  • What can I say, youngsters need to keep this genre of jazz/soul/romantic type of live instrumental music from becoming extinct.

  • ? Did Someone Smpled This Song @ 0:57

  • @Thablukoolaidsmile

Tribe Called Quest sampled this.... can't think of the exact name of cut - I believe from their Midnight Marauders album. Also Jill Scott used it on one of her tunes as well.

  • of course they had the instrumental lol

  • i rememeber my dad playing this song. when i graduated junior high school back in the 80's they had this song in our graduation video. i love it.

  • How could you dislike a jam like this? It takes you to a place, free of adversity.

  • Kudos to whomever posted this song!!! This is truly one Roy Ayers best song. I just wish he would put this out on a greatest hit cd. Very hard to find.

  • GREENKIMBER, I appreciate you!

  • oh yeah baby!!!!

  • This one takes me back to the southside of Chicago on those nice summer nights in the 80'S when life was so simple.

  • @charles4583 I agree!!! Those times are Priceless!

  • @charles4583 I remember those Chicago summer nights. This cut sounded so good on those cold winter nights also!

  • @charles4583 me too brother. My favorite ayers!

  • Well isn't this a trip. Just found something out. Jill Scott sampled this in her song "Watching me".

  • @morano916 You are probably the only one who figured that out. I just heard this song for the first time today and that line where he made all those rifts gave me a huge hint that this was sampled from Jill Scott.

  • hate to be the one to inform you this came out way before Jill was even conceived as a matter of fact it might have been playing while she was being conceived.. ;-) this is about 1979-81

  • @morano916 oh yeah she did!!!! right on!

  • @bigben1986 ...lol.Yessir!

  • @morano916 Your absolutely right I was trying to figure were Ive heard portions of this from, now you stopped my guess work, well actually you stole my thunder, because i always love being the one to figure out who sampled what from what classics props to ya, LOL.

  • @davisismail1comcast LOL...Thanks brotha....yea....that's what happens when you have an ear for music. Especially if you produce music like myself. I guess you can't have the thunder everytime right...jk...lol.

  • Like so many others, I've been trying to track down this song for years...eight to be exact. Beautiful upload sound quality. How did you do it ?? Thanks for sharing one of Roy Ayers greatest tracks. They just don't create this level of music anymore.

  • Back @ uoficpa, Makes you feel young once again. Remember those warm summer nights!!!!

  • Roy Ayers is the true king.

  • THIS IS A RELAXING SONG

  • Roy Ayers, although an original jazz player, was the NUMBER ONE for us who checked the gigantic brazilian jamz nights in the 80´s, with Chic Show gigs, etc.

He even perfomed there once for us. Wonderful stuff - thanks for posting

    Humberto Silva, Sp Brazil

  • Man you just dont know ,youve made my music collection complete Growing up in Chi listening to WBMX this was and is THE BOMB

  • @greenkimber I feel you. while some were fiending for the Hot Mix 5, Saturday live, aint no jive dance party, others of us lived for this kind of music.

  • @greenkimber Also grew up on the southside of Chicago, listening to the same airwaves and diggin' what Roy put out, it takes me back. You didn't hear much of this in the MID 80s , after (program director) Lee Michaels took over the station and introduced the HOT MIX 5 and House music was born. Funk-Jazz DID have it's day and then a new era came and overshadowed another great music style. Ayers still puts it down to this very day, outliving House. Youtube still gives us memories of both.

  • @vybe I'm also from the Southside of the Windy City,And I KNEW there was such a song!!But I haven't been able to find it,EVER! I thought I was mistaken about the artist, and here it is!I thank whoever posted it from the bottom of my heart. This is a nice song,I'm really digging it!
