I dont think he was drunk. The rest of the band (slash duff n matt) have said many times that Axl didn't really show up to the rehearsals before that show at all (maybe except for that clip where he tries to sing "Coma") .. I think he was just un-prepared and had forgotten the lyrics.. But if you listen to the bootleg, he recovers and finish the song just fine though.. IIRC I dont think he fucked up any other songs that night (I have the bootleg)
