Keep the difficulty, it's Optional! So I prefer hardcore due to realism. And no bmx it's called skate for a reason. But what needs improving is story, character creation, and online, and better physics. Story idea would be all brand new skater from the streets, and more driven so say you gotta raise money to pay for your mothers medical bills or some shit like that, more emotion basically.

...they key is to have the tricks very hard to do or land and the point system for each trick to be fairly high to cap out...so when you skate with people online or whatever you can see that each player/skater has their own trick/tricks they are really good at... as a gamer i say its always good to give the player that REAL feeling towards the game, from the story, to interactions, movement ect.

I think skate 4 has to return to some kind of realism. That's the only reason why I loved the game so much because it reminded of real skateboarding...not bullshit like tony hawk pro skater. I think if they tweaked the controls a bit and some way on timing and catching the board would bring back that kind of realism.
