I'm 1/4 Russian, and every time I look at my Matryoshka dolls, it reminds me of these clips. They were always some of my favorites from classic Sesame Street, and my kids find them cute today too.
I just wonder how long it took to make this 1 1/2 minute film! People today (anyone under 20 or 25 at least) probably have never even heard of stop-motion film. THIS is the kind of thing I MISS!! SOMEONE STICK THAT LITTLE RED *$##*@% THEY CALL "ELMO" UNDER A LAWN MOWER....PLEASE! Then we can get back to something besides the same darn thing day after day, after day, after day, after..... on that show: elmos world, fairy school, laudramat, etc. Kids today don't know what "variety" is!
I have a set of Santas like these dolls, and when I bought them 17 years ago, you can bet I was thinking of this Sesame Street clip from my childhood!
This used to be me and my sister's favorite back in the day! Sometimes at random we would just tell each other, "wrong way dummy." Even still as grown ups!
Great memories - I think it's sad that they probably would never even consider putting a line like 'wrong way, dummy!' in a kid's show today. It's probably not 'politically correct' to call someone a dummy, etc. We didn't know how good we had it back then - simpler times. Thanks for the videos!
OMG How I LOVED this as a child! Years wishing and asking for these nesting dolls and finally getting them for my 16th birthday from a family friend. Now my little ones play with them. Thank you so much!!
No, I know you are not kidding. The video has these tapping showgirls and one by one they disappear through a hole...rather creepy. The video was definitely on YouTube, as I have seen it. However, I don't know if it has been taken down or which search terms to look up. Good luck!
What other Sesame Street videos did you upload from Woobie, besides this? Do you have the shadow puppet cow performance clip or the psychadelic H clip?
10 to 1 seemed a little better since we weren't treated to the unborn fetus coming out after a few agonizing seconds.

Anyone ever see the set of nested dolls made to look like Gorbachev, Andropov, Brezhnev, Khrushchev, Stalin and Lenin?
