But that's why I like watching this program. Its probably the closest any of us ordinary folk will ever get to knowing what REALLY goes on in those exclusive corridors of power. I know Spooks is just a brilliantly written and directed drama but there is more truth in what it portrays than most people think. Most ordinary people wouldn't be able to stomach the reality of what truly happens while they sleep in their beds. Spooks hints at it. Dares to look. Im surprised its still on our screens

I like fictionalised characters on tv, I don't want the real thing to come up to me. I am happy being an ordinary nobody. Just think though - there are people who watch us, and people who watch the people who watch us, and then there is someone who watches all of us. No matter how sophisticated intelligence a country may have, or how ruthless they are, they all answer to a greater power. Imagine meeting the Creator of the entire universe and explaining your actions to him.

Completely and utterly disagree! Spooks does not in any way represent the work of the SIS/Security Services/Intelligence services. It is a complete fallacy. Mi5 themselves warn all potential recruits that expecting your life as an IO is most of the time boring and dull.

Spooks is a great show, but their plots are at best completely unimaginable (like 5 untrained socialist terrorists taking the bernhodf group hostage, who conveniently only have 4 guards...) nothing like working for SIS.

if you say so, but then what do you know? I like watching the program because it fits into the scenario of history and politics. Of course it will not be totally based on truth because the producers would probably get themselves into all kinds of trouble. It;s just a program of course. I would rather watch a well-made semi-almost-true story about real life scenarios than sit and watch the endless drivel coming out of the US like CSI, etc. Give me good olde British drama anyday.

well you will never really know unless you are involved in that kind of business. I happen to think that most of the stories in the show have an element of truth. Of course, they are fictionalised and made to appear a bit far-fetched but from what I have read about the things that go on in the halls of power, I would say the program is closer to the truth in a twisted kind of way. Anyway, I prefer to watch a show that is well made with good actors. I loathe CSI and most of the US shows.

Yeah, it probably is. Check out the site of MI5 and MI6. If you should believe them, they would have no more power than ordinary traffic agents. Pure bullshit of course. In their FAQ's, they clearly talk around the question and give no answers. Man, I love the UK.

I have come to the conclusion that there is nothing that isn't as true as it looks in politics. Even the bad guys are not as bad as the so-called good guys. And who are the good guys in the real world of murky deals and broken agreements? Only God knows who all the REAL players are. I take comfort from the fact that the Bible actually puts such people on notice. For the time being, they get to run this world and make up the rules as they go. The real fun will begin when their time is up.

Top class drama that the Brits deliver again and again. I'm really quite amazed that this kind of drama is being made for television. Its not too contrived that it looks contrived and its not too farcical that you feel you are being fed a lot of propaganda. Its kind of somewhere in between true and false, real and imagined. Its a bit like the murky world of politics. You never know if what you are watching is true or just in your mind. I'm a big fan of this show. I watch it diligently eachweek

Its hugely popular back home which is why its still being made, but dont be fooled into thinking all of our T V is like this. We also have some appalling, low grade crap to put up with-because there is an appetite for that as well lol
