Sephiroth should have made an appearance and chopped her fat head off. Cloud should have followed Sephiroth to this world and summoned 'Neo Bahamut' or Bahamut Zero' to kill off this Bahamut, done them all a favour then face'd off with Sephiroth again and given him another big Omnislash! Brahne may be grotesque and creepy looking and completely evil but damn, that was one kick ass villainess!

And her death actually was very sad.

This is a sign of a good video game, making a nasty character's death be actually extremely sad and heart wrenching in the end despite the antagonist being a real ass.

The best about FF9 are the cutscenes especially those with the summons... but gameplay wise about the same as them all, due to the lack of flexibility (like in ff7 and 8) even worse and story wise pretty lame.

Best story for me was ff7.

I enjoyed the game for sure. The only drawback is that I really didn't care for the characters in the game like I usually do in other FF games. As for gameplay and story, though, the game was superb.
