I always knew this was written about Linda Eastman. John and Paul's relationship wasn't as strong as it was when Paul wrote "Hey Jude", so this one had to be for Paul's real love, Linda Eastman.
No smiles on their faces like in their beginning... you can sense the tension in their faces during this period. The only one who seems to be enjoying himself, even if just a little, is John. But, Lord, I Love them ALL!
i like videos like this one because its happy but i dont like watching the film let it be because you can clearly see the increasingly large ammount of tension between the band they broke up less than a year after this.
@lamaki56 That is because he felt unappreciated here. He left for 2 weeks during this session because of that, and when he did return, they had flowers all over his drums as a sign of their love for him. George was very unhappy also pretty much for the same reason also. They knew here their breakup was imminent.
Trev man, the vid got through, but ya did ya msgs didn't. So I'm just gonna say wow! is this footage from the extra dvd - but whatever it's lovely BUT I cant help but thin that this era they;re falling out of love with each other,,,,,,,all four of them think "other" things.....do you know what I mean?
Great song hard to believe that was January, 1969, still travels well today, better than Led Zepplin, the stones etc etc. beatles will never date especially from the end of 1964 onwards.

I still refuse to believe that this song wasn't written about Paul and John's relationship.

I swear that this is the very first I have read that this was written for Linda!
As I recall, it was written by LENNON, both music and lyrics.

I've always thought the song was about John. But after with all the attacks and bickerin at the time, it would have been too awkward to admit it.
