For you guys who say that the English version is superior, I see nothing superior about something that changes the names of characters who are better known by their Japanese names in the games, although it is true that the 4Kids dub of Hoshi no Kaabii had fewer names changed than any other dub by 4Kids, making it only superior to the other dubs.

Okay, I think 4Kids actually did a good job with the dubbing on Kirby. Better than ALOT of their other work at least. I DO dislike the changing of soundtracks though, especially for songs with no words. I love the Kirby game soundtrack and like how they put it in the Jap show. 4Kids made it sad. Thank any Diety that Funimation exists.

When you make an Anime, you're suppose to stay true to the Original creators work and follow his/her rules. Saying poyo doesn't make him brainless.

I got sick of kirby because of the Super predictable plot, and lack of character developement. And now I find out it was so terrible because of censorship.
Kirby was one of 4Kids best dubs, their audio quality was much better then the Japanese version, their voice acting was much better, they synced lip flap where as the Japanese version was always a little out of sync, and it wasn't boring and dull sounding as the Japanese version. The only good voice acting in the Japanese version was Tiff and Kirby, the rest sound like something from an abridged series. This dub was their best, the rest of their dubs suck.

Basically, any anime that LOOKS like it could be for kids, will be mutilated so badly until it IS for kids, even if it was originally much deeper and darker. Take the 2003 Astro Boy anime. Sony did that shit. I'm suprised they kept most of the racism in tact, considering how the U.S. likes to try and sweep stuff like that under the rug. They destroyed any trace of anything else that was in the original, however, taking out death and love.

From 2:30 to 2:34 it's faint but one can still hear Kirby saying "Galaxia Sword Beam" I uncovered this with Audacity. It was probably an error on 4Kids part, it was eithor retain the voice or retain the sound effect. The voice got greatly dimmed but the sound effect was greatly retained instead.
I would disagree, in most cases, we're used to the English voices, and can't get used to the Japanese voices, but if you get used to watching the Japanese versions of most animes, then the ENGLISH voices will sound strange and alien. If you get used to Japanese voices, you will find that the 4Kids voices sound unrehearsed, idiotic, and just plain crappy. Take Jason Griffith. A random guy off the street, while TMS anime gets a professional. Although, in Pokemon, English =best.

Guys, stop arguing about Kirby's speech pattern.
Sakurai worked on the anime as well. Obviously he'd have to say some words.
And frankly, I like that he says some words sometimes.
If he said "Poyo" every time, sure, its fine.
But he cant be completely brainless.
Babies have a tendancy to copy some words. And if you hadn't noticed, Kirby becomes somewhat more intelligent when taking an ability.

And I've noticed that the 4kids people like to stat the obvious and change any deeper meanings what so ever... if you can even know what they are saying because of all there heavy accents...
Plus the choice of music seems to rush and muddle up the sound quality... sometimes well though ad simple music is MUCH better....

Basically, any anime that LOOKS like it could be for kids, will be mutilated so badly until it IS for kids, even if it was originally much deeper and darker. Take the 2003 Astro Boy anime. Sony did that shit. I'm suprised they kept most of the racism in tact, considering how the U.S. likes to try and sweep stuff like that under the rug. They destroyed any trace of anything else that was in the original, however, taking out death and love.

NBC (yes, NBC), ADV, 4Kids, Funimation... they're all the same to me. Many dubbing companies still see cultural differences as the greatest obstacle in anime.

Yeah... I don't see THAT much of a difference except for japanese is a little bit more actiony while in 4kids it's more cartoony (actiony and cartoony, aren't i a sophisticated critic)
But yeah I say you should be happy with this. it's not like they erased breast lines, censoring blood, making anime a giant western melting pot instead of a salad bowl, or changing riceballs to jelly donuts

From 2:30 to 2:34 it's faint but one can still hear Kirby saying "Galaxia Sword Beam" I uncovered this with Audacity. It was probably an error on 4Kids part, it was eithor retain the voice or retain the sound effect. The voice got greatly dimmed but the sound effect was greatly retained instead.

I would disagree, in most cases, we're used to the English voices, and can't get used to the Japanese voices, but if you get used to watching the Japanese versions of most animes, then the ENGLISH voices will sound strange and alien. If you get used to Japanese voices, you will find that the 4Kids voices sound unrehearsed, idiotic, and just plain crappy. Take Jason Griffith. A random guy off the street, while TMS anime gets a professional. Although, in Pokemon, English =best.

watch kirby's mouth at 2:31 Kirby was supposed to say something there but 4kids cut it out when they dubbed it but they kept it in the Japenese version. Why would 4kids do that? All kirby said was "Galaxia............. SWORD BEAM!"
