  • You should try mullet roe one day. Very good! I grew up on the Gulf Coast, so I've eaten jillions of them. You remove the entire egg mass from the the fish, usually two of them, and lightly fry them. They are orange colored & sort of carrot shaped. When fried, they are like a sausage: thousands of little eggs contained in a thin skin. They have a light, creamy flavor, not fishy tasting at all. Delicious. I love them. (And mullet too!)

  • @wrght9185 that sounds totaly different than i woud have imagined. i have to find some!

  • @FoodOddities Take a look on Google Images for "mullet roe" to see what it looks like. Imagine thousands of little fish eggs packed into a sausage skin. Very good stuff to eat.

  • @wrght9185 lol! ok that is awesome

  • @FoodOddities you know you can it frozen with rice. i would eat that every single day if i could but sadly.. its expensive

  • @sarah05111 frozen?oo i bet taht is awesome

  • Wait a second...maybe THIS was what I tried when I was little and didn't like...hmmm...

  • @img921 realy?

  • @FoodOddities I tried something I remember being "Russian caviar" but it looked and tasted like what this video describes, so I wonder if I just remembered incorrectly? It would be so cool if this was actually what I tried so I can say, "Been there, ate that." :) Although I doubt I'll ever be able to verify it. Oh well.

  • @img921 yea it would be awesome to be able to say you did!

  • Next time eat live fish then your baby grylls XD

  • @TheKylemateTv lol!! that woudl be awesome

  • Aftertasty...

  • @NintendoGirl89 it is kind of funny how much i laughed at my own joke:)

  • Yum! I eat the roe out of my sushi and then fold up the seaweed and eat the rice. XDD

  • @panthercat38 i rmember when i was 4 and first tried it at a restarant i was dipping my fingers in it and eating it all:)

  • I oredered sushi once and let m tell you... the cepplin row like the picture in the begging tasted good... then i had the really big salmon row and X( i almost died... you have to try it it's so salty!

  • @Brian567899 lol! i wonder why the big ones are so salty?

  • @FoodOddities I don't know either lol

  • they taste like shit

  • @ilovewii11 lol!!

  • i always loved those eggs :)

everytime i get sushii id eat those first just to make them pop in my mouth

  • @SpiceyApplesRtheBEST i thin k it is the reason i first like sushi because they are sweet and good on it. but all alone they are too much:)

  • its delicious!

  • Hey do sardines

  • @musicloverSF good idea i have still never actualy eaten a sardine! ever!! i will do it.

  • Hi Remy! I'm sorry I repeated the same mistake again. For a moment I forgot that you don't understand that language. Actually I'm so used to write in that Swedish dialect. Here is the exact translation:

" Awesome video! It seems so delicious. Yummy, let me have it Remy - lol. "

P.S. I guarantee, next time I will communicate with you in English only. Ok Remy?

Though you are intelligent and so cute, at 1:33 & 1: 34 your pose is so nice. Conclusion of video with a cute, graceful smile.

  • @JinnMokkil thank you!! i wish i coudl speak it. when i was smiling my dad was laughing his head off because of my word i made up

  • Lush push video!

Pymil mhuz ummileen escantie catty. Chum chum marfyieqe Remy - Lol.

  • i guess it coould meant that! oh you are right because it says tasty. oops! my first definition is not quite make sense:)

  • Hi remi

  • @TheChopstixofdoom hi!!! how s it going?

  • @FoodOddities just fine thanks =]

  • caviar should be illegal. the fish is becomeing extinct.

  • @88pie88 i guess that is true for some of the fish.like the realy big russian ones.

  • Another Remy thriller and with an Aftertasty chaser! Good to see you again as always.

  • @wizard1396 thank and good to hear from you too!

  • yuck!! Your stomach must really be brave

  • @Cherokeeandme10 my stomach and brain fight all the time to see which is brave or dumb:D

  • @MollyLuvsMusic do you like sushi too? it is my favorite food.

  • I think it's the colour that would put me off those. That shade of orange is fine in a carrot, but it somehow doesn't look quite healthy in an egg, even a fish egg.

  • @imbethondion you know what you are right. it is like marbles or glass beads more than some thing real

  • It's to be expected that you would find this... somewhat overwhelming. As you noted, the Japanese use this as substitute for Tarako (Flying Fish Roe) in sushi... and they eat neither by the huge spoonful. It would need the shari and nori to make it palatable... a balancing act of flavors and textures.

I shudder to think what kind of person would just sit down with a big ol' bowl of roe and start to chow down. Scary...

  • @Kenko706 yes! sometimes i go too far. i shoud have eaten a finger full first and then go for more.

  • You look familiar.. You look like the boy from The Wendy Williams Show.. :D Haha.. Hi Remy! Yay, a new episode. LOL, "Aftertasty"? Haha... I don't think I'd like those though.. :D But I'm willing to try them once I get to eat some sushi again. :) You're so funny, keep it up!

  • @winxknight hey yes! i AM the boy from the Wendy WIlliams show!! i think it will be a new thing where i make up words for things. got to keep trying new stuff right?

  • @FoodOddities LOL... :D Yup, it's a good idea. You'll start the FoodOddities famous dictionaries. Looking forward to your next episode. Keep it up Remy. ^_^

  • @winxknight thank you!!!:D

  • you should eat ox tail!

  • @chriztinalori then it is on my list now i have never tried it!

  • Hey, have you ever tried eating the hottest pepper in the world (bhut jolokia aka the ghost pepper) before?

  • @BOBCOMproductions i never have. i was always afraid of spicy foods but i am working up now i put hot sauce on lots of things and i hope to be ready for really hot ppepers some time. my dad ate a whole habenero once and drooled for an hour.

  • Looks yummy:) btw if you family is ever in Southfield go to the Tokyo Buffet (next to Star theater) all the sushi u can eat plus frog legs and oysters:)

  • @stephaniebarney we do go to southfield some times! all you can eat sushi?i didnt know anyone had that. i will tell my dad.

  • Those are actually good on top of some sushi rolls. Yum

  • yes! it is how i like it. on california rolls too.

  • The cartons are THAT SMALL?

  • @JelloOnWeb lol! i guess they would be!!but really i got it in a package all together.

  • I love eating the roe with sushi, and sometimes, I will put a clump of the roe in my mouth, and I like the bubble wrap effect! But for someone who does not like it; it is way too much, an most definately aftertastey!:D

  • @Mzrougepoupee yes! when i get a little on my plate i chase it around with my finger and eat them but i never in my life had a whole clump. i learned i have to work up to it:D

  • LOL! Little tiny egg cartons!

    :P

Interesting! I'd have thought they would be just like caviar!

Aftertasty is a great word! So many things I don't like because of that- like diet sodas- I can always taste a total aftertaste from drinking those or eating anything with artificial sweeteners!

  • @RogCBrand thank you! have you tried any of the new sweeterners? some thing called stevia i have never tried but people say it is good and natural. guess what? your food item is next i am so excited and looking forward to it!

  • @FoodOddities I've tried stevia- it didn't seem very sweet to me. I'm a big tea drinker and I like a bit of milk and sugar in my tea and it just didn't seem to work out for it- but maybe I should try it again- I almost bought a stevia plant once. It would be interesting to see if just using the leaves right off the plant might work better- or if it would add a "flavor", as I don't want the true taste of my tea messed up.

That's cool Remy, I'm looking forward to seeing what you do!

    :D

  • yum!!!! I love roe!

  • @LaiLinx3 its good right? but maybe not a whole spoon for me.

  • You should do a halloween special and eat something people considered scary! hahaha like eat cow eyeballs or something! BTW I like your videos lol

  • @PinoyZo1 i love that idea!! eyeballs are somet hing i dont know anyone who has tried it.

  • u r sooo brave! i can never do that! :O

  • @BriannaRodriguezTV thank you! maybe i was too brave though because it was not as good as i hoped:)

  • I Agree With only the Popping Part But the Rest i think it tasted a Little Sweet but somewhat bitter :P They Are Quite Juicy a Tiny Bit :P In Sushi Basicallly THe Usualy is an oval shaped rice ball with it on top Thats It! :P xD Pretty Lame RIte? :P

  • @MrOmgMiko yeah and california rolls sometimes? i usally love them in sushi. but a big bite is not so good.

  • @FoodOddities Indeed :P Maybe u should try the Crunchy Roll <3 In Love :P

  • @MrOmgMiko ooo sounds good!!!

  • Yummmy! :S haha what food you you plan on eating next? :)

  • @JackAndArora it will be a really easy one. reaaally easy. it is a special honey that only is made in one place and taste like no other honey anywhere and doesnt even taste like honey. so i am looking forward to it!!

  • @FoodOddities sounds not to bad!

  • @JackAndArora it will be an easy time!! finally.

  • looked tasty!

  • @1337sh33p i was hoping it would be! but not as good as i though they would.

  • can you have to eat them cold or hot?

and how do you like cold or hot?

  • @shaggyolsen i think they are only eaten cold in japanese style cooking its the only way i have tried it but maybe hot would be good?

  • your smile at the end is SOOO cute!

  • @fulishproductions thank you:) my dad was laughing so hard at my word he had to take the sound out:)
