Thank you for posting this rarely heard piece (and especially this fine live performance, now out-of-print on CD). Although Martin was Swiss, after WWII he moved to the Netherlands with his Dutch wife Maria. Apparently he accepted the commission for a work commemorating the 500th anniversary of the birth of Erasmus only after two Dutch composers had turned it down. The titles of the three movements have been translated as: 1. The Independent Man 2. In Praise of Folly, and 3. A Plea for Peace.
