  • Got the 12" single of this never been played......wonder what its worth?????

  • Maybe wrong but, she was famous for being the Sex Pistols first fan b4 she started Banshees. They did it the right way- none of them knew how to play. Budgie thought he might like drums-- then became a world class drummer. Steve thot he'd like bass-- then became a world class producer. They got really good, really fast-- like 6 months. Steve''s her best friend & til recently, Budgie her husband. Robert Smith was doing banshees & cure at the same time. Banshees was funner, he said.

  • everytime it gets better

  • Underrated Siouxsie track.

Reminds me of Joy Division's "Atmosphere."

    Nothing wrong with that.

    This is a good track.

    V.O.I.D.MK20 (MA)

  • timeless classic

  • Just wanted to let people know, there is more than one (siouxsie) reason this song is so fucking beautiful. Listed in the song credits as a co-writer/composer is Danny Elfman.

  • Great!!! SIOUXSIE & THE BANSHEES - great Band- UNIQUE!!! Top Singles: The Staircase.., Christine, Israel, Hong Kong Garden, Spellbound etc... . Thank You! Greetings From Dresden

  • I just looked up this video because, like you iambanshee did not know the Devotchka version was a cover !! I feel so duped! Still love Devotchka, but really love this version better.

  • Que temon gracias por subirlo la version en vivo tambien es muy buena tiene su encanto pero como se dice el original siempre sera el mejor siouxsie como siempre fenomenal

  • her false eye lashes are way psychedelic infact her makeup is increadible as the light catches those beads on her lower eye lid(s) is artistic genius

  • eu choro muito!!! LINDO!!!

  • Awesome video, but the live version I like better ...

  • what a great song..

  • EXQUISITE!!!

  • always been the queen of new wave. My youth...

  • Another side of Siouxie.

The poetry in her shouts out loud through this flawless melody.

Only in her voice is how the true emotion of the song completely gets you.

-->Right time to tell you (abeb) how I heart U!

  • I like this version as well as DeVotchKa's. :D

  • Wow. How did I manage to miss this?

  • you just got out of luck

  • Don't get me wrong, not dissin this version at all. I just happen to think DeVotchKa did a better job capturing the liveliness of the song. I feel it is more energetic and alive than this version allows it to be.

  • yes,devotchka made a good version too

  • It sounds good but I think this original works better. The lyrics are cautious and wanting, its like she doesn't want to admit these feelings to herself. Siouxsie's voice is trying to hold back the emotion because she is afraid of what the relationship means, but she is cracking because she wants and needs it. Great emotional duality in these lyrics. I relate to this version much more.

  • @BlackWyvernFS agreed

  • amazing *.*

  • siouxsie you are the best

  • Love Love this song. Glad to see a lot of other people appreciate such a great song.

  • there is no one like siouxie...

  • If love was a sound it would sound like this.

  • im thirteen and im stunning!!!

    love this song!!!

i know her through an "Goth" magazine!!!

    Long Life Siouxsie!!!

  • omg i fucken love this song !

  • didn't need to spend millions to make a great video. The video is as good as the song and they complement each other amazingly.Excellent job.

  • The best Song ever-and live plus "kissed them from me"...I love you...

  • She said in the 80's, that she would never sell out and try to take America by storm. She also said the poor Robert Smith would never make it after leaving her band. She was right half the time. Love her, she will always be my fav.

  • =^o.o^= Kittah wuvs Siouxsie's, until the last beat of Kittah's heart.

  • This song is beautiful

    Siouxsie's amazing

  • from "peek a boo", one of their best album!

  • The album is called "Peepshow". "Peek-A-Boo" was a single released from it.

  • urgh!!! you're right I hope hekpyrosis remove my error! by the way I've got the album...: (

  • And a naked bone of an echo says,

    don't walk away,,,

  • I think this is the only song where I think the live version is better.. it's more powerful..

Both versions are beautiful though. =)

    <3

  • @swiftliketiger The live versions of Night Shift and Voodoo Dolly from the Albert Hall gig in 1983 are also possibly better than the album versions, imho.

  • @swiftliketiger

man seeing her sing this live is more than just powerful. its mind blowing. its as if everyone else in the house is gone and its just her singing directly to you.

  • @swiftliketiger

The version that is part of Twice Upon a Time... Yes... You are right!! And yes... This is beautiful too...

  • Great song! After all those years. So subtile. Incredible!

  • I'll never forget you, n this was our song

  • you too eh ;-)

  • This is first clas... amazing video..

  • Thanks to YOUTUBE the past can be rediscovered.

  • the first version of this song that i heard was the one by DevotchKa, who i absolutely love but i like this one a bit more. I always hate when u hear a song by a band you like alot and then later find out that they didn't do the the original, it's always a little dissapointing. i don't agree that it's impossible for a remake to be better than the original since in the case of music "better" is a matter of opinion and sometimes an artist can capture something that the first attempt missed

  • @iambanshee658

    same here..

    all true!

  • @iambanshee658

    Cock head

  • @iambanshee658

COCK HEAD ????? YOU EITHER LIKE OR YOU DON'T ???????

Evoultion pertains to music too you tosser

  • @iambanshee658 i agree with u i thought devotchka songs were all there own. but there still great. and so is this

  • @iambanshee658 Songs are meant to be sung!

  • Remakes can't be better since they are inspired by the original artist. It's simply impossible.

  • Sorry you'r wrong noblesteve. Jimi Hendrix-All Along the Watchtower, The Byrds-Mr. Tambourine Man, Manfred Mann-Blinded by the Light, The Mighty Quinn, Judas Priest-Diamonds and Rust plus a few more.

  • Man this really is a beautiful song. And holy moses is siouxie hot and sexy. (not necessarily in this video but in others)...and a fantastic musical artist. Surprisingly she isn't very well known by very many people.......other then those familiar with 1980's alternative stuff. It just was never much on mainstream radio stations...........too bad. It's great stuff.

  • I agree. Siouxsie was was introduced to me in the 6th grade in the mid 80's and was hooked ever since. I remember going to the record shop and buying Peepshow, while everyone else was buying the latest. I think the closest they got to mainstream was when they started playing "Kiss them for me". A great tune as well but by then I had other favorite Siouxsie songs..

  • ai............ sin palabras

  • astig

  • is this the original? or is it a cover?

  • Original

  • original

  • it reminds me of a lake covered with mist and silence

  • just pure class by siouxsie love this song

  • I have always loved this song. It speaks to my soul.

  • What an artist n' band my God!

An example for the entire world

I wish I knew then sooner in life n'

    more about their work.

I think their songs should be consider

human patrimony be in our hearts and

on the books to be studied on

    universities.

    Siouxssie forever.

  • like this? You'll love Devotchka. if you hadn't checked it out already, they have their own version of this. this is better, but they make great music also.

  • Such a beautiful song

  • Really...she's heterosexual? Well.... I guess I'll still like her, I do have hetero friends you know!

    (yes, it's sarcasm)

  • "Siouxsie never came out as gay".....cause that would be sooo bad, right? Gay or not who cares? Her voice, music, artistry is beyond extraordinary. I'll always love her!

  • She's killing me. Killing me... ahhhh, its tooo, its, its, too... much

  • Such an intimate and unusual video - she seems so vulnerable.

I wish all of you quarreling out there in the posts below could just appreciate the music & imagery and just let it rest :)

  • Why did Mick Mercer take the piss in his 2nd Book on Goth? I bet he can't write songs like this...

  • su and budgie are married,so to say she is a les,is crazy.ITS ABOUT THE MUSIC

  • not anymore, they're not.

  • L'unica (?) canzone romantica dei Banshees. Bellissima!

  • I still have the gold leaf sleeve vinyl release but I didn't know there was a video with this single, magnificent.

  • I am blessed to have gotten to see her, and the creatures!! AMAZING!!

  • haunting and beautiful, i wrote this line in a poem to someone recently ...and then searching through Siouxsie songs found this music...!

  • one of the most wonderful concert openers I've ever seen (1992)

  • this is my first time hearing this particular song from the banshees and believe you me

it has just blown me away

  • god she was sure beautiful, and still is im sure. i always found it funny how she loved to show her tits in her early career. it was both beautiful and silly.

  • yea i can;t belive there were no cuts in this video... it was a straight one shoot. she sure is amazing

  • i'm still turning people on to her music/videos. none of my friends seem to know that her, robert smith, and the sexpistols were all related at some weird point in time.. musically or romantically, im not qualified to say ;) so i can get the mods (dating myself yes, mike) the punks, and the goths to maybe experience some new genres. or else i failed years ago :p

  • lol yea ure totally right.. they were all related which is weird.. Sex Pistols gave birth to Siouxsie & The Banshees, Siouxsie & The Banshees gave birth to The Cure. LOL

  • you're obviously young and stupid. related can mean that soiusxie once dated robert (which she did) and he also played in a few of her songs, and related could also mean that sid played drums in her early band (which he did) "interrelated" does mean "family" grow up a bit kid.

  • im surprised you can mash the keyboard in english!

  • Siouxsie never came out as gay. She said:

"I've never particularly said I'm hetero or I'm a lesbian. I know there are people who are definitely one way, but not really me. I suppose if I am attracted to men then they usually have more feminine qualities."

  • While it could be argued that The Sex Pistols gave birth to the Banshees...it's completely wrong to say the Banshees gave birth to The Cure. Both bands started, independant of each other, in 1976. But Robert Smith was making music before Siouxie even started The Banshees.

  • he was originally one of the banshees. he bit his look off siouxsie.

  • They are all related because back in the day goth was not a subculture of its own. It was part of the punk scene before it grew out to become its own genre.

  • i remember it. they all used to get lumped with "new wave" a little too.

  • Siouxsie...my dark angel... A wonderful phenomenon, one of the world's most beautiful and exciting women...I will love her forever. 5 stars!

  • Man, she can be really pretty

  • This is the best song anywhere, ever.

  • god the lyrics are fucking beautiful in this song

i LOVE Devotchkas version alot more then this

but this band/woman has amazing talent in her lyrics and an amazing voice.

who knows maybe it will grow on me

  • I just got Peepshow the other day and it has immediately become one of my favourite albums. This track is absolutely beautiful!

  • MMMmm I love it too much! Lovely! :D Jess

  • i love this song!!! devotchka (sp) does a good version of this song as well.

  • unbelivable good !!!!!! :)))

  • My wedding song in 98. Still gets to me!

  • That's awesome, pal, really.

  • I cant wait for "class" to come back in to style..for now, we live in the "Planet of the Apes"....you and I...

  • Great !! I love this song!

    Lau I (L) U

  • This song is beyond beautyfull my god!!!!! And this woman!!! what a goddess!!!, the drumming is perfection.

  • My dear Molly.

  • Beautiful Gothic music and Siouxsie at her 1920's best...Madonna ripped her-off so badly that its not even funny!
