And do you believe in the 1st Amendment and freedom of speech? I see that Europe is in such a self-loathing, self-debasing state that I could be arrested for making these statements there.
The white race deserves what it is going to get because it is today truly spineless, self-debasing and very, very sick and perverse. God has condemned this race to damnation because it has lost its will and survival instinct...... It is now a barren estate of glories and greatness from times past......
I don't want to live in a world without the influence of Western civilization. And without a doubt it is waning and yes it scares me. It scares me a lot. I fear for the future. You should too if you could start thinking with your brain and not your heart.......
You can wish for your cozy, loving, fluffy worldview all you want. It will never be as you wish. There will always be inequality between races because they are not equally intelligent, hard-working, future-driven, efficient, morally-upright, etc.
I thank God I am white and American. I thank God for the Founding Fathers. I thank God I had the parents I did and that I knew my father and I have the same last name as my father and grandfather..... LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I dismiss the modern drivel of internationalism and universal value of all cultures and all societies. It is proven to me everyday when I pick up my newspaper and read the daily crime blogger...... Do you care about statistics? Or does your overflowing loving heart get in the way of statistics for IQ; crime; illegitimacy; drug-use; academic achievement; standard-of-living within nations and between nations; Nobel prize recipients; AIDS transmission rates
I don't care a whit what any of you say or think about me, my life, my degree, or anything else.... I too appreciate Bach and all the great classical musicians. They were geniuses. This is indesputable. And they are products of their race and culture just as much as all of us are products of our countries' of origin and our parents.
Go to Africa and live in Zimbabwae and tell me about the equal value of all cultures and societies.
self loathing European...surely that's us all...Bach,Beethoven,Mozart, Haydn etc go beyond colour, gender, country, religion, they are universal....they transcend ant nationalist rubbish and if you don't understand that then you don't understand their music...they are the very opposite of fascism in all its guises and always will be...a degree eh? obviously not from a very good university.....or did you buy it online??
Finally I advice you to ask for your money back on that degree :) It seems that only help increase your ignorance not your knowledge, and even your hate remarks about: "not the Mexicans or any of the others". is so pointless who do you know that? you just admit that the white race is declining, that means the other races are then going up :). Yay for the other races!!
Bach is the consequence of many factors, and you should not confuse Bach with race or nationality, I can ask you where is the North American Bach? But then I would be just reinforcing your argument about nationalities...
Just for fun I wanted to prove that your initial comment is a racist remark, sadly you not only prove it but also add more. I honestly don't want to humiliated you more than you already did to yourself. Gulda married Yuko Wakiyama, would you said that is decline in withe race?
Ah, a self-loathing European. Yes, that's a modern phenomenon something Bach would never have encountered in his day or even fifty years ago. It goes with the general decline of the white race.....
I have a degree in European history. They are the people that gave us the modern world, not the Mexicans or any of the others.
And please tell me..... where is the Mexican Bach either in history or now?
@eslebenderfuhrer lol I live here, I am half german, half brazilian... but if you think Mexican "kultur" is less in some ways than European, you are even more ignorant than your comment makes you look :). Go get some "kultur" by reading History, you might find interesting to learn how much "kultur" other countries have.
Ouff! Why does people in ytube comments don't just stfu and enjoy this wonderful music. You know nothing about music and every attempt to define which of these "monsters" is the best can only miserably FAIL (as your life). Happy, now?
@jayliew1 I agree with you. I must point out that no one has Gould's timing and Gould brings out the independence of each voice better than anyone I have heard.
@maslina10 In Bach's music, timing is very important. Why shouldn't an artist be eccentric? Gould's playing on the, "Golberg Variations" is some of the most sensitive playing I've ever heard. Some people equate perfect timing with coldness."The nicities are artificial". What does that mean? Nothing about Gould's playing sounds artificial to me. I like Goulda, but he's no Gould!
Gulda is one of my favourite pianists but my favourite recording (live) is of Mieczysław Horszowski playing this when he was in his 90s....Bach Recital - Arbiter recording 113...the recording also includes the Prelude and Fugue (Liszt transciption of Bach's BWV 543)....that he was so tiny and able, until the year before he died at 100, to still perform is truly amazing.........
IGulda is the Bach player in my home.Gould always interesting but this is fantastic from tempo to musical argument I so agree with this hope i learn more from it.I thought Pogorelich was perfect!
@durro9xl - It is much harder to play these pieces at a slow tempo. That doesn't mean it sounds better (that's subjective) but to insult this great pianist with such a snobbish comment is pure ignorance. This rendition is outstanding in a different way than you prefer.
The interpetations of Gould vs. Gulda are so totally different but both staggering in my opinion. There is room for both in my musical universe. Intensly demanding pieces superbly played by both pianists.
For those of you interested in Gould read Katie Hafner's recent book called " A Romance on Three Legs."
Besides Mr. Ryan Whitney´s performance, this Gulda one is simply the best: pure, clean, paused... Bach is beauty, and not a frantic version of desperate performers.
Gould ain´t that bad but, why SO fast?... the piece falls down while hearing him.
coherent and well played. Nice velvety texture. IMO, it does not have an appropriate character for the piece (No topping the GG version), but still fun to listen to.

Molto bello. A questa velocità "ridotta" riesce a dare un tocco romantico, portando in superficie la bellezza, senza snaturarlo.

guldas playing is very subtle, without any exaggeration. i still would like some more dynamics and agogic.
i have made a recording of this piece of myself playing it, and i would be glad if someone could give me some critics on my way.
it is located on my channel, or you can go directly to it by adding this to the url:

It is the piece wich is played in Schindler's list, a german plays this piece while the others are killing jews.
I would have prefer if John Williams had himself compose the piece.
Anyways, great suite, and great interpretation.

Maybe not, but is that the most important? Gould's manner is rather eccentric, the sound is cold, and some of the "niceties" are artificial.
