@Graenelolz Damn u jus told him how it is... I agree wit u tho. I ain't raw, I'm soft as a muthafuck lol jk. I'm only mean when Im provoked but still I'm pretty chill. I just hate it when people post comments acting like they know everything, and they hard, and they don't fall in love. That muthafucka u were talkin to was prolly twelve cuz he don't know that gangstas could love to. Ain't dat some shit lol
what else is there to say. this music is no more. L is no more. all we can do is remember how this nigga could have everuthing and he died. we all died with him. L could have been THE REALEST EVER. he just died be4 his time.... damn... life fucking sucks sometimes.. i wpuld be more happy if L was alive. making more real rap and make people know whats REAL.
"Ever since I was young I ripped mics and I killed beats-and I'm known to milk freaks and hit em on silk sheets-no dame can gimme a bad name-I got mad fame-I'm quick to put a slug in a fag brain-I be placing snitches inside lakes and ditches-and If I get AIDS then Ima start rapeing bitches!" -Big L
Why the does God take away all of the good rappers like Big L, 2pac, Guru (Gangstarr) and leave us with Souja Boy and Lil Wayne? Is this a joke God? Cuz it ain't funny man =(
This track suits the album cover perfectly. The beat is so dark it just puts fear in me, then L drops the rhymes and it just gets intense from there! Damn
@joemak13 L sucks kinda he's so overrated.. just look @ the lyrics too horror core anyone can do that. wth is he talkin about fuxin girls big L is so new school fux the new school it's all about bragging.. just becaue Big L is a good rapper that doesn't make him a good lyricist anyone can think of something like "suppoed to hoes to" there now I've justified to you why L is overrated.. so screw him and screw hi fans.. screw the new school!!!
@StreamerVideo youre fucking stupid. L is from the 90s. He's not new school and he's not overrated. Barely anybody even knows who he was and who he has influenced. Without L there is no Fat Joe, Jay Z, Rocafella or Bad Boy Records. I'm not saying those are good things, but L was a good thing for rap. "and then i break a motherfucker like a plastic spoon" "L being a virgin thats idiotic, if Big L got the AIDS then every cutie in the city got it" those are dope lyrics. go kill yourself. deaf prick
@joemak13 technically he is new school.. when you guys complain about new school you complain about what they rap about such as "screw new school all they rap about is drugs money those little fake gangsters" then you guys will go and listen to some Big L.. btw fun fact..
Jay-Z was one of the main people who helped to get big L noticed
Big L is in very few terror squad tracks and Big Pun was one of the main guys who helped get terror squad popular NOT Big L
@StreamerVideo L is not technically new school. L started in 1993. So I geuss MC Hammer is new school? Is Biggie new school? What about Jeru Tha Damaja?? Yeah. Shut the fuck up. Jay-Z got noticed BECAUSE L put him on some of his freestyles. and even then, Jay got waaaay outclassed on the mic. L had too rap twice as many verses to make up for jay. and nobodys saying Big L was first. but I think he's one of the best. i think he's better than Big Pun.
@joemak13 you're missing the point, new school and old school is not determined by rappers.. New School is a rap style.. Big L is new school he's just like the best new school rapper but he's still more of a new school type rapper because look @ the things he raps about bragging about hoes money clothes that's what I'm saying why do you find this so hard to comprehend?
@StreamerVideo because every rapper brags. it has nothing to do with schools. new school rappers have bad metaphors, bad simile and make up words like idiots. L was a wordplay master and nothing about him was flashy or new school. Listen to Ebonics and tell me that's new school
@StreamerVideo it's not complex but it's better than that whack beat filled auto-tuned out shit today. Big L kept it real, he spoke the truth and he kept the message of prosperity from nothing alive. If you want complex go read some Robert Frost or Henry David Thoreau. But i'm pretty happy blasting L, burning some, and drinking a beer. Nothing to complex about me and nothing to complex about my music. Most rappers can rhyme but not make sense. L rhymed and made sense every line.
@StreamerVideo also his freestyle were fucking incredible. he would just walk up to a mic and spit fire. Jay Z, Nas, and ASAP Rocky all steal L's lyrics 12 years after his death. He should be considered top 3 right up there with B.I.G and Pac
@StreamerVideo his freestyles were not pre-written dumbass. he just had the first line memorized so he wouldnt sound like a dumbass throughout the whole freestyle.
@joemak13 yes his freestyles were prewritten dude, that just shows me how little you know about what ur talkin about kid.. they were prewritten and memorized get ur facts straight
@StreamerVideo I've heard of Pun, a lot actually. I just prefer L's flow over Pun's, I like Pun. I just don't like his flow, I think it's to slow and played out. But Pun's a legend. I just think L is the best rapper. You can't change my opinion. And new school doesn't only include subject matter, but music video content, associated acts, and when they started. Every rapper raps about money and drugs. Is Grandmaster Flash's The Message new school too because he says he has gold on?
@joemak13 LOL LOL LOL, quit lying u aint ever listened to Big Pun.. if you have you would openly admit that Big Pun def had faster flow and more multis then Big L in like every song.. New School has vid content but i'm talkin about the new school rap style obv
brave in the heart, playin a part, amazingly smart Razor sharp, futuristic raps, state of the art Takin New York cats past the stars
@StreamerVideo Most rappers in the early 90's were about shoot em up, ho's, money and cars, murder murder murder, even Pun was like this. Did he have some songs that were not about that? Sure, but so did L. The difference is most new school rappers cannot flow or ryhme like L and Pun, because they're terrible. And the ones that can, regardless of their content, do not get any air play. Also, if you're going to pick out Pun bars, at least pick out his more complicated ones ffs.
@BigMurph106 see thanks for proving my point.. it is youtube and ur clearly pissed off and angrey while i could give a fuck what you say... and plus u write books me just afew sentences...im cooler
@TheShawnyoda Yet again, you're still responding. And if 400 characters is a book to you, it's no wonder why you can't spell for shit. If you actually didn't give a fuck, you wouldn't have wasted the energy typing a response. This ain't highschool nigga, how cool you think you are is irrelevant.
@joemak13 If that's my destiny it's meant to be Just remember to bury the motherfucker that bent me right next to me Aight crew? (No doubt Pun!) Aight then, let's fight then I'm hypened, comin with the thunder and the lightning Invitin the comp, ice on the arm Nights
Big L couldn't even touch some of Big Puns verses.. occasionally in lyrical complexity but def not in flow
@StreamerVideo That's what was so good about L. He could keep you entertained just talkin shit with a crazy flow, punchlines, etc. I don't listen to music to be bored by faggot ass concepts or emotional stories. He brags and says crazy shit but he always came at it in a unique way and that's entertaining.
You're cherrypicking random irrelevant lines that were just made to structure the song like they're supposed to be his best stand-out work. Stop being "fuck new school!!1" hipster faggot.
@RealNillaz nope dude, anyone could talk shit and keep a crazy flow, that's why artist who are able to diversify are more respected then artist who talk about guns n violence etc. it's not that hard to make a gangster rhyme watch: popped a glock to his notch on a block.. That's a multi right there see it?
and by your comment you just admitted Big L is a one dimensional rapper =]
And there are good rap songs that can talk about stuff without bragging about straight horror-core styles
@StreamerVideo popped a glock to his notch on a block.. That's a multi right there see it? hahahah dude stop, just because you can make a multi doesn't mean it's actually good. L did it at an advanced level and always came at it from a unique way. Big L wasn't a one dimensional rapper but MOST of his rhymes were about hardcore shit, that was him and that was his sound, ALL musicians have that. You listen to a certain artist for a specific theme or sound--
@StreamerVideo --like how some people listen to Immortal Technique for conscious music or Redman if you wanna laugh. No rapper covers all themes and they shouldn't because it wouldn't fit their image and they probably wouldn't be able to excel all of them. You say you hate "new school" because they do that but almost every pioneer and old school rapper did that too. Remember Big Daddy Kane? Ultramagnetic? They all did that too. But ofc. it's only bad when "new school" rappers do it. :eyeroll:
@RealNillaz well Tupac, Big Pun, Biggie, Rakim, Kool G, NAS (distracted by L's music so can't name too many more atm) anyways there are plenty of rapper who rap about peace and dark themes including Big L but L is usually straight gangster rap.. and old school rappers didn't do that.. there is a difference between talking about your good life and bragging about your good life.. and yes it is bad when new school rappers do it..
@StreamerVideo Pun, Biggie, Tupac, and Nas have all done gangster rap. Tupac was the most inconsistent out of them all because one song would be about murdering all his enemies, then the next would be about saving his race. L did a mix of horrorcore, gangster, and conscious. But most of the all the rappers you listed, specially earlier in their careers, had pretty violent lyircs. Even Kool G and Rakim who are considered the pioneers of Hip Hop told stories in their songs that were pretty gory.
@BigMurph106 L didn't really do conscious, and there is a difference between talkin about straight killin in a psycho horror core way, and talking about killing MC rivals wit ur rhymes or killing mc rivals cuz of a beef.. but then again Big L sometimes refers to killing mcs and NOT just straight killing so ye
@StreamerVideo L actually had some conscious songs, "street struck" being one example. It's just his hardcore style did not really allow him to be like Common or Rakim. If L had a chance to make more songs he'd probably have a better catalogue as far as the message of his songs go. But I know what you mean, "Hardpack Freestyle" is a great example to what you're talking about.
@StreamerVideo "I don't understand it", although not conscious in the general sense, does shed some light on what every rapper was thinking back in the 90's regarding the rap game. I was just saying Big L was capable of conscious songs, but yeah, not a whole lot of them. But to be fair, we are talking about a guy who almost had more freestyles than recorded songs.
@BigMurph106 ye but L has very few of those type of tracks too.. L is the most one dimensional horror core rapper who had the easiest stuff to rap about allowing him to create rhymes and get overrated by his fans.. He was super creative when he tried to be but this was only when he was rapping or bragging about himself or his rap skills
@StreamerVideo You're entitled to your opinion and everything, I just don't agree with you. A subgenre does not define an MC or automatically make them one dimensional. L had complicated multies, rhyme scheme, alliteration, wordplay, clever punchlines and metaphores incorporated in all of his songs/freestyles. Emcees usually stick to a formula that best works with their style, regardless of the message they try to convey, so you could really make the same argument for any of them.
@BigMurph106 and yet your still responding so i ibviously mad you mad hahahaha and this aint elementery chool nigger where not playing who gets the last word... lmao see how i flipped that on you
@BigMurph106 noppe once again its youtube not a collage essay and unlike you i have friends and a life... i dont perfect my speeling on youtube cus i dont give a shit what you think i just like making you mad lmao
@StreamerVideo he's a braggadocio MC like Kool Moe Dee, Big Daddy Kane, Rakim he's not one dimensional he's a talented well-rounded MC his second album proves that with tracks like Ebonics
@RAthaPunisher dude, he raps about the same thing in every song
brags about gettin girls, money, killing, etc.
he's the most one dimensional horror core artist ever I mean so many of his songs are horror core it's not even funny I can't believe y'all kids over rate him so much.. and Ebonics is simply an example of a non-horror core song
@StreamerVideo: I don't think Big L is over-rated. His brings lyrical murder through his multi-syllable rhymes, freestyles, and (like you said) horror-core content. Plus you gotta remember that he's the king of punchlines. In fact hip hop would be in a better position if there were more artists like Big L. There are probably less than 10 famous rappers that have the same skill or better than him on the mic (2Pac, Eminem, Tech N9ne, Biggie Smalls, Nas, etc...)
@PurpleGreen420 dude he doesn't have that great multis, they rhyme but that's about it, he just tops it all off with a creative punchline.. I consider this good multis
Menacin' methods label me a lethal weapon
Making niggas die witnessin' breathless imperfections
Can you picture my specific plan
To be the man in this wicked land, underhanded hits are planned
Scams are plotted over grams and rocks
Undercover agents die by the random shots
NOT
simple words that rhyme like: cutie, buddie, pussy, duty
@StreamerVideo whatever Immortal Tech is one dimensional, Big L may have been but horror core was his style he was born to rip mics and does it better then Big, Tupac and others his skills are undeniable he was the epitome of a battle rapper
@RAthaPunisher LOL explain to me how immortal technique is one dimensional? He may rap about one thing but he still has a different subject in each song.. as for L he raps about being gangster, and the same content in every song.. guns, money, hoes.. and anyone can do horror core rhymes not that hard:
on the block and i popped a glock to ya notch with the trigga locked
the only thing that stands out with big L is his punchlines
I'll admit L is a good story teller when he made story telling songs
@StreamerVideo Immortal Technique is one dimensional because he isn't versatile, most of his shit is anarchist he is a teacher bot not a musician, Big L adds a swagger of flavor to his rhymes, he has styles and makes music u can bump your head too (M.V.P., Put It On, Flamboyant) I think that is something a well-rounded MC should have Tech succeeds as a teacher but not a musician which is why he ain't in my list
@RAthaPunisher nd the same argument for why you're saying immortal technique is one dimensional pretty much could be used for Big L too just saying
Big L isn't versatile he brags about gangster life
immortal technique changes subjects each song
he'll talk about the gov
to the drug trade
to a love story
etc.
but then again L does that too when u explore his music more except the gov part.. I guess you can say L has better flowing skills but IT has more enlightening content to his rhymes
@StreamerVideo Yeah but in my opinion L is the better MC definitely more well-rounded MC, though IT is great and deserves more rec though u would only want to here him for some rebel deep music, L on the other hand had banging, raw, hardcore, deep (Street Struck), fun to listen music
@RAthaPunisher well rounded? maybe in flowing skills but def not when it comes to content or songs.. but I'd usually rather listen to big l then immortal tech cuz IT is too depressing lol
@StreamerVideo I know but compared to IT, L is definitely more well-rounded I think he is well-rounded but it's all personal favorites, L can hang with the greats as much or more then IT can, but I respect your opinion bro one love
@StreamerVideo Big L is much more raw and tougher, immortal technique is cool but he is expressing intellect, that doesn't make you a "good" rapper. This rap is from a street culture based art-form so I think most of us here will prefer intense blood lust, ignorance and violence as opposed to intellect. it replicates very closely what its like to be from new york. maybe your from a different cloth so your personal experiences prefer political and intellectual rap such as immortal technique.
@B9King937 not "soo" much better, L had solid flowing skills but immortal technique's rhymes have much more enlightening complex content to them.. and a few of songs like dance with the devil or you never know has much better flow.. but overall immortal technique's music is much deeper and can have better flow too
and the same argument for why you're saying immortal technique is one dimensional pretty much could be used for Big L too just saying
Big L isn't versatile he brags about gangster life
@StreamerVideo Depends what kinda people you would ask. Big L definitley had the more entertaining lyrics but immortal had the most meaningful. Now just cause someone has the most meaningful doesnt make them the best because you want something to be entertained with thats why you listen to music not for an education thats what schools and the news is meant for. Think of it like this. What movies have a bigger fan base horrors(big l) or documentarys(immortal) Its all in the entertainment
@StreamerVideo Continued: immortal is one dimensional. Big L has gangsta, horror, funny lyrics. Immortal has political lyrics thats it. Now it dont matter who is one dimensional or not i just threw that in there because you said big l is one dimensional.
@BigMurph106 you know what I mean? like when ever big l would talk about killing mc's he's clearly talking about beating people in rap battles and comparing it to death/downfall and he can relate it by saying it's the death or downfall of their career
@TheGodfather411
Big pun died from his own fault so he actually could be alive now

@joemak13 L sucks kinda he's so overrated.. just look @ the lyrics too horror core anyone can do that. wth is he talkin about fuxin girls big L is so new school fux the new school it's all about bragging.. just becaue Big L is a good rapper that doesn't make him a good lyricist anyone can think of something like "suppoed to hoes to" there now I've justified to you why L is overrated.. so screw him and screw hi fans.. screw the new school!!!
StreamerVideo 2 weeks ago
@StreamerVideo youre fucking stupid. L is from the 90s. He's not new school and he's not overrated. Barely anybody even knows who he was and who he has influenced. Without L there is no Fat Joe, Jay Z, Rocafella or Bad Boy Records. I'm not saying those are good things, but L was a good thing for rap. "and then i break a motherfucker like a plastic spoon" "L being a virgin thats idiotic, if Big L got the AIDS then every cutie in the city got it" those are dope lyrics. go kill yourself. deaf prick
joemak13 2 weeks ago
@joemak13 technically he is new school.. when you guys complain about new school you complain about what they rap about such as "screw new school all they rap about is drugs money those little fake gangsters" then you guys will go and listen to some Big L.. btw fun fact..
Jay-Z was one of the main people who helped to get big L noticed
Big L is in very few terror squad tracks and Big Pun was one of the main guys who helped get terror squad popular NOT Big L
StreamerVideo 2 weeks ago
@StreamerVideo L is not technically new school. L started in 1993. So I geuss MC Hammer is new school? Is Biggie new school? What about Jeru Tha Damaja?? Yeah. Shut the fuck up. Jay-Z got noticed BECAUSE L put him on some of his freestyles. and even then, Jay got waaaay outclassed on the mic. L had too rap twice as many verses to make up for jay. and nobodys saying Big L was first. but I think he's one of the best. i think he's better than Big Pun.
joemak13 2 weeks ago
@joemak13 you're missing the point, new school and old school is not determined by rappers.. New School is a rap style.. Big L is new school he's just like the best new school rapper but he's still more of a new school type rapper because look @ the things he raps about bragging about hoes money clothes that's what I'm saying why do you find this so hard to comprehend?
StreamerVideo 2 weeks ago
@StreamerVideo because every rapper brags. it has nothing to do with schools. new school rappers have bad metaphors, bad simile and make up words like idiots. L was a wordplay master and nothing about him was flashy or new school. Listen to Ebonics and tell me that's new school
joemak13 2 weeks ago
@joemak13 he's overrated by his fans though. and seriously though he rhymed: idiotic cutie in the city, and got it
not very complex lyricism there creative? yes complex? no
StreamerVideo 2 weeks ago
@StreamerVideo it's not complex but it's better than that whack beat filled auto-tuned out shit today. Big L kept it real, he spoke the truth and he kept the message of prosperity from nothing alive. If you want complex go read some Robert Frost or Henry David Thoreau. But i'm pretty happy blasting L, burning some, and drinking a beer. Nothing to complex about me and nothing to complex about my music. Most rappers can rhyme but not make sense. L rhymed and made sense every line.
joemak13 2 weeks ago
@StreamerVideo also his freestyle were fucking incredible. he would just walk up to a mic and spit fire. Jay Z, Nas, and ASAP Rocky all steal L's lyrics 12 years after his death. He should be considered top 3 right up there with B.I.G and Pac
joemak13 2 weeks ago
@joemak13 his freestyles were prewritten dude.. yes the guy was clever just saying he wasn't that great of a lyricist though
StreamerVideo 2 weeks ago
@StreamerVideo his freestyles were not pre-written dumbass. he just had the first line memorized so he wouldnt sound like a dumbass throughout the whole freestyle.
joemak13 2 weeks ago
@joemak13 yes his freestyles were prewritten dude, that just shows me how little you know about what ur talkin about kid.. they were prewritten and memorized get ur facts straight
StreamerVideo 2 weeks ago
@joemak13 and I consider Big Pun > Big L hands down if you deny you simply don't know enough about Pun or haven't heard one song by him
StreamerVideo 2 weeks ago
@StreamerVideo I've heard of Pun, a lot actually. I just prefer L's flow over Pun's, I like Pun. I just don't like his flow, I think it's to slow and played out. But Pun's a legend. I just think L is the best rapper. You can't change my opinion. And new school doesn't only include subject matter, but music video content, associated acts, and when they started. Every rapper raps about money and drugs. Is Grandmaster Flash's The Message new school too because he says he has gold on?
joemak13 2 weeks ago
@joemak13 LOL LOL LOL, quit lying u aint ever listened to Big Pun.. if you have you would openly admit that Big Pun def had faster flow and more multis then Big L in like every song.. New School has vid content but i'm talkin about the new school rap style obv
brave in the heart, playin a part, amazingly smart Razor sharp, futuristic raps, state of the art Takin New York cats past the stars
StreamerVideo 2 weeks ago
@StreamerVideo Most rappers in the early 90's were about shoot em up, ho's, money and cars, murder murder murder, even Pun was like this. Did he have some songs that were not about that? Sure, but so did L. The difference is most new school rappers cannot flow or ryhme like L and Pun, because they're terrible. And the ones that can, regardless of their content, do not get any air play. Also, if you're going to pick out Pun bars, at least pick out his more complicated ones ffs.

RealNillaz 2 weeks ago
@RealNillaz nope dude, anyone could talk shit and keep a crazy flow, that's why artist who are able to diversify are more respected then artist who talk about guns n violence etc. it's not that hard to make a gangster rhyme watch: popped a glock to his notch on a block.. That's a multi right there see it?
and by your comment you just admitted Big L is a one dimensional rapper =]
And there are good rap songs that can talk about stuff without bragging about straight horror-core styles
StreamerVideo 2 weeks ago
@StreamerVideo popped a glock to his notch on a block.. That's a multi right there see it? hahahah dude stop, just because you can make a multi doesn't mean it's actually good. L did it at an advanced level and always came at it from a unique way. Big L wasn't a one dimensional rapper but MOST of his rhymes were about hardcore shit, that was him and that was his sound, ALL musicians have that. You listen to a certain artist for a specific theme or sound--
RealNillaz 2 weeks ago
@StreamerVideo --like how some people listen to Immortal Technique for conscious music or Redman if you wanna laugh. No rapper covers all themes and they shouldn't because it wouldn't fit their image and they probably wouldn't be able to excel all of them. You say you hate "new school" because they do that but almost every pioneer and old school rapper did that too. Remember Big Daddy Kane? Ultramagnetic? They all did that too. But ofc. it's only bad when "new school" rappers do it. :eyeroll:
RealNillaz 2 weeks ago
@RealNillaz well Tupac, Big Pun, Biggie, Rakim, Kool G, NAS (distracted by L's music so can't name too many more atm) anyways there are plenty of rapper who rap about peace and dark themes including Big L but L is usually straight gangster rap.. and old school rappers didn't do that.. there is a difference between talking about your good life and bragging about your good life.. and yes it is bad when new school rappers do it..
StreamerVideo 2 weeks ago
@StreamerVideo Pun, Biggie, Tupac, and Nas have all done gangster rap. Tupac was the most inconsistent out of them all because one song would be about murdering all his enemies, then the next would be about saving his race. L did a mix of horrorcore, gangster, and conscious. But most of the all the rappers you listed, specially earlier in their careers, had pretty violent lyircs. Even Kool G and Rakim who are considered the pioneers of Hip Hop told stories in their songs that were pretty gory.
BigMurph106 2 weeks ago
@BigMurph106 L didn't really do conscious, and there is a difference between talkin about straight killin in a psycho horror core way, and talking about killing MC rivals wit ur rhymes or killing mc rivals cuz of a beef.. but then again Big L sometimes refers to killing mcs and NOT just straight killing so ye
StreamerVideo 2 weeks ago
@StreamerVideo L actually had some conscious songs, "street struck" being one example. It's just his hardcore style did not really allow him to be like Common or Rakim. If L had a chance to make more songs he'd probably have a better catalogue as far as the message of his songs go. But I know what you mean, "Hardpack Freestyle" is a great example to what you're talking about.
BigMurph106 2 weeks ago
@BigMurph106 honestly the only two conscious songs that I can name off the top of my head are Street Struck and How will I ever make it
can you name anymore then 2 fucking songs?!
although I do agree that if he lived longer he may have made a few more songs with better messages
StreamerVideo 2 weeks ago
@StreamerVideo "I don't understand it", although not conscious in the general sense, does shed some light on what every rapper was thinking back in the 90's regarding the rap game. I was just saying Big L was capable of conscious songs, but yeah, not a whole lot of them. But to be fair, we are talking about a guy who almost had more freestyles than recorded songs.
BigMurph106 2 weeks ago
@BigMurph106 ye but L has very few of those type of tracks too.. L is the most one dimensional horror core rapper who had the easiest stuff to rap about allowing him to create rhymes and get overrated by his fans.. He was super creative when he tried to be but this was only when he was rapping or bragging about himself or his rap skills
StreamerVideo 2 weeks ago
@StreamerVideo You're entitled to your opinion and everything, I just don't agree with you. A subgenre does not define an MC or automatically make them one dimensional. L had complicated multies, rhyme scheme, alliteration, wordplay, clever punchlines and metaphores incorporated in all of his songs/freestyles. Emcees usually stick to a formula that best works with their style, regardless of the message they try to convey, so you could really make the same argument for any of them.

@StreamerVideo he's a braggadocio MC like Kool Moe Dee, Big Daddy Kane, Rakim he's not one dimensional he's a talented well-rounded MC his second album proves that with tracks like Ebonics
RAthaPunisher 1 week ago
@RAthaPunisher dude, he raps about the same thing in every song
brags about gettin girls, money, killing, etc.
he's the most one dimensional horror core artist ever I mean so many of his songs are horror core it's not even funny I can't believe y'all kids over rate him so much.. and Ebonics is simply an example of a non-horror core song
StreamerVideo 1 week ago
@StreamerVideo: I don't think Big L is over-rated. His brings lyrical murder through his multi-syllable rhymes, freestyles, and (like you said) horror-core content. Plus you gotta remember that he's the king of punchlines. In fact hip hop would be in a better position if there were more artists like Big L. There are probably less than 10 famous rappers that have the same skill or better than him on the mic (2Pac, Eminem, Tech N9ne, Biggie Smalls, Nas, etc...)

@StreamerVideo whatever Immortal Tech is one dimensional, Big L may have been but horror core was his style he was born to rip mics and does it better then Big, Tupac and others his skills are undeniable he was the epitome of a battle rapper
RAthaPunisher 1 week ago
@RAthaPunisher LOL explain to me how immortal technique is one dimensional? He may rap about one thing but he still has a different subject in each song.. as for L he raps about being gangster, and the same content in every song.. guns, money, hoes.. and anyone can do horror core rhymes not that hard:
on the block and i popped a glock to ya notch with the trigga locked
the only thing that stands out with big L is his punchlines
I'll admit L is a good story teller when he made story telling songs
StreamerVideo 1 week ago
@StreamerVideo Immortal Technique is one dimensional because he isn't versatile, most of his shit is anarchist he is a teacher bot not a musician, Big L adds a swagger of flavor to his rhymes, he has styles and makes music u can bump your head too (M.V.P., Put It On, Flamboyant) I think that is something a well-rounded MC should have Tech succeeds as a teacher but not a musician which is why he ain't in my list
RAthaPunisher 1 week ago
@RAthaPunisher nd the same argument for why you're saying immortal technique is one dimensional pretty much could be used for Big L too just saying
Big L isn't versatile he brags about gangster life
immortal technique changes subjects each song
he'll talk about the gov
to the drug trade
to a love story
etc.
but then again L does that too when u explore his music more except the gov part.. I guess you can say L has better flowing skills but IT has more enlightening content to his rhymes
StreamerVideo 1 week ago
@StreamerVideo Yeah but in my opinion L is the better MC definitely more well-rounded MC, though IT is great and deserves more rec though u would only want to here him for some rebel deep music, L on the other hand had banging, raw, hardcore, deep (Street Struck), fun to listen music
RAthaPunisher 1 week ago
@RAthaPunisher well rounded? maybe in flowing skills but def not when it comes to content or songs.. but I'd usually rather listen to big l then immortal tech cuz IT is too depressing lol
StreamerVideo 1 week ago
@StreamerVideo I know but compared to IT, L is definitely more well-rounded I think he is well-rounded but it's all personal favorites, L can hang with the greats as much or more then IT can, but I respect your opinion bro one love
RAthaPunisher 1 week ago
@StreamerVideo Big L is much more raw and tougher, immortal technique is cool but he is expressing intellect, that doesn't make you a "good" rapper. This rap is from a street culture based art-form so I think most of us here will prefer intense blood lust, ignorance and violence as opposed to intellect. it replicates very closely what its like to be from new york. maybe your from a different cloth so your personal experiences prefer political and intellectual rap such as immortal technique.
Snowboi776 1 week ago
@StreamerVideo Big L is soo much better than immortal that cant even be argued.
B9King937 1 week ago
@B9King937 not "soo" much better, L had solid flowing skills but immortal technique's rhymes have much more enlightening complex content to them.. and a few of songs like dance with the devil or you never know has much better flow.. but overall immortal technique's music is much deeper and can have better flow too
and the same argument for why you're saying immortal technique is one dimensional pretty much could be used for Big L too just saying
Big L isn't versatile he brags about gangster life
StreamerVideo 1 week ago
@StreamerVideo Depends what kinda people you would ask. Big L definitley had the more entertaining lyrics but immortal had the most meaningful. Now just cause someone has the most meaningful doesnt make them the best because you want something to be entertained with thats why you listen to music not for an education thats what schools and the news is meant for. Think of it like this. What movies have a bigger fan base horrors(big l) or documentarys(immortal) Its all in the entertainment
B9King937 1 week ago
@B9King937 amen
