Can anyone tell me when Alexander and Maya started skating together? I recently heard that he actually skated with Oksana Grishuk before he started skating with Maya and got together with her and obviously then the affair with Oksana happened and ultimately they skated together again for a time. It seems like a fantastic story but in figure skating, I shouldn't be surprised! If anyone can tell me if any of that story is true, I'd appreciate it!
Maya and Sasha started skating together in 1983, when Pasha was only 11 years old. Then Pasha and Sasha had the affair circa 1991-1992 and skated together after the '98 Olympics. Around 1993, Sasha started another affair with 2nd wife, Tatiana Navka, while he was still married to Maya. He married Tatiana in 2000 when he found out she was pregnant with their daughter. Navka and Zhulin are getting divorced, amid allegations that she had an affair with her Stars on Ice partner. Whew!!!
Wow. I was truly surprised. I never thought they were that good. It seems as though the cheating and the interruption of their marriage really took a toll on there skating by the 94 games. Had they been this prepared maybe they would have won instead of finishing 3rd. Considering the judges had already shut out TD from the gold.
Actually, they finished 2nd at the '94 games by a 5-4 split. They were 3rd in 1992. But, it is undeniable that the turmoil in their marriage took a toll on their skating as the years passed, and it is such a shame because they were truly unique and passionate in their presentation. This was their best program and one of my favorites all time in ice dancing.

I take it back. They said at 1993 worlds that that was the 12th skating year together, so they must have started in '81.
