@rog5301 you should always full length resize if you are using for the ar. You do not always have to if you are loading for a regular rifle if you do not over pressure the cases
Good set of videos ! I've watched all 4 of them, but I have one question for you..... What primers do you use in the loads for your AR ?? I have heard that Fed. are NOT safe to use due to "Slam Firing"....? I use CCI Bench Rest when I load for my Heavy barreled Savage "Critter Gitter"....
yea I use winchester or CCI. CCI in these videos. I hvae used feds and never had any problems. Ive had fail to fire's before but i would just run it back through the gun and it would fire. never had a slamfire. hell Ive even used small pistol primers in AR bullets when I ran out of rifle and still didnt have slam fires and they have a thinner surface.
the only time you DONT want to full length size is after the brass has been shot out of the bolt action rifle that it will be going back into. everything else has to be full length sized or it will get stuck in the chamber. the only time you can neck size is if you shot brass out of gun X and will be reloading the same brass for gun x. thats how I was tought. im sure there are ways around that but that is the safest way to do it and not go wrong. thanks for watching, I hope I helped.
what is better about using a hand primer when the machine does it for you. how much will a press like this cost used?
