Am I the only one who thinks anyone would freak out at the possibility of having to move in another state, at 19 and with someone you've been with for barely a month? I don't get how Ron would think Edwin would wanna get along with it, never mind that he obviously is still very much involved with Lucas
I hate to be asking the same questions as what Ron are asking, they are valid. I have been in this kind of relationship. I would rather be alone than be miserable in ALWAYS having doubts about the emotions of an undecided, flipflopping boyfriend. Peace of mind rests not on having someone that would always leave you asking a question in your head.

@Maatjuhhh Nee, want het gaat echt om de aflevering zelf. Als die te vroeg geüpload wordt, wordt ie door een technisch probleem automatisch geblokkeerd. En ik kan ook maar maximaal 15 minuten per video uploaden.
En ik wil de afleveringen gewoon apart uploaden. Kun je niet met ondertiteling via teletekst kijken?

@Maatjuhhh I think you should show your gratefulness to Mark for putting so many hours of work every week into editing and translating this SL intp English instead of complaining that the upload is slow! He's not getting paid to do this, and I'm sure Mark has other things he has to do as well, such as work/study, sleep, eat, you know, like the rest of us who enjoy the fruits of his labour for free!!
My first posting... First, my undying thanks to Mark and all of his efforts to keep us up to date with our favorite couple. You have given me both a new obsession and many late nights getting caught up with Edwin and Lucas. While I, too, am waiting for Edwin and Lucas to get everything sorted out and get back together, I can't help feeling badly for Ron. Ron is a decent and loving man who deserves love of his own. Might Ron represent the kind of man that Edwin with grow to be? I hope so!
@miserygame Not true. In recent interviews Ferry said he would like to stay on the show for a while. Of course you never know what happens in the future, but Ferry is still filming.

Thanks Mark for clearing up the age thing. I thought that Edwin was between 17 and 19. Apparently hes 21? So he's older than Lucas who's 20. So how old is Sjoerd, if Rikki is 16. Trying to get this all straight. Okay if he's 21 and Ron is 25, then it's not so icky.
@suemorr1970jamaica I never said he was 21. Lucas is 21. Edwin's age has not been mentioned on the show, but my guess is he's 19 (or at least almost 19).
Lucas should be with someone else and just like edwin, and edwin jealous and beg Lucas to comeback to him...It's not fair that Edwin can sleep with Ron and Lucas has nobody.....Well, ntil they really get back together, I think Lucas should have an extra goodlooking man next to him for the time being.....he..he..

It's funny when there is no Ron, people said Lucas n Edwin are meant for each other. Then when Ron appear people are divided into groups supporting Ron + Ed and Lucas + Ed.
@muiten I would never have thought that I'd be so supportive of LudWin. I think that I see Edwin differently now. Yes he's more serious than Lucas, but they seem to have more in common than do Ron and Edwin. Edwin is about having a good time now so that's Lucas. In a few years, if this virus doesn't kill him, then he and ron might be a good match.
ANNNND thats why I stopped dating the young ones! The whole "left brain/right brain tussle, I want a committed relationship BUT I also want to party" thinking. I come from a family of doctors and trust me, being a partner spouse to one is not easy. Until Ron gets some seniority at his new job his life will not be his own. Edwin is right, what would he do while Ron is working all those shifts? Stuck in the suburbs with no job? Not good at all.
@sealforvr I hear you! LOL. If Edwin ends up in London, he's going to end up with some other fellow as you say while Ron is working. He's still a kid and exploring his own feelings and sexuality. At this pointin his life, Lucas is a good fit. Edwin is a serious person and later on, a Ron type will be good for him.
Maybe this is just my American bias, but what parent would want their 19 yo son, who has NOT yet passed his exams, to move to London with a 28 guy he just started dating? Even if said guy is going to be a Dr?!? I like the dovetailing story lines where both Beuhuis (sp?) boys really want to stay home and their partners are ready get out of Dodge!
@suzka99 Well I think that Ron is only 25. And I'm biased. While I wouldn't be thrilled aobut my daughter going off on this jaunt, I'd be less concerned about my son. Yeah, I know ... double standard. I moved here when I was 19 to come to school so the experience of moving to a foreign country is often a great thing. Well, maybe not trailing after a romantic interest, but it's a huge growing opportunity to live and mature in a new place on your own.
@SuperHoneyJet Life is a serious business and most interns have no personal life until they are done with those numerous 48 hour shifts, not conducive to building a relationship. So yes he is mature and kind, but not so sensible to get involved with a 19 year old who still doesn't really know who he is or what he wants.

@GTSTfanMark Well, I suppose there must be a rather large cultural difference. Most American parents don't want their adolescent children having sex with their latest fling in the their house. Also most American kid Edwins age don't want their parents to know everytime they are having sex or have their parent hear them having sex in the bedroom down the hallway, so forgive me if I think their behavior is odd/disrespectful.
@luckyduck152 You are right: it is a matter of culture. They are not American and therefore have no obligation to behave as if they were. If they behave that way it is because it is not disrepectful in their culture...let's try and be accepting to other people's culture, shall we?
@duducarbonar Here's the issue that I'm having. Parents are accepting of sex. Great. Is there any "safe" sex convo going on here? I see no condoms lying around or any talk of protection especially in light of it being in the parents home and Edwin is now on fellow number 2 in under a year. Just a thought.
@luckyduck152 yes there is. American parents would pop a gasket with thier kid having two separate lovers under their roof in a year. They know thier kids are having sex, US culture just has the children not flaunting it to thier parents. And kids want to explore sex partners w/o parental scrunity and nosiness.
How do medical schools work in the Netherlands? In the US, if a person finished highschool at 18 and went to university for his undergraduate degree, he would still be in medical school when he was 25... And if he still in his final year of medical school, he doesn't seem to be doing a lot of studying haha
Lucas and Edwin are fun to watch together. They are both immature and like to have fun.So something interesting always appears to be occuring with them Ron, while a nice guy, is a bit of a square. ( nothing wrong being square in and of itself ) and thus less entertaining IMO.Ron, while somewhat naive when it comes to love, appears to be more mature, certainly intellectually.
@nigotu As a parent myself, there's no playing it off. We just snoop and get all up in the business. We're too old and preoccupied with needing to know to even pretend like we are being surreptitious.

I think Ron's likely exit is coming much too soon. His character's inclusion in this soap has such potential. One reason for this is that he's sexy.
Bianca's treatment of Ron has been strange. He doesn't derserve her rather low key hostility.
There is nothing presented here that shows that Edwin and Lucas are a preferable coupling. The age difference isn't reallly that great, Ron has a good head on this shoulders, and he's attractive, The thing that he;s lacking is brattiness!
@designersky if only love and the way we feel were rational. Edwin is forever tied to Lucas because he's linked to his coming out and finally being comfortable with his sexualtiy. He's his first love, first gay sex. That is a powerful aphrodisiac that Ron can't compete with.
About Bianca's hostility...if you watch the episodes right after Lucas broke up with Edwin, Bianca is quite welcoming to Ron. It's only after Edwin jumped head first into bed with Ron, so suddenly, that her attitude changed. I think she feels that the relationship is wrong, because Edwin was using it as a means to avoid his grief over losing Lucas.
Just rewatched the video and I want just add to my previous comment my heart simply stops every time Lucas smiles/laughs. Edwin what are you still waiting for? go to take your man back NOW! Ludwin forever!
Obviously Edwin is avoiding telling Ron the truth & will break his heart all the harder. Edwin is not intentionally cruel; he's just IMMATURE—cowardly, dishonest & self-centered.
Ron will go to London & get over it. What bothers me is how so many GTST fans have blamed Ron from start to finish. Edron kissed only after Edwin gave up on Lucas. Ron never pushed, and he didn't time the London opportunity. It just happened. Ludwin is a better match than Edron. So why blame poor Ron? He's the victim.

Again I reiterate that Lucas and Edwin are not over each other. This thing with Ron is just a fling and will serve to remind Edwin of what he had with Lucas and Lucas will be reminded of what he had with Edwin. All of this will bring them back together in the end.
I guess people in the Netherlands are different than North America. I don't understand how parents would want their children to have sex in their house? I find that VERY unacceptable behaviour. If Ron and Edwin want to have sex they need to go to a motel or hotel. It is just bad manners to have sex in your parents house.
@JordanjamesX Same in Brasil, it's kinda shocking, but then if it's about their culture and although it sounds really weird to us, I respect the fact that they're much more open-minded in this aspect. Just think Anton's character changed too quickly. After what he did to Ed and Lucas, even sending Lucas to hospital, bit of not natural. She was 17.
@corvus13 Oh my gosh, I remember that. I was 20 and went to Ohio to visit my boyfriend and my mom about had a fit. LOL. Cultures really are different. I wonder if those teens are more mature than US teens and so better able to handle the whole adult/sex thing?
@JordanjamesX They are different allright, much lower rates of teenage pregnancy for example. Kids are quite open about sex with their parents because parents are open to them and it itsn't a taboo. Also, the philosophy is often they'd rather have it happen under their own roof where they can expect the kids are being respectful to eachother and are doing it safely. It definitely has its advantages and certainly isn't considered unrespectful.
@JordanjamesX You know I do know some parents who'd rather thier kids have safe protected sex in their home than try to "hook up" somewhere. So while the pervasive culture is not feeling this behavior, there are some famillies where they do allow this; expecially if the kids are in college and already shagging there.
Allright, I ADORE Edwin, his cute little smile, those brown puppy eyes, is guitar - everything! But I really hate that he's lying to Ron. If it weren't for him getting between my boys, I'd like Ron. He's a sweet and sensitive person and he is honest with and serious about Edwin. He just doesn't deserve this. So Ed, come on, show us the balls we all know you have and tell the truth! Part of the reason why lucas and ed broke besides cheating,was that ed had unresolved feelings for ron and it was obvious to lucas.so ed needed to get that out of the way and now i suppose he's realising that he still loves lucas.ron's not a bad guy but the relationship is going a bit fast,and it can be confusing for a 19yr old.

@millacross I myself thinks it's somewhat disrespectful to be making these type of comments in front of anyone's parents regardless of how old either person is ,but this is a Dutch soap & the Dutch are much more liberal & open about things(although there are most likely a few Dutch parents that wouldn't appreciate those type of remarks being said in front of them) . While Ron maybe a nice guy in my opinion he's to old for Edwin . I'm hoping Lucas & Edwin get back together soon !
It's certainly not tasteful to casually suggest and make plans about having sex with a couple's adolescent son, in front of them and in their home like that. And it's inconsistent with the class a character like Ron would supposedly possess.
I think it would have come off better if in the scene Ron had been speaking to Ed in the hall, or otherwise semi-privately, but Bianca and Anton still overheard somehow to play into their nosy roles.

I mean, do we need commentators, I don't understand what Anton has against Lucas, it's not like he is not working, he owns a club. maybe he doesn't get along with him but I don't see why, after what he did he should be indebt! maybe it's just me but Ron,he seems like a doormat, I'm not saying hes not a good bf but he comes of gullible, everybody has an opinion and he doesn't but i think i blame the writers.

First off, Ron asked some very pertinent questions. Next, I just saw how players are made. Edwin did not set out to be one but, his slow water is running very deep.
There is no chemistry between Ron and Edwin, the way they sit at the table in the kitchen....so cold...so 'no love in the air'. I hope Ed soon realises it's not working with Ron. It's almost annoying to watch these two, this should not last too long....

@kendon0923 I don't think it's a Dutch thing and I don't think it's a bad writing thing either. Some parents have a problem with age differences, but a lot of parents don't. Edwin is an adult and six years is not that much.
@GTSTfanMark I know as i'm around 7 years younger than my boyfriend but my parents aren't involved. But when referring to teenagers the perception of the age difference just seems magnified.
@kendon0923 Ron & Lucas are about the same age. Based on the numbers, we should put them together. Or based on the numbers, Ron should be with some man (not Lucas or Edwin), Lucas with some other man (not Ron or Edwin), and Edwin with some boy (obviously not Ron or Lucas). Based on the numbers.
Ed's relationship with Ron is just confusing him all the more, and it's painful to watch. He settled with him out of some vague feelings, and out of spite because Lucas dumped him, but got more than he bargained for. He should have realized it would have been healthier for him to be alone for a awhile since the breakup. Its carefree/uncomplicated, and would've MADE him THINK, whether he wanted to or not.
And now he's lying to Ron about Lucas like how he lied to Lucas about Ron!

@alwaysuseless hard to see the truth when Edwin is lieing and acting in front of him as if he was over Lucas. The flip side to 'seeing the truth' would be to completely disregard what Edwin is saying and just go with his gut, which a) you cant build anything from not trusting your partner and b) the gut might be wrong.
Has Edwin ever said "I love you" to Ron? I'm just wondering if I missed it or not.
Edwin is just learning that you can enjoy the presence and company of someone without it having to mean anything deeper than that. His confusion is slowly being resolved. I don't really mind who the endgame couple are.
@elsie2088 Edwin is pretty much the densest person ever though. I don't think he's really learning at all in fact, because he hasn't stated or in any way proven your claim. You can have a fun-buddy, but only if they want the same thing. Now all he's doing is lying to Ron, wants a relationship but only with Lucas - who he's in love with, and wants to be a teenager.
@Iclabon72 I agree he IS lying to Ron but that's what I believe is the beginning of the resolution of the confusion in his head. He hasn't yet had an epiphany but I think we are pretty much close to it now. Maybe like Lucas, Ron will force the truth out of him with constant, direct questioning and maybe he'll redeem his image in our eyes by coming clean sooner than he did with Lucas.All I can do is hope at this point.
What I love about this storyine is; all three of the guys are nice and sweet, not one of them is a jerk(so far)...its much harder to write when the "evil" element is, "timing"...cudos to the writers.

Lucas is the innocent one here, he had to break up with edwin when he found out that edwin cheated, what else did edwin expect? I think lucas deserves another boyfriend, ron deserves that also, and edwin need to be alone. Maybe lucas and ron can deal with problem edwin together cause they are both victims ;)

@GTSTfanMark Mark, is it common place for kids to be so independent in the Netherlands? Plus the rich sanders kids frequent regular clubs like DeKonig. Is that common place as well? I ask cause here some of the rich kids kinda frequent their own joints, like country clubs.
@ahnobi Yes, I think it's common. But the Sanders are good friends with Jef, the owner of De Koning. So just because of that it would make sense for them to come there. :)
@GTSTfanMark That may be true, but there's still quite a difference between someone who's 25 and someone who's 19. Ron already has a profession, and Edwin hasn't left home yet. The gap between 30 and 40 is a lot less in terms of life experience than the gap between 19 and 25. I'm not saying that Ron and Edwin aren't good for one another. But I also know that at 19 I wasn't ready for a 25 year-old.
@affableIrregular That's personal for everyone. Some people at 19 are ready for a 25 year old. I don't think age is the problem here. It's that Edwin is still in love with Lucas.
@GTSTfanMark Age is one issue, another is that Edwin may be in love with both Lucas and Ron. I don't have a problem with that. I don't think men are necessarily made to be monogamous. Some may be, most probably aren't.
@kendon0923 Why? Seems to me we put way too much of a burden on others if our expecation is that "this relationship has to work forever." Too much unhappiness comes from that. A relationship can still be beautiful even if it's not forever.

It seems that we go through this age question on every episode. Ron & Lucas are about the same age. Ron has a profession. Lucas has his own business. Edwin is a high school student. Ron has a more mature demeanor than Lucas. Temperamentally Lucas is probably a better match for Edwin. If age difference were really a problem here, then the solution would be for Edwin to find another high school student. But no one seems to want that.

I still like Ed and Ron Together. Lucas needs to go to London, or better yet, Australia. I can't help but feel that this story line is not going to end well for Ron, Edwin's going to end up breaking his heart, all over smug little Lucas.
While I like Ron and Edwin, because Ron isn't a bad guy for him to be with; Ron is just not the right guy right now. Its clear that this won't last long though, I think the writers are screaming that now. On a side note, what is with Edwin's parents being so nosy?!? I mean I've heard of being involved in your child's life, but damn, they were even commentating on it. Glad they are such an open family, but that just went to show how different he and Ron are.

Honestly here Edwin is lying to Ron they didn't speak really? "do you want a drink?" doesn't count apparently to Edwin, or was it that he still got a bit jealous watching Lucas on the market...failing but never the less on the market. Ron is obsessed with Edwin. He has been with him for a few weeks, not a few years. Ron is actually really weird. At first I thought he was okay, now he is just getting annoying.
@SuperUmpaLumpas I feel sorry for Ron. He's off to London. Either he invites Edwin to join him or doesn't invite him. The timing is awkward because of the brevity of their relationship, but inviting Edwin is no weirder than not inviting him. Ron is becoming insecure re Edwin's feelings. He's beginning to sense that Edwin is not being entirely clear & honest. That's not weird; that's perceptive. Love is blind, but Ron is beginning to see what Edwin is too immature to tell him.
@alwaysuseless I agree that because they are "together," Ron would inform Edwin about the position he might get in London, and for him to invite him as well. But I think it's more plot-driven for Ron to at this point be so naively invested/pushy instead of hopeful/anxious over it, and for him to still be alternately perceptive/ignorant of the Lucas issue. The writing just doesn't credit him much as the person he looks to be, which is both a shame and something I don't care about.

Ron is moving too fast and Edwin is far too young for that kind of a commitment. If Edwin and Ron dated for a few years I would agree. But for Ron to expect Edwin to move to England after dating for a few weeks is moving too fast and seems desperate.

@ludwinlunatics That's the hole in this storyline. Ron is supposed to be this mature, sensitive, perceptive, thoughtful guy—and he is—but he can't see what all the viewers can. Of course, it would be painful for him to see what we see at this point. He really likes Edwin.
Am I the only one who thinks anyone would freak out at the possibility of having to move in another state, at 19 and with someone you've been with for barely a month? I hate to be asking the same questions as what Ron are asking, they are valid. I have been in this kind of relationship. I would rather be alone than be miserable in ALWAYS having doubts about the emotions of an undecided, flipflopping boyfriend. Peace of mind rests not on having someone that would always leave you asking a question in your head.

@Maatjuhhh Nee, want het gaat echt om de aflevering zelf. Als die te vroeg geüpload wordt, wordt ie door een technisch probleem automatisch geblokkeerd. En ik kan ook maar maximaal 15 minuten per video uploaden.
En ik wil de afleveringen gewoon apart uploaden. Kun je niet met ondertiteling via teletekst kijken?

You have given me both a new obsession and many late nights getting caught up with Edwin and Lucas. ANNNND thats why I stopped dating the young ones! The whole "left brain/right brain tussle, I want a committed relationship BUT I also want to party" thinking. I come from a family of doctors and trust me, being a partner spouse to one is not easy. Until Ron gets some seniority at his new job his life will not be his own. Edwin is right, what would he do while Ron is working all those shifts? Stuck in the suburbs with no job? Not good at all.

Yeah, I know ... double standard. I moved here when I was 19 to come to school so the experience of moving to a foreign country is often a great thing. Well, maybe not trailing after a romantic interest, but it's a huge growing opportunity to live and mature in a new place on your own.

I think Ron's likely exit is coming much too soon. His character's inclusion in this soap has such potential. One reason for this is that he's sexy.
Bianca's treatment of Ron has been strange. He doesn't derserve her rather low key hostility.
There is nothing presented here that shows that Edwin and Lucas are a preferable coupling. The age difference isn't reallly that great, Ron has a good head on this shoulders, and he's attractive, The thing that he;s lacking is brattiness!

About Bianca's hostility...if you watch the episodes right after Lucas broke up with Edwin, Bianca is quite welcoming to Ron. It's only after Edwin jumped head first into bed with Ron, so suddenly, that her attitude changed. I think she feels that the relationship is wrong, because Edwin was using it as a means to avoid his grief over losing Lucas.

@JordanjamesX They are different allright, much lower rates of teenage pregnancy for example. Kids are quite open about sex with their parents because parents are open to them and it itsn't a taboo. Also, the philosophy is often they'd rather have it happen under their own roof where they can expect the kids are being respectful to eachother and are doing it safely. It definitely has its advantages and certainly isn't considered unrespectful.

It's certainly not tasteful to casually suggest and make plans about having sex with a couple's adolescent son, in front of them and in their home like that. And it's inconsistent with the class a character like Ron would supposedly possess.
I think it would have come off better if in the scene Ron had been speaking to Ed in the hall, or otherwise semi-privately, but Bianca and Anton still overheard somehow to play into their nosy roles.

Ed's relationship with Ron is just confusing him all the more, and it's painful to watch. He settled with him out of some vague feelings, and out of spite because Lucas dumped him, but got more than he bargained for. He should have realized it would have been healthier for him to be alone for a awhile since the breakup. Its carefree/uncomplicated, and would've MADE him THINK, whether he wanted to or not.
And now he's lying to Ron about Lucas like how he lied to Lucas about Ron!

Here's the deal.Yes Ron is weird,there's something about him that doesn't add up.
I have a feeling Ed might go London with him and first after some time there, realizes
he's made a mistake.Lucas keeps on trying to hook up with new guys but can't go back to

The flip side to 'seeing the truth' would be to completely disregard what Edwin is saying and just go with his gut, which a) you cant build anything from not trusting your partner and b) the gut might be wrong.

Has Edwin ever said "I love you" to Ron? I'm just wondering if I missed it or not.
Edwin is just learning that you can enjoy the presence and company of someone without it having to mean anything deeper than that. His confusion is slowly being resolved. I don't really mind who the endgame couple are.

@elsie2088 Edwin is pretty much the densest person ever though. I don't think he's really learning at all in fact, because he hasn't stated or in any way proven your claim. You can have a fun-buddy, but only if they want the same thing. Now all he's doing is lying to Ron, wants a relationship but only with Lucas - who he's in love with, and wants to be a teenager.
And no, he's never said ILY to Ron.

@Iclabon72 I agree he IS lying to Ron but that's what I believe is the beginning of the resolution of the confusion in his head. He hasn't yet had an epiphany but I think we are pretty much close to it now. Maybe like Lucas, Ron will force the truth out of him with constant, direct questioning and maybe he'll redeem his image in our eyes by coming clean sooner than he did with Lucas.All I can do is hope at this point.

What I love about this storyine is; all three of the guys are nice and sweet, not one of them is a jerk(so far)...its much harder to write when the "evil" element is, "timing"...cudos to the writers.

When he met Lucas at Dansatoria and tried to talk to him, Ed was more then disappointed with Lucas getting rid of him with the "I'm-busy-busy"" line. For a moment at 13:25 his eyes got really sad and his eyebrows curved...

@GTSTfanMark That may be true, but there's still quite a difference between someone who's 25 and someone who's 19. Ron already has a profession, and Edwin hasn't left home yet. The gap between 30 and 40 is a lot less in terms of life experience than the gap between 19 and 25. I'm not saying that Ron and Edwin aren't good for one another. But I also know that at 19 I wasn't ready for a 25 year-old.

It seems that we go through this age question on every episode. Ron & Lucas are about the same age. Ron has a profession. Lucas has his own business. Edwin is a high school student. Ron has a more mature demeanor than Lucas. Temperamentally Lucas is probably a better match for Edwin. If age difference were really a problem here, then the solution would be for Edwin to find another high school student. But no one seems to want that.

While I like Ron and Edwin, because Ron isn't a bad guy for him to be with; Ron is just not the right guy right now. Its clear that this won't last long though, I think the writers are screaming that now. On a side note, what is with Edwin's parents being so nosy?!? I mean I've heard of being involved in your child's life, but damn, they were even commentating on it. Glad they are such an open family, but that just went to show how different he and Ron are.

Honestly here Edwin is lying to Ron they didn't speak really? "do you want a drink?" doesn't count apparently to Edwin, or was it that he still got a bit jealous watching Lucas on the market...failing but never the less on the market. The timing is awkward because of the brevity of their relationship, but inviting Edwin is no weirder than not inviting him. Ron is becoming insecure re Edwin's feelings. He's beginning to sense that Edwin is not being entirely clear & honest. That's not weird; that's perceptive. Love is blind, but Ron is beginning to see what Edwin is too immature to tell him.

@alwaysuseless I agree that because they are "together," Ron would inform Edwin about the position he might get in London, and for him to invite him as well. But I think it's more plot-driven for Ron to at this point be so naively invested/pushy instead of hopeful/anxious over it, and for him to still be alternately perceptive/ignorant of the Lucas issue. The writing just doesn't credit him much as the person he looks to be, which is both a shame and something I don't care about.

Ron is moving too fast and Edwin is far too young for that kind of a commitment. If Edwin and Ron dated for a few years I would agree. But for Ron to expect Edwin to move to England after dating for a few weeks is moving too fast and seems desperate.
