As a kid I would get her albums out if my parents collection and play them while staring at her pictures. I thought she was beautiful then and seeing these pictures again I still think she's beautiful. My Dad must have thought so too, my younger sister is named Claudine.

She claimed it was an accidental shooting but who knows? The prosecution mishandled important evidence which wasn't allowed to be presented. According to Wikipedia..... "The jury convicted her of a lesser charge—misdemeanor criminal negligence—and sentenced her to pay a small fine and spend 30 days in jail." Even though they were divorced, Andy Williams always supported her very publicly throughout the trial.

great video, I would like to now how she is today, is she happy? I have always been inpressed and influenced by her persona, and wish her good karma... even though spider died as a result of her hand... I do believe there was more to the story than we were told, these moment never just happen they build over time before coming to a life changing cresendo. At any rate, this event signaled the end of a very talented person at a time when she was just starting to be interesting.

She's in her 60's now, and is married to the lawyer who defended her at her murder trial. He dumped his wife for Claudine. They live in Aspen... or they did the last I heard.

Actually she got famous for singing "Meditation" in "Run for your Life" with Ben Gazzara in the 60's. That series is rerunning and I have my DVR all ready.

@jazza123456789o Claudine married her lawyer who represented her in the Spider Sabitch case and lives in Aspen and Hawaii with him. Not sure if she ever had kids with him, though. VERY sad to see her marriage end with Andy Williams and even sadder for her three kids to have to deal with all this. Her middle son lives in Costa Rica and her daughter, Noelle, once did some modeling. Hope these tidbits of info help. (For more info, read Andy's book, "Moon River and Me".)

She was once married to Andy Williams but she faded from the spotlight after the trial and it's anyone's guess where she is now. I've often wondered what ever became of her. I remember hearing her sing a song called Monsieur DuPont and I thought at the time how well it fit her voice. I would love to find that clip of her singing it..

I have a wonderful and clear memory of hearing this around 1967 (I was only 11 that year) when my mother heard it somewhere and bought the "45." Mom called for our neighbor to come over (a lovely French "war bride") and played it for her. I remember that Mrs. B's eyes tear-up a bit in appreciation! So nice to hear this again and remember that happy afternoon.
