@eschnack Agreed. I love all four of their first albums, its too bad they sort of abandoned that meandering element early on though... Watershed is a good album too, but for different reasons.
I absolutely admire your version! We just play this piece with our string quartett and I know every little note of each part. Your feeling of this classical tune is absolutely pregnant and - unlike many other "beat versions of classics" - very tasteful!
@Knuxus Hi, this was all with plug-ins. I took different amp-sims and impulses, and mixed them together until I got a sound I liked. There was like 3 or 4 tracks for each guitar.
Hmm. Reminiscient of oldschool Opeth.
Who would have know that Opeth used to sound like Schubert?

@itsmedude1020 yeah, those early Opeth albums had a lot of counterpoint going on. Morningrise made quite an impact on me.

@metalmasta I'd like to write out the tabs for this some time, but that'd be a lot of work :D

@proukyx wow, thanks! That means a lot coming from a string player. I really tried to keep the original intent and feeling of the original.

@eschnack I agree with what proukyx said (I'm also a string player). It even makes me think I could get into metal. ;-)

May I ask, what pedals do you use? Or which amp is that...
