@m0103587 I flew on a delta B737-800 this past Saturday from SAT-ATL and they had screens on each of the seats. I watched the movie "Contagion." I heard that delta is in the process of putting personal movie screens on every plane.
This past summer me and my father flew with Delta and we were on this aircraft. Im fifteen years old, and we sure as heck get bored easily so too see that there were no tvs from Houston to Amsterdam( thats almost a 9-9:30 fight) i was really disapointed. Not only that but a couple years( i have to say four) ago, I flew with British Airways. They had just stacked the new aircraft with touch screen color tvs. Come on Delta..this is 2011, and other aircrafts have this for the last 4-5 years.
@itsmegp46 American Airlines, obese stewardess, bad food and I got screwed out of my aisle seat by some fat smelly broad who farted the entire trip. That's why.
I really think the TVs are unnecessary. I never use them. I just bring my laptop. If anything, they could use all the saved money from not installing them to improve service.
when I travel I love going up to the 1st class bathroom and taking a gross rankerous stenchy Shit and leavin the door wide open. I always grab pops, beer, nuts ect ect whatever i can off the cart when the attendants aren't looking. Fuck em....
I think the 767 is by far the best long haul cabin arrangement devised... I recently flew on one on a 9 hour flight...... when i saw i had to sit in the middle section, i thought i was in for it... But the aisle adjacent middle seats are perfect... i love it
jajaj very nice i favorite part was at 1:22 I love the bathroom of the airplanes no idea but its small and cute... specially when it flushes... ffhhhssiuuuuu!
So my mother flew DL 764 JFK-NIC and the aircraft had no PTVs, had worn out seats and dirty lavatories. The same story was on her way back via DL 752. She said she will not fly DL again and will forfeit all her accrued miles (she has more than enough for a free ticket to Europe.) She won't even fly on miles!
@v7y5y335 - this is indeed a Boeing 767-400 domestic, reconfigured by Delta for INTERNATIONAL OPERATIONS. i DOES FEATURE THE BUSINESS ELITE SEATING IN THE FORWARD 1/2 OF THE AIRCRAFT. Ship 1814 is a Delta bought domestic original aircraft. I flew it many times in both configurations.
Boy, Delta's Business elite really is a joke. Their domestic seats are also nothing special either. Makes you wish the industry were less of an oligopoly and more competitive.
@mircoalexander Aren't all 767-400's outfitted with PTV's/AVOD's in Delta's fleet now? Their domestic product is a bit better than their international one.
@scaremenga Better? I used to think that Delta, as all American airlines I know of, offers complimentary beverages on intercontinental flights. Last time I flew Delta (PIT - CDG) in February, they offered beer, wine and all non-alcoholic drinks complimentarily while they make you pay for it domestically.
@mircoalexander In terms of services offered, I'd prefer flying with Delta regionally (international isn't bad) because of onboard WiFi and better specialty meals (to Mexico, Caribbes, and Canada.. I think?). DL is a great airline period, just regional seems to have more amenities that appeal to me personally.
@scaremenga No doubt about Delta being a great airline for American standards, for both domestical and international flights. Of the four major Anerican airlines I flew with internationally, I definitely liked Delta the best. But domestically, I couldn't really tell the difference between DL, CO, UA and AA. I think the American market is too competitive for one Airline to really stand out.
@mircoalexander "Domestical".. reminds me of a joke involving the word "test".. :D
You're right though, American Airlines 738 product is really nice, looks great, but I don't know how it feels.. I haven't flown on one of their new aircraft yet. CO is great as well, but aren't they typically more costly? Never flown on United before, and don't really plan to.. heard absolutely atrocious things about their delays and baggage handling.
@Dangthom Probably not that much more costly compared to the "standard" floors.. and I doubt that an extra few dollars for that small amount of square footage would be significant. It is a nice touch though!
@scaremenga ive ridden on diesel9's lol but after flying in uniteds crjs with 37 inch seat pich in coach i am spoiled forever they upgraded me to economy plus cause they over sold the flight and the person never showed i can tell u i hate first class i rather see the wing cause its the best part seeing the flaps and ailerons in action on landing
@crapper1 DC-9's, MD-80's, and MD-90's are extremely uncomfortable to me, but the JT8D/IAE V2500's engine noise always makes it up. :) I agree with the wing comment.. there's something particularly amazing about the -400's wing, I think it's the raked wingtips.
ive wanted to be a pilot since i was like 7 but its just so fun to be up in the air. i think im going to fly for delta or south african airways when i grow up
1) Couple of reasons. Their minds are "tripped out" about the idea of FLYING through the sky at 600 MPH with two or three hundred other people. And they are completely comfortable in the airline seats. Relative to body size, a coach class seat for a child is like a first class seat for an adult. So, they aren't super uncomfortable like most of us adults. I remember going across the pond (the Atlantic for you non-aviation people) as a child and being perfectly comfortable and able to sleep.
What do you think about my following idea about chidlren and flying?
The inflight entertainment and other functional features of the passenger give them a sense of command for children. By control them, they can dream of control the aeroplane like the pilots.
Moreover, the package inflight meals (eg. mini package of sugar, salt, pepper and coffee milk) looks like small toys for children. Children love to collect small objects. Also, the inflight meals are usually colourful, which are attractive to the visual sense.
@FredLarsson actually, the 767-300 (ER) & 767-200 (ER) can both be fitted with the signature interior. Also, airlines can retrofit their old aircraft with similar-styled interiors (though they look like a cross between the old style bins and the signature ones)
@FredLarsson correct a b 777 is 3 3 3 configuration and a 767 is 2 3 2. one seat on each side shorter. the b 777 is larger in fuel size and seating and distance is longer on the B 777.

Well I am a flight attendant working for Thomson and im a flight attendant for thomson 767-600 I am only employed for those because I know my controls and how to do the safety stuff and they have all TVs in the back of the seats and ceiling TVs I work for that plane 5 days a week
Well that's not correct. Regulations don't specify the number of days flown per week, simply the number of hours flown. People do fly 5 days a week and they do it often, especially in regional airlines where most flight legs are short. The problem is that they only log 4-5 flight hours/day that way. If you're talking about major carriers, they like to use their crews differently, scheduling them for 3 day, long hours shifts that allow for flexibility in hub operations.
all of delta's 767-300's have tv's the 400's recenty have all been assigned on ETOPS routes and will be fitted with the new panasonic entertainment system
my ticket from lhr to jfk return cost only £230 !! they are not expensive. you can not compare delta with easy !! im in the industry and the 2 are very different business models !! i have flown easy and like them and cant wait to fly delta !!!!!!!
EasyJet is a low cost carrier. How can you even compare these two airlines? Anyways, Delta is good enough to make big profits, and that is good enough for its creditors.
Just look for yourself... there's no in flight entertainment, nothing... seating fit for a package airline... you'd expect a major Airline like Delta to maybe up their game a little.
Ummm, not when you're going to be on a plane for 7+ hours... staring at the back of a seat is extremely boring.... what about those that are nervous.. they'd crap themselves.
Even on 7+ hours there are things that are more importent like will the plane get from point A to point B or did they spend all there money on putting in the TVs. Look I have no problem with the TVs but safety(sp) is more importent then anything else is when flying.
Many other airlines are just as safe and have in flight entertainment... Delta have it in their other planes... so why not the 767-400 which is used on long haul routes. It doesn't make sense... you're paying full price for an inferior product and very uncomfortable seating.
No I'm paying for a safe plane and I'm paying to make sure I have a good pilot, co-pilot, and a flight attendant who knows how to do there job. I'm not paying for entertaninment that should not even be on the top of there list.
I fly FLL-ATL-FRA; FRA-ATL-FLL 3 times a year. And ALWAYS on a 757 from FLL to ATL and a 767-400ER from ATL to FRA. I have never been on a delta plane (18 planes a year) that didnt have a video system. Each and every seat has one, and I have to tell you... Delta, despite what everyone loves to say about American carriers, is the way to go. Great service, great food, great entertainment. Maybe I am partial because of my love of 767-400ER operated by Delta... but its always been great
flying delta lhr to jfk end of this month. seats 18ab out and 19ab coming home. i am right in saying one of those rows will have no window ?? hope not as i like my view !!
actually, not all -400ER have PTVs. The international configs do, the domestic configs don't. But, Delta is planning to convert all -400ER to international configs.
apprently we were meant to be flying on a 767 with delta but for some reason it ended up been a 777 from Dublin,Ireland thank god the 777 was fitted with PTVs,Delta were awesome but without the TVs on a 7 hour flight to Atlanta it would really suck.
tell me about it, Im a regular flyer of delta from Gatwick to Cincinatti on the 763, and I got excited when I found out they were flying 752 out of Gatwick which have PTV's, then they went and changed it back to 763 4 weeks before I fly again.
i think you went on a 757 because all 767 have tv`s and i know that because my mom is a flight ttendant for delta and i have gone from atl to gig on bussiness class and the flight attendant gave me a tour a round the plane and behinde every seat there was a tv and big tv`s on the selling.
not there. Delta's international in flight entertainment sucks. They won't bother to update the 767-300er which they use on most cross-atlantic flights.
does delta not have tvs for on the 764s to europe??

If you're talking about major carriers, they like to use their crews differently, scheduling them for 3 day, long hours shifts that allow for flexibility in hub operations.

There is no such thing as a 767-600. You must have mistyped it.

Because they spend a lot on keeping the planes in very good shape.....Parts are not cheep for Boeing jets......
How5by5 2 years ago
Why are delta so damned expensive... this is more basic than the Easyjet A319 that I flew on last week. :s
antfmcman 2 years ago
my ticket from lhr to jfk return cost only £230 !! they are not expensive. you can not compare delta with easy !! im in the industry and the 2 are very different business models !! i have flown easy and like them and cant wait to fly delta !!!!!!!
neilster98 2 years ago
EasyJet is a low cost carrier. How can you even compare these two airlines? Anyways, Delta is good enough to make big profits, and that is good enough for its creditors.
Axemen123 2 years ago
Just look for yourself... there's no in flight entertainment, nothing... seating fit for a package airline... you'd expect a major Airline like Delta to maybe up their game a little.
antfmcman 2 years ago
There are more importent things then having entertainment on the plane.
Epica124 2 years ago
Ummm, not when you're going to be on a plane for 7+ hours... staring at the back of a seat is extremely boring.... what about those that are nervous.. they'd crap themselves.
antfmcman 2 years ago
Even on 7+ hours there are things that are more importent like will the plane get from point A to point B or did they spend all there money on putting in the TVs. Look I have no problem with the TVs but safety(sp) is more importent then anything else is when flying.
Epica124 2 years ago
Many other airlines are just as safe and have in flight entertainment... Delta have it in their other planes... so why not the 767-400 which is used on long haul routes. It doesn't make sense... you're paying full price for an inferior product and very uncomfortable seating.
antfmcman 2 years ago
No I'm paying for a safe plane and I'm paying to make sure I have a good pilot, co-pilot, and a flight attendant who knows how to do there job. I'm not paying for entertaninment that should not even be on the top of there list.
Epica124 2 years ago
They all have in flight video systems... maybe this was shot from a newly acquired jet.
johne30587 2 years ago
yah but it makes the flight a little less boring
tednugent13 2 years ago
I just find other things to do. If it's a long flight then hey no problem. But when I go in a few months it's only a 4 hour flight.
Epica124 2 years ago
well having a couple if movies to watch during a 7-9 hour tripto frankfurt really helps
tednugent13 2 years ago
Well that does depend on the movie though. :p

Maybe I am partial because of my love of 767-400ER operated by Delta... but its always been great

do they have personal tv´s now on B767-400ER in coach class or on the B767-300ER coach class?
ozzieman55 2 years ago
not on the 767-300ER, but they do on the 767-400ER
yosniffy 2 years ago
actually, not all -400ER have PTVs. The international configs do, the domestic configs don't. But, Delta is planning to convert all -400ER to international configs.

was this in flight or on the ground?
jstapen 2 years ago
on the gound. the description says new and clean cabin after a HMV check - these happen on the ground. Also, why would the plane be empty?
flightsimulatorclips 2 years ago
apprently we were meant to be flying on a 767 with delta but for some reason it ended up been a 777 from Dublin,Ireland thank god the 777 was fitted with PTVs,Delta were awesome but without the TVs on a 7 hour flight to Atlanta it would really suck.
theirishmaniac08 2 years ago
If it was a -400 you would have Ptv's since they are internationally configured, but the -300 lacks them
planedudea380 2 years ago
not all 400s have them
ROUSHMUSTANG29 2 years ago
tell me about it, Im a regular flyer of delta from Gatwick to Cincinatti on the 763, and I got excited when I found out they were flying 752 out of Gatwick which have PTV's, then they went and changed it back to 763 4 weeks before I fly again.
767Dude 2 years ago
i went from gatwick to cincinatti in march - and just like you say - there were no tvs - and i couldn't sleep cos those 767s are loud!
Airbus294 2 years ago
i think you went on a 757 because all 767 have tv`s and i know that because my mom is a flight ttendant for delta and i have gone from atl to gig on bussiness class and the flight attendant gave me a tour a round the plane and behinde every seat there was a tv and big tv`s on the selling.
nwa1123 2 years ago
do 757s have this same seating arrangement (in the video) - because the plane i went on had 2 - 3 - 2 across.
And on the outside it looked like a 767.
Airbus294 2 years ago
o ok a 757 ha 3-3 sorry i made a mistake
nwa1123 2 years ago
thats okay - but thanks for helping me rule that out - I am now 100% sure it was a 767 i went on.
Airbus294 2 years ago
757 = 3 - 3 :)

anush10 2 years ago
where r the TVs on the back of the seats?
trancebeliever 2 years ago
not there. Delta's international in flight entertainment sucks. They won't bother to update the 767-300er which they use on most cross-atlantic flights.
anush10 2 years ago
OMG! maybe thats one of the reasons for their tickes being cheaper
