capitalist aren't loyal to america.. they take jobs from americans and give them to other countries because of cheaper labor..no loyality.. socialist on the other hand are loyal because they believe that americans own america so they of course are going to be loyal and not sell it out to the highest bidder as a capitalist would..
Let's be liberal. ......Let's let a few "so called" ....."elite people"... run our lives.....they are smarter than us. They know better than us, they are better than us, We are just fools. Despite our education and degrees from schools "other than Harvard, Yale...."....
Trust them. they have your best interest in mind. They will take care of you..Who want's to be "taken care of" ?...From the very moment you learned how to walk as an infant.....didn't you want to walk away?
@H4RDC0R3SUP3RST4 That's idiotic. I've been near and below the poverty line my entire life, but when I look around at my peers I don't see people willing to do anything for themselves. I see girls getting pregnant with children they can't support, then going out and getting drunk and smoking; and I see a bunch of guys who are apparently so macho that real work is beneath their expectations. Handouts and dependence are always their guiding assumptions.
Well thanks for clearing that up. I am so glad someone finally took the time to personally interview every person on earth who are "near and below the poverty line...". I had an idea that those in poverty obviously chose to be there. Just as I suspected that every wealthy person must have worked so hard to achieve that success and never received any help.
Your exhaustive investigative work is appreciated. You're going to get a promotion for this, I can feel it! :>)
@drbayoms Nice straw man. Which of course, necessarily means I'm in a delusional state when I witness the same bullshit every day. Hell, I just got a new neighbor who openly refuses to work, because work means you don't get as much money from the state every month. I fail to see how making social services dependent on effort, rather than entitlement, is evil, draconian, blah blah blah. Get a life silverspoon, you've never seen poverty in your life you vicarious tool.
You refer to me as a silverspoon. But by your initial "thought process" (I use that term loosely), people like me or my family enjoy this ability to "walk between the raindrops".........because we earned it, right? Weren't you suggesting that those in poverty who live in close proximity to you, ARE lazy? And as a result of that laziness they have failed? But here's my question. How did YOU fall into that poverty? Was it laziness on your part. Or the laziness of your parents?
@drbayoms Actually yes, the laziness and irresponsibility of my parents. I can't change that, it is what it is--and having kids in your teens and early twenties was exactly what society told them they could do. Seems to have worked out pretty well. Lost my brother to drugs, my sister to jail, a few dozen friends along the way, while surviving shitbag HS instructors, slavedrivers, and going to college to bang out straight A's and put down a 170 on the LSAT. Just what have you done? NOTHING.
Society never told your parents to have children while they were teens (is that yet another excuse). Their inability to purchase and properly use a condom (unfortunately) is the only reason you are here. "Lost my brother to drugs....". Personally, nobody cares. You have a degree, great. I've walked across a University stage and did the whole hand shake and smile thing, TWICE. You have insecurities (like Thomas) in regards to your upbringing. Forget the LSAT, see a therapist.
@drbayoms Oh god, here we go--and I'm sure all the idiots who bought houses they couldn't afford and all those who live well beyond their means are just victims of greedy corporate shadow conspiracies, right? Now my accomplishments are mere insecurity. Sure. Try making a consistent argument instead of attacking with ad hominems, because they only discredit your claims of having any education past community college. Your own comments speak directly to the insecurity you describe--classic.
There is nothing more sad than self-loathing souls who think that everyone ELSE'S failures are a sin. While their own failures was just a "stroke of bad luck" : > )
@drbayoms Well if straw men were arguments, you'd get the gold at the special olympics. You're basing you're argument about poverty's innocence within the context of a video about an obese propagandist who spreads halfbaked claims about "the evil evil corporate healthcare conspiracy"--in a country where skyrocketing pool risk is the primary reason our HC costs are so astronomically high, risk that is mostly because of entitled fatasses like himself. Good luck buddy.
So “pool risk” is the reason? I believe it is called "Risk Pool", you twit. Rising healthcare cost have literally hundreds of reasons for "skyrocketing". The expanding RISK POOL is not the "primary reason". I challenge you to turn off "HALO" and tell us about overpricing of Med equipment & drugs. Here's one you could research after surfing for porn. Tell us about the AMA putting pressure on Medical Schools in the mid 80's to limit the number of Doctors they accept......
@drbayoms Oh my gawd, you're absolutely not worth the time if you can't distinguish between what a "risk pool" (a fixed variable) is and what aggregate pool risk is (an independent variable). I love how you're already not addressing my points, but instead launching oblique personal attacks. Sorry pal, go look at the leading most expensive illnesses in the US, and you will quickly find our costs are directly proportional to skyrocketing POOL RISK due to irresponsible personal behavior.
@thereinliestherib ….You seem to be a fish out of water. Explain to us how a Dr’s salary affects Med insurance cost. Or can you? These are but a few of the MANY reasons Medical care is so high. Give us a little intellectual “nugget” about the government being in bed with Big Pharma. Explain to us (if you can) how the cost of a Doctor’s education is passed down to patients. Even 10-12 years AFTER that Doctor leaves Med School. Your degree is not worth the idiot who holds it.
@drbayoms Explain to me how govt collusion with Big Pharma doesn't reach its most explicit example in a mandate to purchase highly monopolized insurance products; explain to me how disproportional individual risk doesn't effect the disparate distribution of health costs, despite being Obamacare's most significant funding mechanism; explain to me how a 75% obesity/overweight rate doesn't have any direct impact on HC costs... Oh why bother, you won't answer these questions anyway.
I figured as much. Not one single answer to any of my questions. You answered my questions.....with a question. Undoubtedly because you can't answer any of the ones I posed initially. Show me a single Dr. who will NOT support what the Medical community and studies determined is the biggest factor in the health of American patients, that being direct access to medical/routine care. I am (again) challenging you to counter ANY statement I made in my previous post.
@drbayoms Once again, you completely skirt my rebuttals to your stupid claims. The majority of the HC community supports increased cost liabilities because their GODDAMN salary is directly proportional to the redistribution of risk that goes with abyssmal national health. I dare YOU to show me one non-fuckbag doctor willing to venture the fact that obesity, overweight, smoking, and irresponsible personal choices are the cause of disproportional costs, given cascading stats in support of such.
I see that college of yours did not offer an English class. I did not say Big Pharma is in bed with the Gov. I asked YOU for an “intellectual nugget” on that topic. Because I know your type believes that Big Pharma & the Gov are 2 sides of the same coin. And lo and behold (right on cue) you speak of “collusion”. I personally believe drug prices would go down as a result of a UHCare model.
@drbayoms Apparently you need to get your tuition back, because you lack basic reading comprehension. My prior rebuttal to your claims about costs: "Sorry pal, go look at the leading most expensive illnesses in the US..."
Now please, for the sake of your professional dignity, list for me the most common and most expensive ailments in America, and let's see how much of our national HC expenditures are actually due to chance, accidents, and evil corporate conspiracies.
So, you are telling me that good hardworking Doctor's, Big Pharma, Med equipment companies & Wall St investors are in a cahoots to manipulate the masses? You are telling me that it is possible for individual organizations with power and reach to co-opted a system to take advantage of those without power? You are an idiot.
@drbayoms Quit avoiding my points. If doctors are so smart, then quit confirming my claim that they are entitled, greedy, selfish elitists by skirting any actual direct rebuttal of my claims. What are the top most prevalent and costly ailments in this country sir? What proportion did obesity alone consume out of national HC expenditures? Are you real real sure that disproportional national HC costs are because of the "vast corporate conspiracy" claimed by liberal automata like yourself???
In America everyone of these Doctor’s have worked hard for their salary. Their personal responsibility & hard work is the reason for their success. How dare you insult them. I guess now you will try to slander the insurance companies. Surely you do not believe that insurance companies only care about making money? If so prove it. When you insult Dr’s you insult insurance companies.
@drbayoms Labor works harder for their salary and they don't get shit. Soldiers do too--don't get shit. This is exactly the kind of entitlement that disgusts me about the white collar classes--everyone else is an unwashed rube, while contradictorily you depend on those rubes to pay your salary through inflated premiums, taxes, mandates, etc. If this were a healthy country, you'd be out of the job--it's that simple, and that's why doctors have a financial stake in perpetuating poor health.
Me liberal? When liberals stop turning fetuses into milkshakes, maybe they will get my vote, although in your case. My last set of comments were purposely typed with hyperbole. I needed you to rail against professionals. You know those who have achieved a high level of success through sacrifice & discipline. Or was it “personal responsibility”, as you stated to (puffball9). Because I know that your disdain for UHCare has very little to do with.....Health care.
@drbayoms you are a sick puppy.. you are so brainwashed by the republican haters.. so full of rediculous thoughts.. only a sick mind would come up with something like fetus milkshakes.. unless you actually drink them you sick conservative...glad ur in the gop.. we dont need sick minds like yours in a civil society.
So I am now a member of the GOP because I will not buy into the lie that a fetus is not a living creature, and that the right to kill that fetus is an expression of freedom? Because I refuse to let a woman tell me that it should be her decision whether or not she can terminate (KILL) the LIFE of a child simply because he/she has not passed between her legs yet? Nope, sorry, not a member of the GOP. I do not believe in playing G_d before a child is born or after they are on Death Row
The vast number of Soldiers joining the Army are not coming from my area. Soldiers joining the Army is based on income, not patriotism. I think you know what I mean. Recruiters don’t even bother coming to our area. If Soldiers could trade those ACU's for a Lab coat. They would do it in a heart beat. No pun intended.
@thereinliestherib Your place in society is of your own doing (I think one of us said that before). So don’t blame Doctors for your being stuck in a generational cycle of blue collar, low wage randomness. Funny how men and women who go to school for a 4 year undergrad, followed by 4 years of Med School (with no salary) and then on to another 4 to 9 years of 80+ hour weeks making no more than 45k don’t really work hard.
Your pull yourself up by the boot straps ideology does not always work. Even my family knows that. Reading some of your comments to others your “theme” seems to be that successful application of personal responsibility should not be punished . But by that “Logic” my personal responsibility and my parents responsibility and my grandfather’s responsibility is the reason we enjoy the lifestyle we have grown accustomed to. Is that what you are saying? If so Thanks!
Bobbing and weaving is good if someone is actually throwing punches at you. My entire back and forth was to bring you to the complete hypocrisy of your holier than thou attitude. If it is indeed true that the social responsibility of a person ALWAYS lead to success, then Doctors are the epitome of that belief. If you DISAGREE, then maybe you are no better than the “redistributionist” if you will.
Yes, my “how dare you” 3 paragraph post was sarcastic. Because deep down I know you are an insecure little boy who is angry that mom and dad did not grease the rails a little bit better. There is nothing wrong with blue collar work. There, you heard a “silver spooner” say it. Let that free you of the demons that haunt you. Anyone who can suggest that all wealthy people EXCEPT Doctors earned their pay honestly is just plain stupid. But I must admit, this is fun.
@drbayoms Do you really think I give a shit? You haven't been able to address a single one of my posts. The claim that you have any sort of professional education is absolutely laughable; and yet, typical.
@thereinliestherib How dare you insinuate that America Doctors, who are the best in the world are some how basing their arguments for Universal Health Care on the idea of preserving their high incomes! That claim is baseless, sir. We live in America. And our country is full of Doctors who would not dare put profit before patient. How dare you. When you insult Doctors, you insult insurance companies. Can you prove any of this?
@drbayoms America has the shittiest, snobbiest, most entitled doctors in the world. You're being sarcastic right? I mean you've basically already admitted that your part of the "golden handcuffs" dynamic that reshapes doctors/lawyers into ambulance chasing parasites. Doctors are fucking morons--their opinions are no different than trial lawyers (democrats) who constantly whine and moralize for increased liabilities because their own salaries are at stake in such wasteful spending.
You are giving the Medical establishment too much power. Doctors & Insurance Companies have NO POWER. And you have no clue what you are talking about. So now Doctors, Big Pharma & the 1000’s of Wall Street investors who invest in Medicine/Healthcare everyday are simply trying to screw John Q. Public over? I don’t buy it. PROVE IT!
@drbayoms Wait a minute--I'm the one giving the "dark side" doctors and insurance companies too much power? Our own smoker president--in a country where smoking related illness still represent one of the most acutely disproportional drains on HC--signed a bill in 09 basically giving trillions of dollars in guaranteed revenue to the "evil" industry through mandates, gerrymandered buying restrictions, and required excessive coverage to force more healthy people into pools with lardass smokers.
Your benighted theory that Americans should just stop eating and run 5 miles is way off base. And admittedly, in our back and forth it becomes clear you are only capable of that. But, I am an optimist. So I hope that you would learn that education and intellectual nuance can not be attained through simply taking some online courses at the Univ of Phoenix. Again I beg you to give me something more in regards to lowering health care cost than “put down that bowl of ice cream”.
@drbayoms Oh god, another obesity apologist--sorry dude, there is no evidence that poor health is primarily because of prior systemic factors. Growing up poor, my health was one of the few things over which I knew I had direct control. I love how institutionalized idiots like yourself only talk about bad health, which wholly elides the existence of so many who are exposed to the same conditions, yet remain healthy. You're a fucking greedy ignorant scumbag--end of story.
@thereinliestherib As for your “accomplishments being tied to insecurity”. What most of Americans have learned is the best way to destroy Blacks (which is not my goal) is not to prevent them from having an equal right to a quality education. The way to destroy them is to give that opportunity to a small few of them and then stand back. Because just as in the days of old. The more “learned” Blacks will discriminate against and destroy their own. I suspect that you are that type.
@drbayoms Oh boy, a race baiter who believes he's not a racist. That's your type. Minorities have been given special grants, rights, and priviliges for years, and whatever smaller successes have come of it have been more than offset by the entitlement effect. Go figure, when you lower standards you corrode a community's will to help itself--who woulda thought? Disparate racial outcomes are primarily a product of ethic, which is why liberals ignore stats on other "overachieving" minorities.
"Get off the couch and do something," said Moore. Mr. Moore, it looks like it has been a good god damn fifteen years since your fat, slob, lard-ass has gotten off the couch. If it weren't for capitalism, you wouldn't have been able to make your movies (and i use that term very loosely), and i doubt highly you would give up your mansion, fortune, and glutenous amounts of food you consume to abolish capitalism and put you in a shitty poor position with everyone else by getting to communism!
@puffball9 Yeah, there's nothing like a socialized health care advocate running their mouth about corporate conspiracies... in a country with a 70% obesity/overweight rate, in which the increasing cost of health care is primarily caused by plummeting American health, costs that are systematically passed on to the healthy. If Moore really wanted to reform health care, then he'd support charging by the pound. That'll be the day!
@thereinliestherib Yes since he is all for higher taxes and national health care we should do just that. since no one knows how much Obama-care is going to cost each person yet let us establish a rule now. Income taxes are highest to people who make the most money so therefore, a morbidly obese lard-ass like Michael Moore and the demon that lives in his belly, is going to pay millions of dollars in weight taxes which will supplement Obama-care as opposed to Paris Hilton who will only pay $20.
@puffball9 So what? The scenario you cite perfectly explains the lack of representativeness in our health care costs. Making the unhealthy take fiscal responsibility for their own poor choices is the only way to fix the initial problem of an obscenely unhealthy population. Your class baiting makes no sense either: should good, rich drivers pay more for car insurance just because they're rich?? And do you ever wonder if personal responsibility is what made that person wealthy to begin with???
All yu Demo fags can jus fuk off. me and my republicen frends we luv Ann Coulter and we jrk off to her adams apple. you dum gay rights pusssyyyyysss and you nigger loving beanersss. heathen fukers. luv Jesus1 fuk obama that commie fukerrrrr. vote republicen bitchezz Mitt Romeny and shit1 this commetnt wus thought provoken and shit so send me 5 bucks tj. fuk off demo fags. vote republicen and kill all them terroriziing sandnigger evildoers. ann coulters adams apple pwns all you demo fag commies11
Keith Olbermann and Michael Moore. You couldn't get two bigger morons on the same show. I'm so sorry Keith lost his job. I'll miss his idiotic comments. You just never knew what ridiculous crap was going to spew from his mouth next. As for Michael Moore, this socialist fat idiot has been spewing his vile anti american anti capitalist bull shit for years. For anyone to call any of his movies a documentary is a joke. It sure looks like Capitalism worked out pretty well for his fat ass.
@AMXBOY so, stealing from people, taking their homes, stealing the government's money, pissing that away and demanding more, is what you'd like to define America?
My God, do we actually have people in America that listen to this filthy man olbermann? Its all lies and propaganda, the viewers of this show may want to start thinking on there own, but maybe you love to hate. Very sad.........
I love how fat, lefty slobs like Moore can get away with blaming American HC costs on ridiculous and completely unchallenged claims of evil corporate conspiracies. This, despite the fact that ALL of our increasing costs are because of the risk of covering FAT idiots like Moore himself.
If he really wanted to reform health care, he'd lose some weight...
Keith Olbermann - Wendell Potter Apologizes To Michael Moore
don't have to watch all of it, just the apology of former head of communications of one of the largest health insurance companies of America to Moore for orchestrating a smear campaign against him and the film Sicko. there are lots of fat, righty slobs out there, so not sure what you're driving at.
@bonbonchanson The fact that fat slobs are on both sides of the aisle only makes my point, that bad health is a nonpartisan issue. For crissakes, the health insurance mandate law was signed into law by a fuckin smoker, and the media didn't make a damn peep. I mean what absolute hypocrisy in face of the fact that an explosion in pool risk is the singlemost reason for rising health costs. Reform health care! Make a system for healthy people and another for fat slobs...
Isnt this fat fuck profiting from the very system his boring movie was moved through? Moore needs to do his next documentary on how fat people who wear baseball caps and glasses need to be put into concentration camps...then, the irony may not be lost on him or everyone else.
lol if we didn't bail out all those huge companies that employed tens of thousands of people, there really would be another Great Depression. The great depression was seriously worsened by the government DOING NOTHING.
alaskan371, and so does Sarah Palin but she does it for greed and what has she done for America except making it the laughing stock of the entire world.
...and all the while, michael moore walks away with the gazillions of dollars he makes from swindling people, while lamenting about how poor so many people are and how the corporations are taking away so much money.
I think i see the fox news studios in the backround... they are being laughed at through the windows but msnbc appreciates it because that is half their ratings right there.
true story" laura ingrahm dumped this guy because she walked in on him sucking the cock of a nfl player. now you know why he is so pro-homo, pro-black and muslim asslicker
Free energy technology exists!But the Oil companies want these technologies unknown to the masses,Get a motor that needs no gas or electric input at LT-MAGNET-MOTORdotCOM ,Start the energy revolution!
if Michael Moore was really making documentaries just for money he wouldn't be choosing subjects which blacklist him from future work. He's highlighting things that are terribly wrong with the US and is risking his life in doing so.
Two smug idiots agreeing with each other without any kind of critical discussion. All they need is Jeanine Garofalo on, sucking their dicks and nodding along talking about how black and working class people are so stupid they need intellectuals with thick framed glasses to protect them from evil capitalists.
They're not pissed that wealthy people are in control they are pissed that the wealthy people in control arent them.
@kpax45 well the difference is Beck and O'reilly know on some level they are idiots, Beck says it all the time. These two guys really think they are geniuses. Presumably because they wear those glasses.
you couldn't be more wrong. Both Olbermann and Moore agree in this video that the "corporation" are much smarter than them (see 5:58). Would you ever hear Beck and O'really admit they are ever in the wrong? NOPE! sorry...
Is it those particular brands of glasses that make them 'geniuses'? How 'bout Palin's glasses? You betcha
@bonbonchanson if you listen he says corporations are "actually" smarter than Tweedle Dork and Tweedle Dweeb as if it is surprising that groups consisting of thousands of people are "actually" smarter than these two muppets. They obviously consider themselves to have the collective intelligence of a corporation. They are only admitting that possibly they arent quite as smart as thousands of people put together. They are collectively as smart as a pair of Palins glasses even without palin in them
so, you're in support of "corporations" swindling pensions and properties and would rather not have anyone criticize or stand up to it? Of course Moore and Olbermann are making money, they just described that they are part of the big cog. They are part of the "thousands of people" you speak of. They'll kick and scream and point out the problems that exist in America until the big money hands pull the plug.
@bonbonchanson no, they will serve their own ends. They are part of a centuries old struggle between middle class intellectuals and wealthy elites for support of the uneducated masses. The elites want oligarchy for obvious reasons. The intellectuals want a bureaucratic technocracy so they can dictate to the masses through the guise of "experts". No doubt you have some worthless college degree and support the latter in the vain hope you will be invited into their inner circle when they take power
where you delude yourself is in your basic cut and dry assesment of the transfer and implimentation of political power. there are as many "experts" sought after and required to run the elitist cycle of power. not sure where that leaves you jim, or ireland for that matter. erin go bragh. free markets forever!
@bonbonchanson maybe you want to come here and see what its like to live in the reality of Moore and Olbermann's socialist utopia. We have all the welfare, free health care and nomenclatura you could ever hope to wet dream about. What you will find out when you live in the reality of socialism as i do is that the technocrats and wealthy elite are two shitty ends of the same stick. Where it leaves me is living in the crappy dytopia dreamed up by arrogant half wits like you, moore and olbermann.
oh faith and begorrah jimbo! I already live in a land of free health care and all the perks of technocratic living. I'm not busting a gut over it either. Compared to living in a country where paying for health care is an outright luxury, I'm damn proud of Canada and compassion and vision of Tommy Douglas, so your laughable insults just get flicked off like crumbs from soda bread.
@bonbonchanson Ah, the socialist ghoul always shows his true bigoted self. I'm so fortunate I have an intellectual liberal like yourself to educate a thick paddy like me about my own country from all those thousands of miles away. I suppose it never occurred to you your government can afford to hand out all those perks because of the huge volumes of natural resources in your country. Of course not, socialism is just a magical process whereby you can create money by giving it away.
I'm just riling you up jim -Ireland isn't the only country that is suffering in Europe. There are other resource-strapped countries that managed to weather the storm. Using the lack of natural resources is a poor excuse. The USA are relatively resource rich, yet they suffered recession, but for different reasons. Canada's banks have, historically conservative lending practices and market gambling - and in the end it payed off. Ireland's bubble went unchecked for too long
@bonbonchanson Resources are everything. Canada's oil reserves are second only to Saudi and they have to import food and most everything else. USA has 10 time ur pop. Then there's the timber and minerals. Ireland has no resources, has never been industrialised. The wealth we did have was from low corporate tax rates. Our housing bubble was caused by foreign speculators who we have been forced to bail out by our "progressive" nomenclatura. Our basic dole is over US$260 per week. Is that ...
...socialist enough for you? How much do you get in Canada? The reality is your govt is pawning you off with token welfare gestures that your national resources could likely pay for many times over. I'm sure it's a grand old time over there in Canada looking down your noses at the rest of us. Very benevolent indeed (well, except for Inuit's, but they probably deserve it right?)
yes our 'dirty' tarsands oil is great, it takes almost as much resources to extract the clean stuff. Germany lacks in natural resources just as many Euro countries do, but they seem to have stayed afloat. Our native people and Inuit are not treated fairly at all, and do not deserve their treatment at all Jim. Defininately do not deserve the treatment that the Roma (Gypos back in the old country) even recieve (or Polish or Romanian immigrants). Ireland never been industrialized?Please!
Token welfare? "In 1986, a single person on welfare in Alberta received roughly $10,000 a year. By 2005, that amount had dropped to $5,050 per year."
That works out to be under 400 USD a month for a single employable person in Alberta. Rates fluctuate depending what province you are in. We are not the "socialist" utopia/dystopia you speak of. It all boils down to banking. Ireland and USA banks=FAIL I guess Germany will always be there to bail you out.
@bonbonchanson Germany had the good fortune of being industrialised, not having to pay for defence for the last 60 years and living off the interest from debt to its former colonies (now including ireland).
I thought you said Canada had wonderful public services? But they only hand out half the dole we do? How can that be? Presumably you are being taken for a ride by your govt.
Anyway, you can look forward to telling the thousands of irish immigrants headed your way all the things they dont...
Tell your buds to don't come here, there are enough drunks on Queen St.W on a Saturday night. Seriously though, you were the one complaining that Canada was this socialist utopia and how hard done by Ireland was. When I point out that welfare isn't so hot here, do damn us again. Oh well. I'm sure you don't know more than 10 people, so I'm not worried about "thousands" of Irish immigrants being disappointed - because I"m presuming they're coming here to work, right? Not drink all day.
What fucking defence has Ireland had to pay for?! You got probs bud. Quit whining, and do something for your country. You seem to have all the answers, and Brian Cowen just quit as party leader, so it's time to lead Jim!
... know about their own country. I'm sure they'll be keen to hear about how superior canada's banks are to theirs.
Oh and i will assume you agree with me on the original dispute that Moore and Olbermann are pompous self-serving idiots since you felt you had to look at my profile and make personal attacks against me regarding my nationality. I shouldn't expect anything less from someone in a country predicated on racial superiority over indigenous peoples.
Guess where I was born Jim... Ireland!!! Go figure, I can be critical of both Canadian and Irish policies and not get my panties all tied up. Yeah, Canada sucks towards it's native population, Canada has boring banks, Canada doesn't fit into your narrow ideas of 'socialist' living. You need to get a sense of humour dude. I'm waiting for the 'you're a self-hating Irishman, shame on you, glad you and you're kind left...etc... I'm just bored of this dialogue. l8rs
@bonbonchanson To call you that would be to imply you were somehow Irish. I bet you tell all your barcode faced Canuk friends how you have "Irish heritage" cos your mom had the misfortune to crap you out of her vagina while she was here to kiss the blarney stone and i bet they think you're really interesting because you have this claim to a sliver of culture. Your ignorance is matched only by your arrogance. I'll be in touch when your economy comes tumbling down along with the USA ; )
Does it really take you a week to come up with these jems? I just wait in anticipation for your 'piles' of wisdom. I was actually born on the island of Ireland, and lived there for several years. Parents are both Irish born (not that you would care) -nice to see your true colours come out with your wonderful comments though! And thanks for the informative article *yawn* Irish, Scottish, English have been coming here for 200 years... All Irish are welcome here (except you)
oh, i didn't even notice that racist remark at first about 'barcode faced canuks' -lol. i'm so hurt. never been to the blarney stone, have you kissed it? maybe ireland can break it up into little bits and sell them on ebay to pay for the money it owes back to the e.u.
Based on your profile location, I assumed you would know the term Ireland Forever! Ireland's banks and government's lending practices and ridiculous tax breaks lured her to don the fur coat of a tiger, but was lucky to escape from being torn to shreds 10 years later. This is the harvest of the genius pool of "thousands of people" at work. The fact that you consider Palin's glasses (?!) to be more intelligent that Moore and Olbermann put together convinces me that you really don't know what's up.
@bonbonchanson ...however the reality is, as you will discover through studying history, that the most ardent supporters are the first to be thrown in the gulag as they are the ones most likely to be upset when their utopias fail to materialise. The underling positions they so coveted will be taken by whomever is best at toadying and brown-nosing without having any discernible political convictions.
@norjop Nothing wrong with making money it's how you use it. Buy a Hummer or two a house that has way to much square footage, a boat that is bigger than the Titanic, invest in companies that basically violate human rights and stick it to the American consumer by producing shit product and buy things to compensate for sexual short comings? I don't think Moore uses his money in that way or maybe he's a anarchist? No wait that's Glenn Beck & Bill O'Rielly.
You're a fucking King Moore! This world is fucked up! Our so-called leaders are the last place to look for ideas or answers. What can you do against that much stupidity+firepower at once? The police often as not know they are doing the wrong thing and enforce laws they don't agree with for wages. What a bunch of assholes! After all these civil wars on Earth we still have real aliens to deal with. We've given them and the lawyers and generals a permanent monopoly! FUCK! This world is a joke!
@AroundSun what nonsense ?? the corrupt corporate machine ? the murderous corrupt government run by the greedy power mad rich ? u r a fool if u don't understand reality..u r an enabler of this corruption ..the warmongers who fight wars for profit theirs not urs
Wait, so Moore is saying that United Auto Workers did not see any pay increases since Ronald Reagan was in office (@ 3:15)? Really? According to a Detroit Free Press article from 2007, the average UAW employee cost $65/hr in wages and benefits. One GM forklift driver made $103,000.00 in 2007. If what Moore says is true, and this guy has been making $103k since 1980, I'd say he has done pretty damned good. But we all know that isn't true. Moore knows it isn't true. But truth never bothered him.
lets not forget corpratism is to blame not capitalism. When will everyone realize that big government is to blame, and the solution is not bigger government.
@AroundSun u r still crazy.. the republicans tax to give money to the banks all ur income taxes go to pay the national debt INTEREST why do u think the republicans love deficit spending ? they give trillion $+ tax breaks to the rich and then bitch they still pay too much..ExxonMobil paid $0 taxes to the US many other HUGE corporations paid nothing or got tax credits thru the manipulated tax laws written by corporate lobbyist
@Svendar So, am I mistaken when I see that as a healthy, uninsured student, I'm being taxed and soon will be fined in order to subsidize the costs of other people's poor health choices? I hardly see how mandating the poor and working class to pay for an unsustainable national health crisis will fix our health care costs or uplift those who actually work hard and take responsibility for their own actions. If you need a bypass because you chose to be fat, tough nuts!
@thereinliestherib Why of course. Because Republicans are all healthnuts who workout everyday. LMAO
Just because the wealthy can afford the premiums for their poor health choices, and god knows they make a lot of those, doesn't mean the poor are to blame for the absurdly high healthcare costs in this country. And the truly hard working ones are the same ones turned down for coverage, which they seek out of a sense of responsibility, since they can't afford it.
@marysw So, whoever disagrees with you is republican?
You're argument clearly doesn't conform with the facts. The US has a 70% obesity/overweight rate, a quarter smoke, and millions more regularly abuse/idolize drugs and alcohol. The majority of our health costs originate with the least healthy 5% of the population... so, congrats on being a tool for the insurance co's, who stand to benefit greatly from insurance mandates imposed on the young and healthy.
@thereinliestherib Yes the least (what you call the 5%) are senior citizens. And they are the only ones who vote.
And I don't think wanting to spread/share the costs, and thereby lowering them for everyone, makes me a "tool." If anything, the insurance companies have been fighting this bill tooth and nail. Why do you think the Republicans, after writing and cosigning THE VERY SAME BILL in the 90s, now don't like it?
@marysw BS. Clearly in a country with a 70% obesity/overweight rate, your claim simply does not pan out. The industry and their corrupt politicians in DC love conflating risk by claiming that PE's and others in need of care are helpless innocents, when in fact the opposite is mostly true. Redistributing the risk of an EXTREMELY unhealthy country onto the responsible is the ins. industry's revenue cherry. CIP, the rise in HC costs correlates directly with plummeting national health stats.
Hey MIkey Moore, since you are making so much from capitalism was just wondering since it is so awful if I can have your $. Olbermann, dude I am glad the 10 people who watch your show each night can come on here and comment about you being so smart, OMG.
The problem here is that everyone seems to forget that capitalism is only a tool. It's no more good or evil than a hammer. However, it needs to be regulated, because without regulation the most ruthless and immoral people in a purely capitalist system will be the most successful. We need to start remembering that capitalism is a powerful economic tool, and it should not be an idealogical stance.
@kshepherdgmail Capitalism is a tool, but a bad one. It put money above anything else & need infinite groth from a finite planet to stay alive. It's stupid, crazy, against nature and dangerous for those who created it, humans...
@Svendar@kshepherdgmail Yea we need a centrally planned command economy and socialism right? We need to hire people to organize society for us with our money. I am sure they will have our best interests at heart. THere will be no corruption. We can tax those greedy rich people so we have less jobs, smaller salary, and pay higher prices! I feel bad for you..
@AroundSun When you'll know what socialism is, I'll take in consideration what you have to say, but your reply to me is so stupid (and wrong) that I know you're too lazy to have an intellectually honest debate about this topic.Internet offers you all the information’s you need to gain an appropriate knowledge about the subject and you didn't care to look for it before answering me with this astonishingly high level of ignorance. Now go read a book our two about the matter...
@kshepherdgmail "it needs to be regulated, because without regulation the most ruthless and immoral people in a purely capitalist system will be the most successful." how old are you? they will only be successful if the market allows them which mean cheaper prices for us. is there something wrong with success in this country freeloader? Do you have a problem with freedom? The road to hell was paved with good intentions, and even hitler had a "vision".
Two people that don't like corporatism and then think that it is the same as capitalism shows a lot about the lack of knowledge they both understand about free-markets. I agree with some of points on the massage of passing Tarp, but the main thing is that their solution or biggest problem is Need for socialism or Not enough Socialism. Their whole negative stance on tarp is because it goes to rich people, not that we are paying to keep a failing company from going bankrupt. Google Peter Schiff.
@bird661 I am American as well Bud having served my country in both Afghanistan & Iraq !! .. Perhaps the adapt or die mantra may become a little more personal when you actually find yourself in a combat environment . Americans won their right to Freedom against the English tyrants need no history lesson from the likes of you . That victory ensured that every citizen has the right to open dissent , a concept you seem to have a problem understanding.
@weedhopperps51 You see republicans talk in disgust about terrorism and bombings caused by radical muslims. Yet they are often the ones to first bring up threats of violence against those who they disagree with. Bigotry, hypocrisy, and hate are their trademark symbols.
Please don't mention the term " Roadside Bomb " even in jest !!!
American men & woman overseas have to live with this cowardly device on a daily basis. This faceless cowardly weapon is responsible for thousands of KIA & horribly wounded troops. Then again perhaps it is your weapon of choice come to think of it !!
Please don't mention the term " Roadside Bomb " even in jest !!!
American men & woman overseas have to live with this cowardly device on a daily basis. This faceless cowardly weapon is responsible for thousands of KIA & horribly wounded troops. tThen again perhaps it is your weapon of choice come to think of it !!
So why aren't the Republicans trying to revolt? If they just support the people instead of the Corporations, they can run their "enemies" out of business...haha.
What "argument" are you talking about? Are you talking about the simple opinion(reply) I expressed? I would hate to see you when you were mad, you would probably start hissing like a cat, and try scratching me. And as for the biased comment, look at your comment which states: "My ethnic group, the Indian Americans, are the most capitalistic in this country." Or did you suddenly forget? I'm still very sure your daddy bought you everything you have.
Michael Moore is a true American hero! Someone who takes action in peace instead of grabbing a gun and shooting innocent people.
Gov. Perdue of Georgia took millions of dollars in campaign contributions or bribes from IBM to outsource computer services jobs, then IBM sent them overseas. Thanks to our "not paid off" Supreme Court Perdue is not in prison.
Michael Moore is a fat communist pig. What he should be against is human greed, not the free market system. Greedy people, like the ones on Wall Street, pervert the free market system. Look at people like Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Michael Dell, Hewlett and Packard. They were great capitalists.
The Hollywood system is based on capitalism. His movies compete with others on the free market. Why doesn't he just upload his movie on the net and his website so that people can watch it for free? When he moves his fat communist ass to McDonald's he is benefiting from capitalism, by filling his stomach with cheap fast food for a fraction of his total worth.
What evidence do you have that most of the capitalists are morally compromised? My ethnic group, the Indian Americans, are the most capitalistic in this country. We start many of the tech-start up companies in Silicon Valley. We make up 0.8% of the population but more than 10% of the millionaires. This doesn't mean we are greedy. It's because we can easily become successful in this country which accepts people from all part of the world. Wall Street doesn't speak for Silicon Valley.

Handouts and dependence are always their guiding assumptions.
thereinliestherib 9 months ago
@thereinliestherib
drbayoms 7 months ago
@drbayoms Nice straw man. Which of course, necessarily means I'm in a delusional state when I witness the same bullshit every day. Hell, I just got a new neighbor who openly refuses to work, because work means you don't get as much money from the state every month. I fail to see how making social services dependent on effort, rather than entitlement, is evil, draconian, blah blah blah. Get a life silverspoon, you've never seen poverty in your life you vicarious tool.
thereinliestherib 7 months ago
@thereinliestherib
Or the laziness of your parents?
drbayoms 7 months ago
@drbayoms Actually yes, the laziness and irresponsibility of my parents. I can't change that, it is what it is--and having kids in your teens and early twenties was exactly what society told them they could do. Seems to have worked out pretty well. Lost my brother to drugs, my sister to jail, a few dozen friends along the way, while surviving shitbag HS instructors, slavedrivers, and going to college to bang out straight A's and put down a 170 on the LSAT. Just what have you done? NOTHING.
thereinliestherib 7 months ago
@thereinliestherib
Forget the LSAT, see a therapist.
drbayoms 7 months ago
@drbayoms Oh god, here we go--and I'm sure all the idiots who bought houses they couldn't afford and all those who live well beyond their means are just victims of greedy corporate shadow conspiracies, right? Now my accomplishments are mere insecurity. Sure. Try making a consistent argument instead of attacking with ad hominems, because they only discredit your claims of having any education past community college. Your own comments speak directly to the insecurity you describe--classic.

@thereinliestherib
There is nothing more sad than self-loathing souls who think that everyone ELSE'S failures are a sin. While their own failures was just a "stroke of bad luck" : > )
drbayoms 7 months ago
@drbayoms Well if straw men were arguments, you'd get the gold at the special olympics. You're basing you're argument about poverty's innocence within the context of a video about an obese propagandist who spreads halfbaked claims about "the evil evil corporate healthcare conspiracy"--in a country where skyrocketing pool risk is the primary reason our HC costs are so astronomically high, risk that is mostly because of entitled fatasses like himself. Good luck buddy.
thereinliestherib 7 months ago
@thereinliestherib
Tell us about the AMA putting pressure on Medical Schools in the mid 80's to limit the number of Doctors they accept......
drbayoms 7 months ago
@drbayoms Oh my gawd, you're absolutely not worth the time if you can't distinguish between what a "risk pool" (a fixed variable) is and what aggregate pool risk is (an independent variable). I love how you're already not addressing my points, but instead launching oblique personal attacks. Sorry pal, go look at the leading most expensive illnesses in the US, and you will quickly find our costs are directly proportional to skyrocketing POOL RISK due to irresponsible personal behavior.
thereinliestherib 7 months ago
@thereinliestherib ….You seem to be a fish out of water. Explain to us how a Dr’s salary affects Med insurance cost. Or can you? These are but a few of the MANY reasons Medical care is so high. Give us a little intellectual “nugget” about the government being in bed with Big Pharma. Explain to us (if you can) how the cost of a Doctor’s education is passed down to patients. Even 10-12 years AFTER that Doctor leaves Med School. Your degree is not worth the idiot who holds it.
drbayoms 7 months ago
@drbayoms Explain to me how govt collusion with Big Pharma doesn't reach its most explicit example in a mandate to purchase highly monopolized insurance products; explain to me how disproportional individual risk doesn't effect the disparate distribution of health costs, despite being Obamacare's most significant funding mechanism; explain to me how a 75% obesity/overweight rate doesn't have any direct impact on HC costs... Oh why bother, you won't answer these questions anyway.
thereinliestherib 7 months ago
@thereinliestherib
I am (again) challenging you to counter ANY statement I made in my previous post.
drbayoms 7 months ago
@drbayoms Once again, you completely skirt my rebuttals to your stupid claims. The majority of the HC community supports increased cost liabilities because their GODDAMN salary is directly proportional to the redistribution of risk that goes with abyssmal national health. I dare YOU to show me one non-fuckbag doctor willing to venture the fact that obesity, overweight, smoking, and irresponsible personal choices are the cause of disproportional costs, given cascading stats in support of such.
thereinliestherib 7 months ago
@thereinliestherib
I personally believe drug prices would go down as a result of a UHCare model.
drbayoms 7 months ago
@drbayoms Apparently you need to get your tuition back, because you lack basic reading comprehension. My prior rebuttal to your claims about costs: "Sorry pal, go look at the leading most expensive illnesses in the US..."
Now please, for the sake of your professional dignity, list for me the most common and most expensive ailments in America, and let's see how much of our national HC expenditures are actually due to chance, accidents, and evil corporate conspiracies.
thereinliestherib 7 months ago
@thereinliestherib
So, you are telling me that good hardworking Doctor's, Big Pharma, Med equipment companies & Wall St investors are in a cahoots to manipulate the masses? You are telling me that it is possible for individual organizations with power and reach to co-opted a system to take advantage of those without power? You are an idiot.
drbayoms 7 months ago
@drbayoms Quit avoiding my points. If doctors are so smart, then quit confirming my claim that they are entitled, greedy, selfish elitists by skirting any actual direct rebuttal of my claims. What are the top most prevalent and costly ailments in this country sir? What proportion did obesity alone consume out of national HC expenditures? Are you real real sure that disproportional national HC costs are because of the "vast corporate conspiracy" claimed by liberal automata like yourself???
thereinliestherib 7 months ago
@thereinliestherib
In America everyone of these Doctor’s have worked hard for their salary. Their personal responsibility & hard work is the reason for their success. How dare you insult them. I guess now you will try to slander the insurance companies. Surely you do not believe that insurance companies only care about making money? If so prove it. When you insult Dr’s you insult insurance companies.
drbayoms 7 months ago
@drbayoms Labor works harder for their salary and they don't get shit. Soldiers do too--don't get shit. This is exactly the kind of entitlement that disgusts me about the white collar classes--everyone else is an unwashed rube, while contradictorily you depend on those rubes to pay your salary through inflated premiums, taxes, mandates, etc. If this were a healthy country, you'd be out of the job--it's that simple, and that's why doctors have a financial stake in perpetuating poor health.
thereinliestherib 7 months ago
@thereinliestherib
Because I know that your disdain for UHCare has very little to do with.....Health care.

drbayoms 7 months ago
@thereinliestherib Your place in society is of your own doing (I think one of us said that before). So don’t blame Doctors for your being stuck in a generational cycle of blue collar, low wage randomness. Funny how men and women who go to school for a 4 year undergrad, followed by 4 years of Med School (with no salary) and then on to another 4 to 9 years of 80+ hour weeks making no more than 45k don’t really work hard.
drbayoms 7 months ago
@thereinliestherib
If so Thanks!
drbayoms 7 months ago
@thereinliestherib
If you DISAGREE, then maybe you are no better than the “redistributionist” if you will.
drbayoms 7 months ago
@thereinliestherib
But I must admit, this is fun.
drbayoms 7 months ago
@drbayoms Do you really think I give a shit? You haven't been able to address a single one of my posts. The claim that you have any sort of professional education is absolutely laughable; and yet, typical.
thereinliestherib 7 months ago
@thereinliestherib How dare you insinuate that America Doctors, who are the best in the world are some how basing their arguments for Universal Health Care on the idea of preserving their high incomes! That claim is baseless, sir. We live in America. And our country is full of Doctors who would not dare put profit before patient. How dare you. When you insult Doctors, you insult insurance companies. Can you prove any of this?
drbayoms 7 months ago
@drbayoms America has the shittiest, snobbiest, most entitled doctors in the world. You're being sarcastic right? I mean you've basically already admitted that your part of the "golden handcuffs" dynamic that reshapes doctors/lawyers into ambulance chasing parasites. Doctors are fucking morons--their opinions are no different than trial lawyers (democrats) who constantly whine and moralize for increased liabilities because their own salaries are at stake in such wasteful spending.
thereinliestherib 7 months ago
@thereinliestherib
PROVE IT!
drbayoms 7 months ago
@drbayoms Wait a minute--I'm the one giving the "dark side" doctors and insurance companies too much power? Our own smoker president--in a country where smoking related illness still represent one of the most acutely disproportional drains on HC--signed a bill in 09 basically giving trillions of dollars in guaranteed revenue to the "evil" industry through mandates, gerrymandered buying restrictions, and required excessive coverage to force more healthy people into pools with lardass smokers.
thereinliestherib 7 months ago
@thereinliestherib
Again I beg you to give me something more in regards to lowering health care cost than “put down that bowl of ice cream”.
drbayoms 7 months ago
@drbayoms Oh god, another obesity apologist--sorry dude, there is no evidence that poor health is primarily because of prior systemic factors. Growing up poor, my health was one of the few things over which I knew I had direct control. I love how institutionalized idiots like yourself only talk about bad health, which wholly elides the existence of so many who are exposed to the same conditions, yet remain healthy. You're a fucking greedy ignorant scumbag--end of story.
thereinliestherib 7 months ago
@thereinliestherib As for your “accomplishments being tied to insecurity”. What most of Americans have learned is the best way to destroy Blacks (which is not my goal) is not to prevent them from having an equal right to a quality education. The way to destroy them is to give that opportunity to a small few of them and then stand back. Because just as in the days of old. The more “learned” Blacks will discriminate against and destroy their own. I suspect that you are that type.
drbayoms 7 months ago
@drbayoms Oh boy, a race baiter who believes he's not a racist. That's your type. Minorities have been given special grants, rights, and priviliges for years, and whatever smaller successes have come of it have been more than offset by the entitlement effect. Go figure, when you lower standards you corrode a community's will to help itself--who woulda thought? Disparate racial outcomes are primarily a product of ethic, which is why liberals ignore stats on other "overachieving" minorities.

If it weren't for capitalism, you wouldn't have been able to make your movies (and i use that term very loosely), and i doubt highly you would give up your mansion, fortune, and glutenous amounts of food you consume to abolish capitalism and put you in a shitty poor position with everyone else by getting to communism!
puffball9 11 months ago
@puffball9 Yeah, there's nothing like a socialized health care advocate running their mouth about corporate conspiracies... in a country with a 70% obesity/overweight rate, in which the increasing cost of health care is primarily caused by plummeting American health, costs that are systematically passed on to the healthy. If Moore really wanted to reform health care, then he'd support charging by the pound. That'll be the day!
thereinliestherib 10 months ago
@thereinliestherib Yes since he is all for higher taxes and national health care we should do just that. since no one knows how much Obama-care is going to cost each person yet let us establish a rule now. Income taxes are highest to people who make the most money so therefore, a morbidly obese lard-ass like Michael Moore and the demon that lives in his belly, is going to pay millions of dollars in weight taxes which will supplement Obama-care as opposed to Paris Hilton who will only pay $20.
puffball9 10 months ago
@puffball9 So what? The scenario you cite perfectly explains the lack of representativeness in our health care costs. Making the unhealthy take fiscal responsibility for their own poor choices is the only way to fix the initial problem of an obscenely unhealthy population. Your class baiting makes no sense either: should good, rich drivers pay more for car insurance just because they're rich?? And do you ever wonder if personal responsibility is what made that person wealthy to begin with???

watch the youtube video called:
Keith Olbermann - Wendell Potter Apologizes To Michael Moore
don't have to watch all of it, just the apology of former head of communications of one of the largest health insurance companies of America to Moore for orchestrating a smear campaign against him and the film Sicko. there are lots of fat, righty slobs out there, so not sure what you're driving at.
bonbonchanson 1 year ago
@bonbonchanson The fact that fat slobs are on both sides of the aisle only makes my point, that bad health is a nonpartisan issue. For crissakes, the health insurance mandate law was signed into law by a fuckin smoker, and the media didn't make a damn peep. I mean what absolute hypocrisy in face of the fact that an explosion in pool risk is the singlemost reason for rising health costs. Reform health care! Make a system for healthy people and another for fat slobs...

Isnt this fat fuck profiting from the very system his boring movie was moved through? Moore needs to do his next documentary on how fat people who wear baseball caps and glasses need to be put into concentration camps...then, the irony may not be lost on him or everyone else.

you couldn't be more wrong.
You betcha
bonbonchanson 1 year ago
@bonbonchanson if you listen he says corporations are "actually" smarter than Tweedle Dork and Tweedle Dweeb as if it is surprising that groups consisting of thousands of people are "actually" smarter than these two muppets. They obviously consider themselves to have the collective intelligence of a corporation. They are only admitting that possibly they arent quite as smart as thousands of people put together. They are collectively as smart as a pair of Palins glasses even without palin in them
jimberkt 1 year ago
@jimberkt
so, you're in support of "corporations" swindling pensions and properties and would rather not have anyone criticize or stand up to it? Of course Moore and Olbermann are making money, they just described that they are part of the big cog. They are part of the "thousands of people" you speak of. They'll kick and scream and point out the problems that exist in America until the big money hands pull the plug.
bonbonchanson 1 year ago
@bonbonchanson no, they will serve their own ends. They are part of a centuries old struggle between middle class intellectuals and wealthy elites for support of the uneducated masses. The elites want oligarchy for obvious reasons. The intellectuals want a bureaucratic technocracy so they can dictate to the masses through the guise of "experts". No doubt you have some worthless college degree and support the latter in the vain hope you will be invited into their inner circle when they take power
jimberkt 1 year ago
@jimberkt
where you delude yourself is in your basic cut and dry assesment of the transfer and implimentation of political power. there are as many "experts" sought after and required to run the elitist cycle of power. not sure where that leaves you jim, or ireland for that matter. erin go bragh. free markets forever!
bonbonchanson 1 year ago
@bonbonchanson maybe you want to come here and see what its like to live in the reality of Moore and Olbermann's socialist utopia. We have all the welfare, free health care and nomenclatura you could ever hope to wet dream about. What you will find out when you live in the reality of socialism as i do is that the technocrats and wealthy elite are two shitty ends of the same stick. Where it leaves me is living in the crappy dytopia dreamed up by arrogant half wits like you, moore and olbermann.
jimberkt 1 year ago
@jimberkt
oh faith and begorrah jimbo! I already live in a land of free health care and all the perks of technocratic living. I'm not busting a gut over it either. Compared to living in a country where paying for health care is an outright luxury, I'm damn proud of Canada and compassion and vision of Tommy Douglas, so your laughable insults just get flicked off like crumbs from soda bread.
bonbonchanson 1 year ago
@bonbonchanson Ah, the socialist ghoul always shows his true bigoted self. I'm so fortunate I have an intellectual liberal like yourself to educate a thick paddy like me about my own country from all those thousands of miles away. I suppose it never occurred to you your government can afford to hand out all those perks because of the huge volumes of natural resources in your country. Of course not, socialism is just a magical process whereby you can create money by giving it away.
jimberkt 1 year ago
@jimberkt
Ireland's bubble went unchecked for too long
bonbonchanson 1 year ago
@bonbonchanson Resources are everything. Canada's oil reserves are second only to Saudi and they have to import food and most everything else. USA has 10 time ur pop. Then there's the timber and minerals. Ireland has no resources, has never been industrialised. The wealth we did have was from low corporate tax rates. Our housing bubble was caused by foreign speculators who we have been forced to bail out by our "progressive" nomenclatura. Our basic dole is over US$260 per week. Is that ...
jimberkt 1 year ago
...socialist enough for you? How much do you get in Canada? The reality is your govt is pawning you off with token welfare gestures that your national resources could likely pay for many times over. I'm sure it's a grand old time over there in Canada looking down your noses at the rest of us. Very benevolent indeed (well, except for Inuit's, but they probably deserve it right?)
jimberkt 1 year ago
@jimberkt
yes our 'dirty' tarsands oil is great, it takes almost as much resources to extract the clean stuff. Ireland never been industrialized?Please!
bonbonchanson 1 year ago
@jimberkt
Ireland and USA banks=FAIL I guess Germany will always be there to bail you out.
bonbonchanson 1 year ago
@bonbonchanson Germany had the good fortune of being industrialised, not having to pay for defence for the last 60 years and living off the interest from debt to its former colonies (now including ireland).
I thought you said Canada had wonderful public services? But they only hand out half the dole we do? How can that be? Presumably you are being taken for a ride by your govt.
Anyway, you can look forward to telling the thousands of irish immigrants headed your way all the things they dont...
jimberkt 1 year ago
@jimberkt
Not drink all day.
bonbonchanson 1 year ago

I shouldn't expect anything less from someone in a country predicated on racial superiority over indigenous peoples.

I hardly see how mandating the poor and working class to pay for an unsustainable national health crisis will fix our health care costs or uplift those who actually work hard and take responsibility for their own actions. If you need a bypass because you chose to be fat, tough nuts!
thereinliestherib 10 months ago
@thereinliestherib Why of course. Because Republicans are all healthnuts who workout everyday. LMAO
Just because the wealthy can afford the premiums for their poor health choices, and god knows they make a lot of those, doesn't mean the poor are to blame for the absurdly high healthcare costs in this country. And the truly hard working ones are the same ones turned down for coverage, which they seek out of a sense of responsibility, since they can't afford it.
marysw 10 months ago
@marysw So, whoever disagrees with you is republican?
You're argument clearly doesn't conform with the facts. The US has a 70% obesity/overweight rate, a quarter smoke, and millions more regularly abuse/idolize drugs and alcohol. The majority of our health costs originate with the least healthy 5% of the population... so, congrats on being a tool for the insurance co's, who stand to benefit greatly from insurance mandates imposed on the young and healthy.
thereinliestherib 10 months ago
@thereinliestherib Yes the least (what you call the 5%) are senior citizens. And they are the only ones who vote.
And I don't think wanting to spread/share the costs, and thereby lowering them for everyone, makes me a "tool." If anything, the insurance companies have been fighting this bill tooth and nail. Why do you think the Republicans, after writing and cosigning THE VERY SAME BILL in the 90s, now don't like it?
marysw 10 months ago
