The best performance of 1th and 4th dance, which I have seen on youtube. Very impressive, with good phrasing and not mechanic. Really talented young pianist.
You play very well! The only thing I'd say is not to move your upper body. You did great. I'd also recommend the piano school Opus.119. They're also on youtube. I go there.
@pianomasterbrandon1 Some Pianists use the movement of the upper body for expression purposes. As long it does not infringe on the technical performance and it help her expression and interpretation there is nothing wrong with it. And this lady is quite a talented pianist. Cheers.
wow..so young n yet so musical..reminds me when i tried 2 play tiz song b4 n i was oredi age of 20..n all i got was scolded by my piano teacher haha...
I can't remember what grade was it but I played the first movement for a trinity grade exam. If I had played like that it would probably be a distinction! of course this doesn't sound like its played by a professional, but still technically its fine.
This is a 12 year old playing people, and the pedal work isn't the big problem. It's the voicing that needs work. Emotionally I would say for a 12 year old thats all there can really be. She hasn't even had any large life experiences, where is she suppose to pull these emotions from. Good Job and i am sure you will mature into amazing player.
Yes, i agree with dsouphi..compared to others 12 years old she seems quite mature for her age..we're adults, we cannot expect that much from a kid -i can see that she stays focused and technically she's on the wright track!Bravo!
Well said, a child must learn music if he likes, must not be forced. I was a child prodigy on church organ, know what you talk about. But.. at later age my classical preparation was quite useful to learn jazz and rock
This is one piece that I play often and for contests and exams. I think you did pretty good overall, but the 3rd and 4th should be faster and you should reduce the number of pauses in your pieces.
For a dance, her phrasing sure is weird and stuttery. I understand she's trying to put "emotion" into it, but it sounds like an outsider trying to recreate a spirit she doesn't understand. Maybe she should have listened to some Romanian folk music first.

So much springier and dancier than other renditions. Such a feel for the music of Eastern Europe.

Get over it! Many professionals have idiosyncratic form, posture, style. What's important is the artistry and sound...after it all it is music!

There is no "direction" or meaning to the sound now.. improving that will improve everything.

I think she doesn't get this piece... to much pedal and no intrepretation. but technically is ok..
R0bertKing 4 years ago
she really didnt capture the emotion or rawness of this piece... technically fine! but even in the last three movements it was rather robotic.
magical piece though, genius/
