  • How does the Goldak stack up to the Fisher m-scope tw-6? I want to trace a residential sewer line and I've been looking at these things on ebay. Don't know which is a better device, need expert advice.

  • This older Goldak's were pretty rugged and nice. I like the TW-6 over the newer Goldaks. The newer Goldak' 902's have cheap switches and battery holders in them. Fisher has maintained the rugged switches as they did in their TW-5's. The TW-6 is over-all much more rugged. Remember you can't trace non-conductive sewer lines with these unless you get a sonde or put a metal fish down the line.

  • Much obliged.

  • I converted these to C cells just so you can change the batteries easily. The grey sealed modules were in the TR-4's and made them hard to work on. The TR-5A's were pretty good as well. They figured out how to build-in the speaker in that model, All these guys, Fisher, Metrotech, Goldak all had these sound box transitions. I mean how hard was it to put in a speaker. I could never figure out what these guys were thinking.
