I think I've gone through the first Pikmin about 20 times since it came out and 5 or 6 of those times were on the Wii version...
And every single time I go through the Wii version, my game is completely messed up from these glitches. I don't know what it is about this version, but they really messed something up with it. Maybe that's why Nintendo didn't release the second one in NA. I was fighting the Puffstool earlier and I lost almost all of my pikmin to this glitch. I just turned it off.
this happened on the gamecube when i was fighting that mushroom guy. i was like WTF when my pikmin count would always go down when i fought him, even when i didnt see or hear any pikmin die. i watched closely one time, and what happens is that the pikmin get pushed through the floor. since they are no longer on the map, they don't exist. i never finished the day because i was trying to go through the game without losing a pikmin, but i dont even think it registers as you losing a pikmin.
That never happened to me in the GameCube version but I just found an article on Pikipedia named Crushing Glitch. It seems it already happened before but there was no mention about them getting pushed under the map.
As for the bridges, did this already happen to you? I just wrote it as a section in the "bridge glitches" article in Pikipedia, but like I said nobody had this happen before it seems. But then again, how many people hid their Pikmin under the bridge? XD You just have to try I guess.
Never happened to me with the bridges. I've even went under then, because I thought it was funny to see my Pikmin go through the bridges. They can literally go through them.
I only have Gamecube because I'm a Microsoft fan, but I never tried leaving them there. I figure that the safest place for them is with me, because if they're not, then I can't keep track of them.
Being a Microsoft fan doesn't necessary mean that you can't have other consoles. XD Whatever, you are still new to Pikmin? The safest place for them isn't always by your side and you can always keep track of them on the map once you got a certain treasure.
New to Pikmin? No, no, no. I collected every single treasure in Pikmin 2 without losing a single Pikmin, and you're trying to say that I'm new? lolno. In Pikmin 1, if you dismiss them, they will go do whatever they want if something is close enough, that's why I keep them by my side. Since I don't have Louie by my side, I usually only have about 20-30 out anyways.
Lol. Calm down, I didn't try to say you're new to Pikmin, that was just a question. I didn't understand what you meant with having them always by your side because having them always isn't always good (fucking baby bulborbs...). Whatever sorry if it sounded rude.
I just saw that this should also work with the GameCube version. Maybe you want to try it sometime?
I didn't mean to sound rude either, and those baby bulborbs do get annoying. I just swarm them though. What you have to worry about is the larva bulborbs. Believe it or not, I have actually saved one of my Pikmin from being eaten by the larva bulborbs. Anyways, I'm probably not going to be playing Pikmin anytime soon, seeing as I got a new Guitar Hero drumset, so you could try it, but not me.
W00t!!!! I just beat Pikmin, gathered all the ship parts, and didn't lose a single Pikmin. I actually did it. The Emperor Bulblax was almost impossible to beat, let alone not lose a single Pikmin, but I did it. Anyways, I didn't know it was possible to save a Pikmin from them either. I was just randomly throwing my purples on them, and it turns out one of my Pikmin was in one of their mouths. Really surprised me.
Yeah, i think they got pushed trough the floor and get killed (Maybe they place something that kills anything that goes under the map)
Something like this happend to me on the first level, on a little bridge that the pikmins hit. Some of my pikmin were stuck under the bridge, no matter how much i called them, they were still, and night creatures didn't killed them.
And, nice pointer and, New Play Controll Pikmin for wii? I am googling that.
What do you mean with pointer? This is the remake for Wii with new (and IMO much better) controls. And did that glitch happen in the gamecube version? I never had something like this happen in the gamecube version. I mean in new play control, it happened against a enemy too! >:(
I hate this glitch, it killed my squad. :(

Yeah...I know, but did you try to just leave them there? In the New Play Control! one? Nothing happened?
