The lead singer and band leader, known as Jason Cheetham or Jay Kay, does not go by the name Jamiroquai. Jamiroquai is the name of a large act that Jay Kay fronts, and that Stu Zender and some other very talented bassists have played with. Your use of "him" and "he's" were incorrect, as is (to a lesser extent) the idea that you could "call" jamiroquai, as Jamiroquai is not a person, but infact a group.
@PartyMcFlyMusic im 11 aand in set 3 english...so does it really matter how i put things!just because i write a few things wrong you just had to take advantage didnt you...asshole
@TheBassking14 Hey man, I meant no offense. Just dropping some knowledge on you, as "Jamiroquai" referring to a person as opposed to a group is one of the biggest misconceptions people have about this band. No need to start name calling; I didn't mean to upset you. Have a good day man, and keep listening to Jamiroquai!
Fabulous job. Very few people complete this with precision AND groove. And the work you put into the signal chain really shows - great sound! Love that slide up to the ending flourish at the end of the 1st chorus.
I like a little more clarity in the upper-mids, but just my taste in the sound. Performance: A+ :)
@HatTrax Hi. You have made an impression on me, really liked your guitar playing.) Today I bought a Dean EDGE Q6 tell me please what processor you use, or advise you if it's not hard. Thank you and good luck to you.
Wow. I just started to play bass about a month ago and I thought I was starting to get good but then I saw this. I'm still going to keep with it though. You can be my role model.
pretty good, but don't be afraid to cut frills off. the bass is basically the root of the whole thing, sometimes is good to take some freedom here and there, but don't overload it with curls and baroquisms, or you'll get lost in them. nice done anyway.
wow, i just shit my pants. that was the best version ive heard. i know you guys are like magicians and don't like to give away your secrets, but where did you get that tab. i would really appriciate it.
@MuscleCharger Since then I've owned both a markbass 4x10 and an aguilar 1x12. The ampeg's tweeter wasn't to my liking-- the markbass cab and the aguilar sound much warmer by comparison. All in all, I'd say the ampeg tone comes from the head more than the cab, in my opinion. the little mark head sounds more clean (like a DI) than classic ampeg tone. That being said, I'm very happy with how the markbass head sounds with the aguilar cab.
Each passing day i'm more convinced i should play bass instead of guitar. And this kind of music of course. It would be boring as fuck if playing punk or some shit like that.
I have a question though, how did you go about splitting the signal path (was it the XLR on the sansamp aswell as the input and output on it?) and what difference does this make to the overall sound??
@JacoBrownolymetal666 So this was a while ago, but I think what I did was used the 1/4" through jack in addition to the 1/4" output jack of the sans amp BDDI. Like most pedals, you can disable the processing that the pedal adds, so both the through and the output jacks would have had the same signal flowing out of them. It's a useful trick.
@iPodGaming I agree. I think the biggest thing was that I wasn't ever really satisfied with the innate sound that bass has, thus I had to do a lot to mask it. Just sounds too 'new' and not 'warm' in my opinion. Since then I've managed to try out a few basses, and ended up picking up a Squier vintage modified Jbass. I threw in new pickups and a new bridge, along with a preamp. I just run it through an avalon di into pro tools, through ampeg svx amp sim and add some compression. Sounds perfect!
Excellent... The description is a little confusing, did you really need that amount of compression? :S... BTW, you have an excellent technic buddy, very nice playin'.
The only thing I don't like about this video is it shows that knowledge of equipment and being able to afford the equipment is more important than talent.
@poomanonfire I think that more than anything it shows that dedication is the key. I've playing for more than 8 years now. Gear definitely doesn't make the difference. In my opinion, the more complicated the gear gets, the worse its going to sound. I've since dumped much of that gear and just focused on having a good DI and good bass amp.
@poomanonfire I see what you mean. I'm finding that for funk my cheap squier vintage modified jazz bass sounds a lot better than my fender american jazz deluxe V, so there certainly are gems amongst cheaper gear. I could record another version with the squier if you're interested.
I'm trying to get Paul's tone on this song. What kind of strings do you have here and how did you have your GEB 7 set up? Can you send me a shot of the EQ?

What do you think of the association: Markbass head + Ampeg cab(s) ?
Ampeg tone only with cabs ?
Your opinion interest me because I intend to do the same amps set, I like the Ampeg tone but the heads are very dear.....
Markbass heads seem well and good value for money.

IMO, it didn't sound "warm" enough the way you wanted it because it was bram new (I'm assuming)
but I'm glad you finally got your sound. I'm just using an old Yamaha without an amp xD
