  • The chili pepper slicing, good lord, amazing!

As I mentioned in another video's comments, I had never seen the technique of cooking the thin sheets of dough on a flat iron.

Really great example of cooking mastery. Cooking an entire meal, not just dishes.

  • Next best thing to smoking weed... for the appetite, that is! :))))

  • @jonnrock

He is blowing up the duck to fully expand it for roasting. In restaurants, they use an air pump.

  • @CalDodger Is it for separating the skin from meat? (Peking duck?)

  • @tnc7685

No, I don't think so. Just to make it cook more evenly.

  • Why does it have to be so complicated!!

    I just use the microwave!

  • To all the people who don't know the scene starting at 4:53 in the banquet hotel kitchen... the master chef is brought in to save the SHARK FIN SOUP and when seeing it, he knows instantly it's FAKE shark fin that falls apart into a slimy gooey gell in the pot - so he just ends up cooking an entirely different dish to satisfy.

  • fuck panda express

  • Thank you - this video is all kinds of awesome.

  • This clip is exactly what I was looking for to show my students of Chinese language class. Thank so much!

  • Donkeyspit - looks like a variation on twice cooked pork. He shallow fried the pork belly in the wok before slicing and arranging in the bowl. He then steamed it to cook the veggies and warm the pork. An awesome presentation.

  • @nctrnlbst That is not exactly the dish "Twice Cooked Pork" often seen in the West or US. It's a less known (to the West) dish called 梅乾扣肉 meigan kourou. Sorry, I have no idea how to translate it into English.

  • What is the name of dish at 2:29?

  • I like the steamed food...gosh yummy

  • soooo good. Food porn at it's best. You took out the dialogue and just left the action and ***shots. My palate is starting to tingle right now.

  • The true art of cooking. This is stellar, with fabulous photography.

  • I was trying to tell my chef about this movie because the food is so amazing ,and we don't get Chinese dishes like these in America. I really want them.

  • :-) this isn't chinese, it is taiwanese, the film plays in the capital taipei.

  • Yay Taiwanese! =D

  • @tokajilover

    This *IS* a Chinese film. It's a Taiwanese-Chinese film.

Everything portrayed in the film is traditional Chinese culture.
