  • Great video David.CB radio's put out 4 watts stock, side band is about 12 watts.you can get a 10 meter radio have channel 19 installed and put out 80 watts.Or peak and tune a CB radio to approx 40 watts. The higher the wattage the greater the range. In a truck my CB would range from 10 - 20 miles and that was stock .On side band my range was 40 -60 miles.

  • @iamafterburner thanks

  • what makes you think that they will confiscate radio's

  • Dipole link?

Them little lead acid cells are great, although I have been getting the NiMh batteries on flea bay, they even sell a 10000 (10Amp) D cell for under 5 bux shipped. Batteries for the tech minded are always going to be a priority along with the means to charge them. Jump on down to get yourself a lawn tractor battery, some serious power in a small package albeit not very portable

  • @CTOL1 good stuff ... thanks

  • @CTOL1 I will be putting up the dipole vid.

  • I really enjoy your vids! I always learn something new:) congratulations on your new title:)

  • @morningmayan hey thanks

  • Pointing with a knife would be much more survivalistic ;-)

  • @MerlinD1968 I like that ... survivalistic ...

  • Thanks for info. Buying that base camp radio.

  • Good video. I'm into HAM and CB radio. I'm finding that both would possibly be needed in a tough situation. Thanks for the upload, and great idea for the gel cell battery, something I had no idea about.

  • @MrRogueShark good stuff

  • Suggestion for those who want cheap emergency crap-get ya some road flares, great for signaling the problem zone and can be used as a torch weapon.

  • @valhala56 yep

  • Good stuff, thank you!

  • @MaKaElectric thank you

  • Geat vid Dave, Just one question. Where do you store all your crap and how the hell do you organize it when the SHTF buddy.

  • Have to ask. I just picked up a CB and would like to plug it in through my cigarette lighter. Do I need one of the gel cells you were talking about? My CB has a safeguard on it so it shuts off if something is not right. I tie the wires together plug it into the cig lighter and it shuts down. Thanks

  • @livenlrge the gel cells are only needed if you are away from your car ... normally the cigarette lighter would be enough ...

  • @ActontheActor I wonder what I am doing wrong then. I am sure I didn't cross my wires. Thanks

  • @livenlrge what is the problem ? did you check fuse for the lighter plug ? carry extra fuses ..they may blow ... is there a fuse in 0 line on the power cord ?

  • @livenlrge You need to find somone who knows what they are doing when wiring the cb to your car, just sticking wires into the cigarette lighter is well lame.

  • Turn the music down so we can hear you.
