yo, I'm a big fan of info wars, but you need to do a bit more research on this one. Kinect does have face recognition, but it only works if you go through the face recognition setup, which takes about 5 minutes, so you can't really do it by accented. It's not "on" when the box is off (unlike your cell phone, which is a bigger threat to privacy.) If you are really worried about it, you can just disconnect the sensor. No need to do all that other stuff.

I've had my 360 do some weird stuff before. Like being on with no video after I had hit the main power button. Also will eat up bandwidth on my network when not doing anything with it, just because it's on. Could be updating, or could be forwarding packets while on my PC...who knows?

Being a computer tech, I can honestly say that it is possible to connect to this device remotely as long as the ethernet is plugged into the xbox. It wouldn't even take a genius hacker to do this.

You don't think anyone can listen to you in on that? But of all things, you'd think an xbox in power saver mode would spy on you? Hell, it would be easy to tell if that did. Monitor network activity at all times, even the power drain coming from the 360. If those in fact go up then it's possible, but something like Onstar, which is built into millions of cars is something you can't detect.

Just search for the reference design from the Chipset Manufacturer Prime Sense.
Or did you ever saw a camera distributing infrared patterns into the room ?

Don't keep telling him there are 2 cameras. There is only 1 Camera. The other uses the same sensor as an RGB camera, but in an entirely different way.

I've had my 360 do some weird stuff before. Like being on with no video after I had hit the main power button. Also will eat up bandwidth on my network when not doing anything with it, just because it's on. Could be updating, or could be forwarding packets while on my PC...who knows?
