Leafs overpaid for Kessel by one 1st rounder - a 1st and 2nd would have been more like it. But Leafs got even with B's and then some with the Kaberle trade. Kabs played sub-par with Boston (got booed out of there) and worse in Carolina. Meanwhile, Leafs got Joe Colborne, 1st pick who turned out to be Tyler Biggs and 2d pick who Burke parlayed to Colorado for JM Liles, essentially Kab's replacement, who is BETTER than Kabs - he shoots the puck! And all this "for nothing" - Kabs was a UFA!!

my favorite was one of the few I actually got to watch live, at 5:24 in that game against the Sharks, where Wilson won his 600th. The fact he had the patience for that shot is unbelievable, one of my favorite Kessel goals ever. (I saw it on the san jose broadcast as well, I didn't have to listen to SCORRRRRRRRRES)

@killyou45 I believe that if the Capitals win a cup it won't be just Ovechkin contributing, it will be mostly Backstrom, Johanson, Beagle, Carlson, Green etc. The majority of the teams have figured out Ovechkin's style of play which has him against the boards trying to shoot from near impossible angles. I watch a lot of Capitals games and have noticed this, other teams have him covered. Don't get me wrong Ovechkin is a great player but his style of hockey in most cases has been figured out.

Connolly should help him more than Bozak did, good chance at 40 goals for Kessel. People have to remember that Kessel is only 23. Still young and not in his prime yet. He still has a few years to mature as a hockey player. He has the potential to score 50 in his career, in my opinion.
