@unknowna2 I don't think they ran out of funding. Their website and trailers didn't get a lot of traction in the late stages of development. Also not many people signed up for the beta. Not enough to spend more money on the game I guess.

The lawsuits were from workers who were PROMISED to get payed next week, then pushed to the next week, etc. It eventually built up to where they weren't getting paychecks for weeks, and even up to months. Most struggled because of sudden change in income (no longer getting paid because the company ran out of money), So some were forced to move, or lost their homes, and had trouble finding a new job to support their family. The lawsuits weren't only from workers btw, but also from investors.
Forgot to mention; The lawsuits were to get that money that they earned. The company should've either laid people off, or told them "we can't pay you". Not "We'll get money to pay you next week" or "we have another investor, the money should arrive in two weeks!". The company literally straight up lied to their workers to try and get as much done on the game they could (they known where the money situation was heading) thus causing problems for many families.

It won't come out, A family member worked there (not releasing any more info for chance of them finding out). The company ran out of money, didn't pay their employees, kept saying I'll pay you this day and kept pushing the date. So 98% of the people left, and the only people that stayed are the ones that are now probably working for free. Long story short, It won't come out. They company had law suits charged against them.

I agree, some fantasy's have done a good job, cant say wow didnt do something right. but the stargate concept is such a perfect setting for an mmo. and its different in that its modern/futuristic combat, and the fact that its sci-fi. some sci-fi shows or books or what ever have such a good setting for an mmo, But no one is willing to try. They have the option to make mmo's, but instead of going outside the box they look straight to fantasy. This will be a good popular game IF its done right.
war what? haha, the stargate idea has been around for over 16 years. with 3 movies, a 10 season series (which was longest running) a 5 season spin off series, numerous animations, fan sites, mods etc etc and mgm's backing. it doesnt come with a bigger fanbase than that. the fantasy genre is well and truely DEAD in the water, Wow owns that pond, all the other fish (i.e game developers) should just fucking accept it, annoys the hell out of me that everyone copys wows style. just leave it already.
This game has alot of hype, and if what they are planning for content, combat etc, if they pull that off it will definetly be the strongest contender against wow, but thats a big IF.
actualy the biggest contender against wow is warhammer online. i od't think stargate has a good enough chance to make it that far. warhammer and warcraft have been a franchise way before stargate. so am prity safe to say they have a massive fan base that outbats stargate.
Actually I agree with JB9208, Stargate has been around since 1998 (the tv series) and has a huge fan base, already over 150,000 people have signed up for the beta and with their new combat engine ( the Unreal 3 Engine: Gears of War's engine) they will over come WoW very quickly.
It's also comparing apples to oranges though. Everybody knows, despite Fantasy being over done so much, that it's simply the most popular choice. Tabula Rasa had a wonderful concept but even gameplay wise it lacked in some aspects that just makes Fantasy that much more loveable. For the most part I'm hoping this is more of a Tabula Rasa clone than anything... better version of course.
All i want from this game is to be able to explore places on my own! They should have made this an RPG instead :/ Sinse they didnt i hope they dont get hung up with to much PvP concept!
Tabula Rasa touched ground on some new aspects in the MMO genre that I would like to see in future Sci Fi games. For the most part TR was actually pretty well... until about January where shit went to hell. I would like to see SGWO become somewhat in relationship to TR like WoW is to EQ... a copy but does what the original did better.
i can defontaly see where ur coming from. but in my opinion. and thats all it is XD a tv show fan base does not always transfer over to the games. i mean out of all the fans of stargate not all are going to be interested in rpgs. adding a monthly subscription and making it online will lessen the number even more. now i aint saying its going to bomb. because i hope to go it doesn't. i just don't see it over taking wow anytime soon. mmo are very difficult to get right first time
In all honesty when i first looked at this a year ago i thought it was going to be crud, but they developers have had the best input and this is truely going to rival all MMO's and I think i can safely say the support on the forums is already rivaling that of the Current MMO Leader Eve Online.
this is an mmorpg, and wow is leading mmorpg's atm unfortunately. hopefully Stargate worlds will take that away from them, but would be a few years before that happens haha

it seems to be more SG1 than SGA I thought cuz it was called Sg worlds it would have both Galaxies. It sg1 sites, but i really couldnt tell if that was atlantis at 2:41 i dont think it is now that im looking again so im guessing it will be more about sg1

I agree, some fantasy's have done a good job, cant say wow didnt do something right. but the stargate concept is such a perfect setting for an mmo. and its different in that its modern/futuristic combat, and the fact that its sci-fi. some sci-fi shows or books or what ever have such a good setting for an mmo, But no one is willing to try. They have the option to make mmo's, but instead of going outside the box they look straight to fantasy. This will be a good popular game IF its done right.

war what? haha, the stargate idea has been around for over 16 years. with 3 movies, a 10 season series (which was longest running) a 5 season spin off series, numerous animations, fan sites, mods etc etc and mgm's backing. it doesnt come with a bigger fanbase than that. the fantasy genre is well and truely DEAD in the water, Wow owns that pond, all the other fish (i.e game developers) should just fucking accept it, annoys the hell out of me that everyone copys wows style. just leave it already.

actualy the biggest contender against wow is warhammer online. i od't think stargate has a good enough chance to make it that far. warhammer and warcraft have been a franchise way before stargate. so am prity safe to say they have a massive fan base that outbats stargate.

Actually I agree with JB9208, Stargate has been around since 1998 (the tv series) and has a huge fan base, already over 150,000 people have signed up for the beta and with their new combat engine ( the Unreal 3 Engine: Gears of War's engine) they will over come WoW very quickly.

It's also comparing apples to oranges though. Everybody knows, despite Fantasy being over done so much, that it's simply the most popular choice. Tabula Rasa had a wonderful concept but even gameplay wise it lacked in some aspects that just makes Fantasy that much more loveable. For the most part I'm hoping this is more of a Tabula Rasa clone than anything... better version of course.

Tabula Rasa touched ground on some new aspects in the MMO genre that I would like to see in future Sci Fi games. For the most part TR was actually pretty well... until about January where shit went to hell. I would like to see SGWO become somewhat in relationship to TR like WoW is to EQ... a copy but does what the original did better.

i can defontaly see where ur coming from. but in my opinion. and thats all it is XD a tv show fan base does not always transfer over to the games. i mean out of all the fans of stargate not all are going to be interested in rpgs. adding a monthly subscription and making it online will lessen the number even more. now i aint saying its going to bomb. because i hope to go it doesn't. i just don't see it over taking wow anytime soon. mmo are very difficult to get right first time

In all honesty when i first looked at this a year ago i thought it was going to be crud, but they developers have had the best input and this is truely going to rival all MMO's and I think i can safely say the support on the forums is already rivaling that of the Current MMO Leader Eve Online.
