I hope combat is more involved in CK2. In CK1 all you had to do was have a bigger blob than the enemy. Martial technology and troop composition had little influence.

I don't understand why Paradox changes their maps with every new game, I mean, it's pretty clear that Balkans is a mysterious place from 600 - 1200 AD but it's widely known that the valley of river Bosna together with the northern part of today's Bosnia was called "Bosnia" even in the 10th century. Can't understand why Europa Universalis features more countries than CK, but I guess that they didn't care about Eastern Europe so much,

Actually, they could release it right now. It's done. Or at least, it's feature complete. Paradox decided, this time, to set aside a long period to polish the game. I love their games, but they have a reputation. It's said that one should always wait, at the very least, until one or two patches before buying their games. These are complicated games w/ lots of bits that can go wrong, you see, and they often did in the past.

They want to change this perception. I can get behind that.

@thebigJ1er what sounds like a weakness is actually their greatest strength. no other company is as close to its fanbase, they soak up feedback like a sponge. they are game fanatics if presented with a good idea they make another patch or expansion even if the developement cycle for that game is over. EU3 had 2 expansions and was considered closed. then they made another one and after that another one. they cant help themselves, they love games too much. their games get better & better for years

I have been a fan of Paradox titles since the first EU, though i just don't understand why they cannot increase the map's graphical quality. The interface, on the contrary, evolved and, in my eyes, became more appealing with time. The map does not.

Not a huge fan of the almost straight top down view you started using with EU3:DW. Kinda miss the ~45 degree view, personally, though it still looks good.
