the meat is white and better than catfish crappie bass ect... has a row of y bones but no fishy taste at all. we all love it. i have a 4 year old son who is picky as hell and he loved it. my wife doesnt care much for any freshwater fish. and she wont eat catfish. her words about this after trying it wed. "thats good. i can eat that" seroiusly. its going on my plate in the place of the once loved catfish. now ill be releasing them. all i did was fillet and score and roll in andys. fried in oil.

Yes, you can cook them any way you like. Someone made a comment about them being boney. Yes, they are but since many of them are large fish...the bones aren't tiny and there a simple way to get around the bones actually. I think there is a video on Youtube about filletting asian carp with my boss Duane Chapman.

@CarpBSTR I watched a video that states they're gonna let people catch these by the gobs,and they showed some chef cooking these trying to determine commercial use.Let me tell you it's not bad looking meat at all it's just the bones create the problem.This could be a good source of food.

It was American catfish farmers who imported these fish (many illegally) and permitted their release as a result of poor confinement practices during flooding.

What "Brits" have anything to do with this I don't know. Of course - since these are Asian Carp - I would only expect trapper420's next target of opportunity to be some asian ethnic segment for "there" part in this.

It may seem FUNNY but these "fish" are no joke. They are taking over the habitat of the natural species of fish that have been in North America for hundreds of years. These fish in the video are called CARP they are from ASIA, they dont belong in America. We must stop them before they spread to all our rivers and make boating, and fishing for anything but CARP impossible. Waterskiing? imagine that?

Yeah I know what you are talking about. These fish are very svage-like. First, they have a large appetite! They will eat almost any plant on the bottom of the Mississippi river and plus, they just ravage all the other fish stocks i nthat river. They are ruining the habitat and I heard that there is a good possibility that these devastating animals will start populating the Great Lakes. If they populate the Lakes..well good luck to that precious ecosystem!
