only just found out about this band through screeching weasel and I gotta say this song is pretty awesome. I think Ben's music has always drawn too much influence from the Ramones though. If the Ramones were to play a song written by Ben, I and many other people probably wouldn't even know it wasn't their song.

I was also at this show. It was at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL (north of Chicago). Riverdales opened for MTX and Boris The Sprinkler. Was a very cool show, but yes -- it was a calm crowd that afternoon. Thanks for posting this.

I think the Riverdales is the only band to ever rival the Ramones. Yes, that's right, in many ways, the Riverdales did stuff that was better than A LOT of Ramones stuff. Really. Way underrated.

Dude I agree 100%. I've described The Riverdales as what the Ramones would be if they were still around and had stayed relevant and cool. I've heard several Riverdales songs and thought that it sounded like the Ramones but better. Ben Weasle is a genius.

well I know from a lot of the shows I have been to, people who are really into the music, don't care if they know the band that's playing or not, they'll still dance like no tomorrow anyway. That's awesome!

Wow, I was at this show. Northwestern University, 07/08/95. For everyone who's bitching about how terrible the crowd is, a) they were opening, and I'm pretty sure they were the first openers, b) they had only just put out their album, so no one even knew what to expect (and if this wasn't their first show, it was one of their first), and c) everyone was pretty skeptical of the band that used to be Screeching Weasel. Just because they turned out to be good doesn't mean we knew that going in.
