I've never messed with a Toshiba, either. This one looks to be old and sloppy with clamp movements, much like many HPMs I've worked around. Huskys can be quite reliable, but can be a real pain with their GUI being a microsoft o/s. Not so user friendly as some would suggest. I've seen them do a BSOD more than once. The hardware can be really buggy also. Like highlander, I love cincys. Very user friendly on the screen, easy to run and troubleshoot problems. They are the best!
Toshiba has the most user freindly controller, and is a great machine. Husky is great for customer service, and built tough, but the controller sucks. Engle have issues with transducer errors. Arburg just plain suck.
husky is the mecedes benz when it comes to pre-form injection molding. they are probably in the top 1% of brands for top performance. they have the least break-downs, the controls are super user friendly and their customer support cannot be beat!
We have 1 Toshiba machine in our plant and it is a noisy, power consuming, oily relic. Engel, Netstal and Krauss Maffei are some of the best, efficient machines today. Also, with your unloader try using linear interpolation on the Y+ and X+ movements to reduce your cycle. In other words, have the downward movement terminate at the pickup point inside the machine instead of going down, then across to the part. Apologies if your unloader doesn't have this capability
noisy, power consuming, oily relic?? Call you Hydraulic Engineer. My dad Bought Toshiba machine 10 years ago and it still working like new one. like its going to run for another 10 years!!
nissei is the best for fast production parts.....ie: plastic dash-board parts for cars etc......... i don't know about their realiability though.........
go for all electric dude...

Old machine, however Toshiba is the best machine for injection molding on the market.

But i believe Nissei is the best machine to work on. The No. 1 Choice of every Japanese. Although its quiet expensive.
