Well, J.K.Rowling herself admitted that Tonks was not included in the story at first, that she made her up especially for OotP, and at first she was not supposed to end up with Lupin... I don't knowm I always thought it seemed a bit rushed how they ended up together in HP6. Seems like she was in a rush to pair Lupin off and stop all the rumors within the fan community of Lupin and Sirius being together LOL.
umm i did not know sirius/lupin together thing and i doubt its true prove it to me if u care though
