  • This is a very nice song. My neighbor asked me to record a guitar version of it for her to sing at church. Small odds, I know, but does anybody know of a (good) guitar version of this song? Thanks

  • @WhiteLakeDan: I was looking for chords online, but haven't found any yet. If you have a good ear, you can probably figure out the chords just by listening. That's what I'm going to do, anyway. Such a pretty song!

  • @WhiteLakeDan theirs alotta piano and violin music on this, it would be ruined with a guitar keep it on a piano and violins

  • My Grandfather was not a 'farmer' by trade but he was always farming. I miss him so much, this is a song that brings tears to my eyes thinking of him.

  • "Seems the only way a man can live off the land these days is to buy and sell."

Sad...sad. For America...for anyone who longs for more simplicity and honesty, and for those who might never experience what we once stood for as a country.

  • This song makes me cry. It brings back my Grandpa's farm of my childhood, family, holidays, wonderful times. now gone with the wind. My wife of 41 years who I lost recently cried every time she heard this song, a truly wonderful song, beautifully performed.

  • The most beautiful song of all time.

  • I too grew up on a farm. Silos and windmills. It actually was my Grandfather's and farm. My Dad grew up there so did we. Tears flow listening to this. Matraca Berg and Gary Harrison nailed it with this one.

  • Incredible song by Matraca Berg. It puts me right there in those fields - makes me cry every time. I grew up in a farming community and this song brings me back.

  • My god, this song surprises me every time I hear it. I don't think I have to add anything more. Garth, you're a lucky bastard!

  • This song is so great - so wonderful... I love this song so much! It's one of my favorites and it makes me realize and enjoy what i have right now...

    Thank you so much...

  • 2:45-3:10 is my favorite part...

  • We did a flute solo to this at my school. the girl who sang it for the school. you'd think she was Trisha's sister. lol

  • A beautiful and moving song, exquisitely sung by one of the finest vocalists of her generation--it doesn't get any better than that.

  • This song reminds me SO much of my buddy's grandparents. Nebraska farm people, salt of the earth types. Sadly now gone. GREAT song from a GREAT album.

  • MAKES ME NEARLY CRY EVERY TIME i HEAR IT

  • i cry every single time i hear it

  • my favorite off the album. Thanks for posting this. Profound.
