed the brakes, or clean off the caliper pistons.....are you wrench worthy? Easy task.....

Good luck, give a shout if you need help.

  • Had an 86 Fazer myself way back in 1986.... Sorry I sold it..... It was amazingly quick.... Great memories--- thanks for posting

  • Frontier,

Thanks for the comments, Im trying to get some "on the bike" videos, you'll hate yourself even more then....Glad it brings back some memories for you. Yeah this thing is quick.....I have a stage III dynojet kit, Kerker header with cut slipon, XJR 1200 rear swingarm/wheel, FZR 600 forks/wheel, and a dyno'd setup, I just changed to a 48T rear sprocket from a 40T (would do 130mph easy), now Im just going for quick.

  • Love the plate.... 86FZXR

  • awesome is that front wheel 18"? how did you tuck the license plate in like you did?

Cant wait to get my fzx700 going

  • No, its the 17" from a 92 FZR600. I made a custom bracket up under the seat frame, like the original, but Wayyyyyy shorter, I even used the original plate light! Really its just a bent piece of plate aluminium.

  • I screwed up on the commentary. This is the FZR600 forks.........on a FZX700 bike. I call it a FZXR for some stupid reason. this was done before coffe in the morning.
