Mast cells don't release histamine bursts because they have "weak membranes". They release them because they are coated with antibodies generated by your immune system which serve as pollen antigen receptors. When the antigens attach, the mast cell dumps histamine (an inflammatory agent) to induce mucus production, coughing, sneezing, bronchoconstriction, etc, all in an over-zealous effort to rid the body of invading allergens.  His "cure" ignores the immune response that causes allergies.
