Roy Ayers, although an original jazz player, was the NUMBER ONE for us who checked the gigantic brazilian jamz nights in the 80´s, with Chic Show gigs, etc.

He even perfomed there once for us. Wonderful stuff - thanks for posting

@greenkimber Also grew up on the southside of Chicago, listening to the same airwaves and diggin' what Roy put out, it takes me back. You didn't hear much of this in the MID 80s , after (program director) Lee Michaels took over the station and introduced the HOT MIX 5 and House music was born. Funk-Jazz DID have it's day and then a new era came and overshadowed another great music style. Ayers still puts it down to this very day, outliving House. Youtube still gives us memories of both.
