  • One does not simply dislike this video.

  • FOR GONDOR!!!!! YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!

  • 1:10 orc sniper picks him off, lol

  • FOR WINTERFELL!!

  • This was Lord Rickard Stark,Benjen stark and of course,Ned Stark right after Robert's rebellion when storm's end was liberated.

This idiot has mislabelled the video

  • @sdf227 i am laughing even if i don't know GOT's story so much^^

  • Denethor was driven mad because he had a palentir in which he could see Sauron's growing army. I would have gone insane too lol.

  • i to this day can not stand denethor he was such an ass!!

  • its unfair for Faramir because its just him and about 150 rangers defending Osgiliath, a huge city. ao when mordor attacks there choices are to flee or die then Boromir shows up with a ton of gondor warriors and takes back the city. DENETHOR YOU FUCKING DOUCHE

  • why is it denethor dislike faramir so ?

  • @wintersunset18 Denethor dislikes Faramir because Faramir doesn't show as much strength at arms as Boromir does, that and Boromir is Denethors "First-born". That and, i think it's something to do with Boromir basically had an easier job as a captain of Gondor, because Sauron wasn't quite at his full strength. When Faramor takes over the defense of Osgiliath, he loses the city that his brother "long held intact". Denethor is too lost to realise that Faramir is facing a much worse foe now. Sad :(

  • @wintersunset18 fuck you faggiot

  • Fuck you denethor, thumbs up boromir and faramir

  • I REALLY wish they had kept this in.

    Seriously, this is awesome.

  • Winter is coming..

  • We have reclaimed Osgiliath... FOR WINTERFELL!!

  • faramir looks like john frusciante and theodred looks like a blonde dave grohl

  • Boromir and Smëagol are the two i feel most bad for. Corrupted by the ring, and eventually leading to their death. Boromir might have died a hero though, and was forgiven by Frodo..

  • if he had taken boromir's place he were never betray frondo and the nine companions, all of them were get to mordor

  • Fuck Denethor.

  • Ahhh these scenes make me too sad.

  • Oh, this explain few things :) for those of us who don't want to read the book

  • Gandalf: Your father loves you faramir

    ..yea right.

  • Remember today my little brother...today LIFE IS GOOD!

  • @cheerfighter542

ONE DOES NOT SIMPLY ASK FOR THUMBS UP

  • he was just to mean to faramir. he should've gave him a chance before berating him like that. awesome scene though.

  • All I can see is Richard Sharpe...

  • I dont understand why this wasnt shown in the movie? :( It is an awesome scene

  • BOROMIR IS EVIL!

  • @thesuperbeast46 Boromir isnt evil retard!! The films just made him evil!! Shut up and read the books!!

  • @thesuperbeast46 What? :S

  • THIS VICTORY ONLY BELONGS TO BOROMIR!! NOT FARAMIR!

  • DENETHOR KICKS ASS!! Denethor is awesome!!! fuck you guys!

  • @thesuperbeast46 Son of Ecthelion

  • It's terrible how Denethor had such a bias against his younger son, but at least the two brothers didn't let it come between them (hell, Boromir was on Faramir's side!)

This scene shows who Boromir's character really was, and seeing it brings home the gravity of the Ring situation - it sheds light on how tragic it was that Boromir was eventually corrupted, because he was by no means an evil person.

  • I love this part my new favorite quote in the movie "Today, life is good", so so true.

  • @BumbleBrook Such a great line, I say this to my little brother whenever something good happens to us it never gets old

  • We must stick together; winter is surely coming.

  • hes dead it cant be him he died in the first one how did he come back

  • @nskelly1 It's a flashback, idiot.

  • @nskelly1 -_-

  • @nskelly1 It's a flashback

  • @nskelly1 omfg...

  • Someone who read the book tell me... did Denethor really despiced Faramir this much? All I feel for him is hate. Faramir doesn't deserve so little.

  • @TrapnestShinigami actually its even worse than the movies. at the end he regret what he did to his son but it was too late anyway. btw, you really should read the books

  • @TrapnestShinigami Denethor in the books was not half as despicable as he was in the movies. He was a man of honor and he meant well, but lack of hope and Sauron's spell from the Palantir he used turned him insane. He favoured Boromir over Faramir too, but never sent the latter to certain death in Osgiliath or doubted that he was worthy of being his son etc. Read the books, and you'll pity him, not hate him as a character.

  • @Nemediv

Oh, that's what I wanted to know. Now makes me wanna read them even more.

  • I hate denethor ! D:-

  • @TheStuartCarson None of the stuff up to 0:50 is in the theatrical version. If you have just saw the theatrical version you would not know how he found out about his brothers death.

  • I think we can all agree that the mouth of sauron scene was amazing. Jokes, jokes. This is probably my favorite scene in the extended edition. My favorite part in general is probably Faramir's charge when Pippin is singing.

  • The only reason I don't like this scene was because Denethor ruined it with his: Faramir is bad, Boromir is super talk.

  • Denethor:Without Faramir, this city would still be standing.

Faramir:That's it, I'm gonna go exile myself somewhere where you don't bicker at me, dad.

*Later during the battle of Pelennor fields*

Denethor:WHY DID I HAVE TO BE SO MEAN?!!

  • This clip shows that Boromir isn't evil.

  • @AwkwardBassist17 Certainly. It instead shows Denethor's madness

  • @AwkwardBassist17 He was never evil to begin with.

  • @AwkwardBassist17 ACTUALLY THE CLIP SHOWS THAT BOROMIR IS EVIL!! BOROMIR WAS ALWAYS EVIL!! FUCK YOU

  • @AwkwardBassist17 ACTUALLY IS SHOWS THAT HE IS EVIL!! BOROMIR WAS ALWAYS EVIL IN THE BOOKS

  • @AwkwardBassist17 was there ever any doubt that he wasn't?

  • @AwkwardBassist17 ACTUALLY....BOROMIR IS EVIL.. DUMBFUCK!!

  • @AwkwardBassist17 Who could possibly think, that Boromir is evil?

  • @AwkwardBassist17 He wasn't evil, but he wanted to take the wrong path :(

  • Borimir is a good man.

  • That's it, i don't care if you're watching Lord of the Rings for the first time or re-watching it for the 100th. Just watch the extended version.

  • @nedimkamis yeah that's what I said but it's not in the one that I have. The non-extended one. The stupid one.

  • @quotecat7 They are both good man

  • @nedimkamis yes but hell they left all my favorite scenes out!!!!!!!! (sorry, but Faramir is the coolest of all of them and they cut out every good scene with him/Boromir/Éowyn)

  • Ned stark in his early days I see..

  • Denethor - Father of the Year lol

  • Comment removed

  • I still think the orcs suck, I don't understand why Jackson made look so tough, they can't even fight at day time.

  • i thought that faramir and boromir hated each other

  • @oskr152 No. Boromir always looked after Faramir when they were children, and even in adulthood they were very close. All in the Appendixes of LotR, as usual...

  • Denethor you MOFO I'M GLAD YOU DIED!!! >:C Boromir loved his brother so, and all their father did was kick him down all the time for trying to make him proud.

  • I bet Denethor hates Joffrey Lannister too

  • between the two brothers... who's hotter? ;D

  • @whateverdude18 Faramir all the way, for sure!

  • @whateverdude18 FARAMIR <3

  • This scene was filmed one year afte lotr 3 was filmed. They did shot all the ecstended version afte lotr 3. That is why they did not include this tape in lotr 2 :-)

  • I wish there was a scene with Boromir fighting in Osgiliath!!! Would have been awesome!

  • @judaspriestrock Sup David xD

  • This is only one of many scenes in the LOTR films that really should have been included. The talking with the Mouth of Sauron was removed, IMPORTANT SCENE.!, This scene really explains why Faramir was considered a lower son to Denethor. Many scenes involving Isengard were also removed which were key to the story, LIKE SARUMAN DYING.

  • @nickbaderSR OK but the mouth-of-sauron scene is just embarrassing. I nearly died laughing because it was so bad...

  • This scene should never have been put on the chopping block for theatrical release.

It effectively demonstrates how easily the One Ring could corrupt even the greatest of men, thus redeeming the character from his more petty behavior in the first movie.

  • this shoulda been in the film, boromir is made out mostly as a twat without it.

  • Boromir is awesome!

  • I never realized how renowned Boromir was among his people. It makes me admire him more. I feel sorry for Faramir though. :(

  • I hate when they cut important parts of the movie.

  • @Feanorielle "Cause he was always being compared to Boromir. I know it sounds like he should hate hhis dad instead, but lots of people do this: They can't hate someone they want affenction from so they hate the person the affection is poured out on.

  • i just want to give faramir a big hug and tell him it'll be ok in the end. poor guy.

  • you would think that that trip down the falls woulda capsized that boat...

  • Whoever made the decision to cut this scene is an idiot

  • @flash3999 Its not a deleted scene its an extended scene. I obviously like the extended editions but you can't expect the average moviegoer to sit through a 3 1/2 - 4hour movie so many of the nonessential (albeit still awesome) scenes like this one had to go. I'm just happy they were eventually released.

  • I love how Denethor talks of lesser men, when he himself is a clear definition of a lesser man.

  • one does not simply ROCK into MORDORRRRRR!!!!

  • Love how the characters develop like that. If I was faramir I would have hated borimir, but he still loves him simply because he's his brother. Makes me respect faramir so much more!

  • @sparrow458 Why would you have hated Boromir if you was Faramir? Boromir was being a good big brother for Faramir, looking after him and standing up for him when Denethor tried to put him down.

  • @sparrow458

They love one another. Denethor is the one poisoning everything.

  • @sparrow458 Boromir also continues to love his brother even with his Father favorotism over him. No Jealousy Hate or Misunderstading ever affect this two brothers love what amazing characters

  • @sparrow458 Hate him? why? Boromir loved Faramir too. Boromir did not purposely do any of that stuff..it was their father who put him ahead. If you would hate your brother just because your parents prefer him then thats just stupid of you. Just saying.

  • @sparrow458 Yup, actually is Boromir's love and commitment that saved Merry Pippin and his brother all the time. Faramir can't hate Boromir for being the favorite as he is the only one that actually trust and supports him and actually believes in him.

What I don't like is that Frodo never founds out about Boromir and his true intentions.

  • I liked farimir when i first saw LOTR. but then i read the books, and completely LOVED his character. FARIMIR!. in my opinion 13 people have absolutely no taste. :)

  • sean bean<3

  • Sean Bean.. Boromir, Ned Stark, Sharpe... Literally the best characters ever...

  • @Splinta57 Boromir is so different than Ned Stark.....the mark of fine acting.

  • @Splinta57 don't forget Odysseus/ Ulysses in Troy.

  • This guy's name is not Sean Bean, It's Boromir!

  • WINTER IS COMMING

  • This scene is one of the reasons why I only consider the Extended Edition the true version of the movies. Just through this one scene both the characters of Boromir and Faramir become so much more 3-dimensional. Both characters were introduced as jerks (at least in the movies) and they both get redeemed instantly throughout this scene because we finally get their motivation. And their motivation is the worst dad since Gendo Ikari from Evangelion.

  • I really hated how Boromir was portraid in the movies. He was made to be an asshole from the start where really he was a hero to his people. At least this scene redeems him slightly.

  • @N0nC0mprende He's completely redeemed in the movies.

  • Only boromir could make long blond hair look manly.

  • Comment removed

  • epic speech, sean bean is the man!

  • boromir and faramir big love of brothers but boromir was a nice man only the Ring made him little evil

  • sean bean is awesome

  • This reminds me how awesome the acting in these films is.

  • why the hell isn't it in the film???? people who haven't read the book understand nothing without that scene! the won't understand why

-faramir acts the way he does intending to send the ring to his father

-how he could know about boromir's death when even frodo and sam didn't know!

This scene is just brilliant, it should be in!!

  • @quotecat7 i dont get it, i watched this film just the other day, and this scene was in it.

  • @Asurezze cuz you probably watched the extended version without knowing. This is from the extended and it's nowhere on the "normal" DVD. Not on the german one, anyway, but judging on all those comments, it won't be on the american, either.

  • @Asurezze you prabaly watched the extended version without knowing. this scene is form the extended and it can't be found on the "normal" DVD. And that really sucks 'cause they cut out all my favorite scenes....

  • @quotecat7 Its in watch the extended edition of the movie

  • @quotecat7 its in the extended versions of the movie

  • @quotecat7 yep, its like kingdom of heaven. If you didn´t see the extended version you wont understand nothing. For that reason i always download extended version movies xD

  • @quotecat7 Well this is in the extended edition :P So people can still watch it in the film as normal as they want. Plus everything up to 0:50 is in the theatrical version. So they audience would understand how faramir knew his brother was dead.

  • Sean Bean is so friggin awesome it almost hurts!

  • GOD THAT SPEECH IF FUCKING MOTIVATING! IMMA MAKE A TIME MACHINE GO BACK IN TIME AND BE GREAT FUCKING LEADER LIKE BOROMIR AND CREATE AN EVERLASTING FUCKING KINGDOM CALLED GONDOR IN UK!!!!!

  • FOR THE NORTH!

  • Too bad they got it all wrong... Boromir actually wanted to go to Rivendell, and Denethor was never like that to Faramir in the books.

  • @TheDFixx he was, if i remember the book correctly. At least he always made him feel that if boromir was in his place, he'd made everything right and he wouldn't have lost osgiliath and so on....and i think faramir was the one who was supposed to go, but boromir went.

  • @quotecat7 Faramir was supposed to go yes, but Boromir wanted to go instead. Its true Denethor favored Boromir, but he didnt really show that untill Boromir died.

  • Why dosent boromir say " for winterfell!" ???

  • PAUSE at 2:18 ...Now, contemplate the geekrage with which I point out that to the left of Denethor as we see it, at least one Gondorian Soldier is holding a 2nd Age Numenorean (old Gondor) Soldier Battle Shield. Trust me, there is a difference between the ones most hold and this one. Peace out. One Geek to Rule them ALL...

  • @ThePalaeontologist shit, ure right. i never saw that :o

  • Why was this not in thenon-extended version of the movie!

  • 1:00

Does anyone else think Boromir looks like the lead singer in a Metal band?

  • This should have been in the original release, sean bean is just too awesome :P

  • How did Ned Stark end up here?

  • @JAM5227 More importantly how did Boromir end up in Westeros.... it would be cool though to see Middile Earth vs Westeros...

  • Why does denethor hate faramir so much and loves boromir so much more!? Can somebody please explain it to me?

  • @gmsesq Because he is his firstborn....and denethor is a chump

  • @gmsesq As far as I heard it it's because Denethor's wife died while giving birth to Faramir. And as for Boromir: Well how could you NOT love your son so much if he is Sean Bean XD

  • Fuck Denethor. Seriously.

  • Denethor, Winter is Coming!

  • 13 People disliked the video not because of Boromir and Faramir's awesomeness, but because of Denethor's douchebagginess.

  • What a great scene...

  • Denethor's a douche. How can you hate someone just because they're NOT Sean Bean. That's an impossibly high standard to aspire to.

  • @jakobitis89 I hate my self for not being Sean Bean.

  • @taxcollector1000 Everyone does. Except Sean Bean. He just feels regret for overshadowing the rest of humanity.

  • @jakobitis89 Denethor is NOT A DOUCHE!!! THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A DOUCHE!!!

  • @jakobitis89 Your comment made my day!

  • @HistorienneDeLis You're welcome.

  • Aw, never saw that before. I love Faramir so much (ultimate favorite character of the movie). This scene should've been kept in the movie (I know it's in the extended edition) but yeah.

  • So basically Faramir's motives become, "Daddy didn't love me, I'll show him I'm a worthy son". I don't care what Philipa Boyens says, Faramir could have been the same as in the books and it wouldn't be "death on film".

  • what would had happen if faramir goes to rivendel instead of boromir?

  • @xhgc who knows, maybe he could of died in moria, or maybe amon hen like his brother, maybe he could of lived amon hen, and merry and pippin would of been taken, if he lived in amon hen, Aragorn wouldnt be mourning his passing and could of caught up with frodo and sam and they would keep moving to get merry and pippin and so on..

  • @xhgc If Faramir went instead of Boromir? Well, when Frodo goes for his little wander near Tol Brandir, he decides what to do (go on alone), comes back unmolested, the rest of the company refuse to let him go on alone and accompany him, fight off Saruman's little raiding party and continue down into Mordor. Meanwhile, Isengard is triumphant over Rohan, the Uruks now charge the field of Pelennor instead of the Rohirrim, Gandalf is slain in Minas Tirith. Good thing Boromir went!

  • Fuck denethor !

  • Out of all the scenes that were cut out for the theatrical release, this is the sole scene that I never understood why they would leave it on the cutting room floor. Adds much needed character to someone new like Faramir and framing/context for Sean Bean's brilliant portrayal of Boromir. Plus how the two actors look remarkably like real family.

  • Boromir is cool!

  • I agree this scene should never have been left out. It not only rounds out the story of the brothers and their father (even if less than totally accurate from the book); it is also visually stunning. On the big screen that moment where Boromir draws the sword would have been iconic.

As for this video - there should be three thumbs to choose from, based on all the posts here: 1) Like, 2) Dislike, and 3) Denethor is a Dick.

  • What does Boromir say before ''These men are thirsty''?

  • @mattsson20 Break out the ale.

  • "FOR GONDOR"

    *slips*

    "BALLS!"

  • I don't like the way they portrayed Denethor in the movies... In the book he was strong willed and a strong leader... It was because of his leadership that Gondor stayed intact as long as it did... Only the Palantir he posessed made him go mad...

  • @TheNavyGonzo well i think the movie just potrayed Denethor when he started to be brainwashed by the Palantir, but Gandalf told in the movie that before that he was a great leader for Gondor

  • This was one of the movies my team and I watched on the bus ride to new York for a lax tourney and after every win, we would all scream, "THIS VICTORY HAS BEEN CLAIMED, FOR GONDOR! FOR GONDOR! FOR GONDOR!" hahaha yeah, we're nerds :p

  • love faramirs fake laugh at 1:49

  • Kick a $ $!!!

  • Aaah Ned Stark - what a leader :')

  • @davoisakoollord Sharpe is the best though

  • Denethor is such a dick

  • fuck you denethor even boromir is nicer

  • The faces Faramir makes when his father insults him are always heart breaking. TT__TT
