remember paul williams is hard to predict. he has trouble with slick southpaws... well, then why did he dominate wright... the best southpaw he fought. one mintue he's a devastating puncher, the next, he can;t hrut his opponent. he's a question mark. that's why it's fun to watch him. and i'd pick pavlik, but wouldn't be surprised by anything.

If he fights Pavlik you will see what a devastating puncher is. If Martinez knocks him down and hurts Williams, then Pavilk's going to knock him senseless. He is just tall, long armed and throws a lot of punches. He is not a beast, just difficult to fight. Pavlik is tall, has long arms, also has REAL KNOCKOUT POWER, and good defense. Hopkins out boxed Pavlik, but Williams is no where near a boxer that Hopkins is. So dont try to say he will out box him.

I cant believe ppl actually think Paul Williams can beat PBF. Just watching this clip alone lets me know he wouldn't be able to.
Williams was being tagged by this Carlos bum (The Smaller Guy).
PBF would work this guy in the ring. Williams doesn't have great ring work and hes not a pressure guy.
Paq is a different story. The styles would make it a great fight. Because PBF will be forced to fight with the constant pressure from Paq, whose just as fast, and punches from all different angles.

Don't ever just watch one clip alone and judge any boxer. STYLES MAKES FIGHTS. Watch at least 10 and examine the fighter vs. different types of fighters. e.g. Slick boxers, counter punchers, boxers with high punch output, effective jab, power punchers, etc.. Just a thought.

At 47lbs there is no way that on planet earth Paul Williams will beat Mayweather, it has been proven that anybody with mobility and an ability to come at Paul Williams at angles and not straight forward like Winky did (taking nothing away from him, great fighter in his own right) can beat him, he is very easy to hit and his size advantage and decent offence is the only reason he is feared in my view, watch the Mayweather-Corrales fight that is how this fight would go, simply too skillful.

PW can take hard shots along with giving them and keep coming forward. That is what makes PW fights exciting to watch. He will keep getting better. He has an awkward style b/c he is so lanky, but he can whip some ass. Don't know why he doesn't sit back and use that reach all night instead of getting in close with the smaller man. pauls speed is only effective when he can reach the body, his knock out power is non existent, a fighter like pavlik would destroy him, and he def didn't deserve a 50 50 split on the match he was goign to fight with pavlik, and i don't blame pavlik for saying fuck you to all you people who wanted to see this fight at the expense of pavliks hard earned belt. Williams-Pavlik is going to be a good one. I would love too see Pavlik knock Williams out but Pavlik's hand speed isn't exactly world class and Williams is going to see everything coming. He's gonna slip, pick, and counter all night. However Williams doesn't have the knockout power and since this fight will most likely go 12 Pavlik still has a puncher's chance cause Pavlik can punch. And if you saw Williams-Mitchell fight Williams' chin is a bit suspect.

man, really great thing about this winn for quintana is that he was beating williams since round 1, it wasent like quintana started to pick up the fight in the mid late rounds or he got one lucky shot on williams, no, he beat williams this entire fight.

Maybe Williams was off that night, but you certainly have to give Quintana credit for this skillful performance, as Williams is still damn good even when slightly off. Quintana exposed Joel Julio as well. williams was smart to go after quintana in the rematch, because the danger with quintana is he gets into a rhythm, and williams didnt allow him time to do so in the rematch.

I'm a huge Pavlik fan... I'm from Cleveland, Ohio. I keep reading that Pavlik has no chance against Paul Williams. It seems to me that Williams hasn't fought anyone of Pavlik's caliber yet. I guess what scares me about Williams is that he's more seasoned in late round fights, he works the body a hell of a lot more than Pavlik, he has equal punching power, and of course he's a southpaw. Anyone else care to give their reasonable opinion?
