I just noticed that. Given how well he speaks and what not, he is probably just hard of hearing. If he were profoundly deaf, he probably wouldn't speak as well as use ASL or signed English an stuff.
I came across a video with them singing that song from the movie she did, and I just assumed it was one of those ear things people wear when they sing, but I couldn't figure out why no one else had one on.
I just looked it up because when he was on family matters, he didn't exhibit any signs of being deaf. Although, Bryton is not, the character he plays, Devon, had a bout with an illness that caused him to lose his hearing.
