When it comes to good games like this DS sucks. Dont take this the wrong way, its fine if you have nothing to do on the go, but it only works good with the games that are made for it like Nintendogs and stuff like that. If you wanna play this game the way its suppose to be played, get the Sims Castaway Stories(basically the same just for computers). I've seen basically everything in that video on what I've done on story mode It's 100 times better and at about same price(30$).
