jcriedijk, with sadness i must tell you that Polarlys no longer is active in the US either-actually the ship is no more at all. Not long ago she was broken up in Panama, far from home.....i saw pictures from that not long ago. A very-VERY sad sight. This clip shows he old lady as she should be remembered-in beautifull shape steadilly and faithfully steaming along the coast.

I was on board in Rotterdam when she was on her outward voyage from Norway to the USA as Caribbean Mercy. That was end May 1994. Hurtigruten or Norway should buy her back. Museumship for the town Bergen?
