It's something you just feel...or you don't.

Her singing was fine but performers feed off the reaction of the audience and this bunch appeared to make up their minds from the beginning that they would give her a great big ho-hum and it affected her performance as she hid her personality whild still saying hey you I can sing!

Its been bothering me that this video looks older than the one of Susan singing I dont know how to love him in 1984. On his first audition he came out in a crumpled business suit and the crowd was mocking him like they did Susan and America was worse, they started booing him, but instead of running off the stage, he kept singing and his voice is a God given gift that turned the crowd around to where they were giving him a standing ovation like they did Susan. A little bit of timing problem or rushing occasionally, but it was still fantastic and beautiful. Note, no music accompanyment and that made it so hard. If she had some proper training, she could have been as good as any diva alive IMO.
Please do not compare this with the studio recorded and audio engineered version from some great singer.

Its been bothering me that this video looks older than the one of Susan singing I dont know how to love him in 1984. The clothes remind me of the ones we all wore in the very early 1980s; somehow there's a bit of a 1970s feel to them. Whereas in the 1984 video, its all 1980s. I could be wrong of course.
