After you get 888% (I think) of the map filled, Wind gives you a quest which opens the door to there at castle entrance.

Actually, try using Axes against Balore, he falls in no time with them

How did you get the holy claymore and final sword?

You can get Holy Claymore from Vincents shop (i'd recall) and Final Sword is a rare drop from Final Guards.
