Don't even try to compare Hon with starcraft. Hon is a place where people flame like crazy because one mistake from a teammate can cause you to die, lose exp, gold, and affects your stats. Nobody thinks they're wrong so they blame other people. Starcraft on the other hand you can cover your ally mistakes by building different units and leaving won't affect your stats compared to hon.

The wc3 engine sucks in many ways actually. A lot of SC's strategic things wouldn't even be possible due to wc3's engine fairy terrible limitations regarding support for mass amounts of units...

Starcraft is an amazing game for anyone... easy to like easy to play its just the pro scene involves a bit more practise however if you play against comps watch some pros play and adapt to how they play (e.g you see he puts a pylon at like 9 probes) then u do to. give it a try. i suggest sc1 first becuz that gets u more used to it then sc2.

@talic864 I think you're wrong, Starcraft is not noob friendly. You'll end up getting owned a lot, only the persistent will eventually become good as they learn from their fails. Just like Heroes of Newerth, many of my friends gave up on that game early cause they found it was really hard and a none noob environment.

The matchmaking system is designed to pit beginners against beginners so that in the end there will be a low variation between win-loss ratios of most people if they play often enough. There aren't enough people at the moment for the system to get even matches consistently, but it works quite well even now.

@Dahlheim thats why you need to toughen up start in the begginer battles then go to some custom games and keep practicing if that doesn't work, get Sc2allin1 v.9.6.6 and download the entire starcraft2 and if you have it get the patches anyway you can to the latest and run sc2allin1. You can pick easy, medium, hard and insane ai. If your wondering, ai stands for artificial intelligence.

@Dahlheim Matchmaking in SC2 is, when you get the game you start out in the practice league(unless you were in a higher league in the beta), If you are good you will get out of the practice league within a few games, if you arent you will stay there to practice with other people with your level of skill until you get better and go into a more advanced league

The tank on the high ground is safe if not spotted, so its a good position yes, but high ground advantage is inexistent in this game anyway. If you can spot the unit, there are NO chance to miss or any sort of damage reduction.

Its a really sad thing right now, actually. Ramps offer NO advantage whatsoever either on your terms. Its quite ridiculous. And with all the special mobility stuff, the maps might as well be plain. Sigh.
