so it still works if SIM is out. SWEET!!!!!!!! (everything but phone and text messaging)- I was going to buy ipod touch but now i'm buying the 3G iphone. its cheaper.

a SIM is something that ATT and (i think) TMoble uses that is a little card that you put in a phone- any phone of that carrier- to make it activate that number to the phone it is in.

i am showing here that the iphone works without the SIM card. (but it wont make calls, itll do everything else)

If you know that little about phones, don't even ask.
A SIM card carries information about your plans/phone number. it can also store contacts.
